Real Civil Engineer is the only channel I will watch dig a hole for a half hour
same
Me too its actually very entertaining!
I watched a whole Yogscast series on it...
Yh
Dangerously Funny is fun to watch too
I love that he reads the dynamite doesn't destroy white rock and lamps cant be picked up and then proceeded to use dynamite on white rock and destroying lamps
I think he thought that that wasn’t white rock, but yeah the lamp thing was pretty brain dead…as usual lol
You can tell he was an engineer, pretty sure the hard hat he wears is to protect his head on the short bus.
I did the same thing when I played. That rock is gray, not white, and I saw it as "Spending $100 to learn that the game is wrong."
The Colin Furze interlude made me laugh.
If you haven't watched his underground build, I highly recommend them.
100% agree
Perfect, you can't make a video about a hole in the back garden without mentioning Colin Furze; perfect score!
So I can't help but sing, I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole.
Diggy diggy hole!
No maidens for sure
Diggy Diggy hole! The sunlight will not reach this low..
Brothers of the mine rejoice!
Rock and stone!
Brothes of the mine rejoice!
(Swing, swing, swing with me)
Raise your pick and raise your voice!
(Sing, sing, sing, with me)
Down and down into the deep
Who knows what we'll find beneath?
Diamonds, rubies, gold and more
Hidden in the mountain store
Born underground
suckled from a teat of stone
Raised in the dark
The safety of our mountain home
Skin made of iron
Steel in our bones
To dig and dig makes us free
Come on, brothers, sing with me!
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
The sunlight will not reach this low
(Deep, deep in the mine)
Never seen the blue moonglow
(Dwarves won't fly so high)
Fill a glass and down some mead
Stuff your bellies at the feast!
Stumble home and fall asleep
Dreaming in our mountain keep
Born underground
Grown inside a rocky womb
The Earth is our cradle
The mountain shall become our tomb
Face us on the battlefield
You will meet your doom
We do not fear what lies beneath
We can never dig too deep
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
Born underground
Suckled from a teat of stone
Raised in the dark
The safety of our mountain home
Skin made of iron
Steel in our bones
To dig and dig makes us free
Come on, brothers, sing with me!
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
"I've rallied the dwarves."
"How many?"
"Yes."
good to see i was not the only one who saw the video title and begun singing this music.
did I hear a rock and stone?
revan is that you
@@ChronosCreatives The only reason I wasn't the first to get it in was I put in the whole song instead of just a few lines.
When I was in high school, I opened the piano in the band room, and inside I found a treasure map! It had a floor plan of the band room, and it showed a big X (as treasure maps are wont to do), so of course I paced it all out as directed, following the dotted lines past the bass amp, around the drums, under the bells, to the room with the music stands, across to the fire bell, and finally into the instrument room. I moved an old saxophone case, and there was a tile with a big X on it. Under the tile... a hollowed out spot with a tiny treasure chest! The chest contained some satchels of candy, a few Mexican coins, and a luchador keychain trinket.
It was my favourite day of high school. The next day I filled the box with Jolly Ranchers, a rubber beholder toy, and six ambiguously dirty poems on squares of fancy paper, and returned it to its place. The map was stashed under the matting of an easel in the drafting room. I graduated before anyone found it, but one of my brother's friends found it the next year. I like to believe that decades later that old treasure map is still being passed around, and goodies are being exchanged between anonymous students via that little box.
Anyway, if ever you find a big X somewhere... dig! You may find candy.
“it’s not been painted red, the grass is even grown red.” when you paint the grass, the grass is painted…😂
if it was painted BEFORE the grass grew, only the dirst would be red and the grass wouldnt, so it means the X came after the grass grew
@@OZZO3 yeah, that’s what i said already^
Best way to dig that hole is to dig a giant square, while making stairs or a ramp at the right or left corner nearest the house, exactly as you would a qaurry. But im not sure you can do that because the increasing costs.
How i would actually do it, is dig in a corkscrew ramp pattern, to dig as deep as possible as fast as possible while maintaining the ability to walk in and out.
That's real engineer talk. Not just civil engineer talk.
You need to describe it as if you are talking to an architect that way Matt will understand you
@@Joyful_Traitor im more of a construction worker, rather than an engineer or architect.
I prefer the jetpack 🤷♂️
@ Ah that is understandable
"Matt... buy the dynamite. That's a doorway" "I'm not going to buy the dynamite" "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh"
Smartest comment on RUclips
Perfect, can't make a video about a hole in the back garden without a Colin Furze reference, perfect score!
I was gonna say gotta love furze
Colin sells his tunnel dirt as well. It works on two levels (surface and underground)
4:28 Love Colinfurze I’ve been a fan since before his bunker build ❤😂
Same, it's glad to see that he's not afraid of referencing other people, not like it's a bad thing, I'm yelling too much, forget this comment, I have brain rot
No false advertising here, presumably.
yea no clickbait lol
Game went from digging holes into a "horror like" game by the end
Kinda felt like an artificial copout to not allow dynamite or jetpack in the bottom mines.
15:20 "Charge our battery, and increase our battery" "oh that one i got battery included when i bought it"
16:25 the oak island reference 😭
Would’ve thought that an engineer would think about making a ramp
Ramps aren't bridges so he can't be arsed 🤷🏽♂️
@@ryshow9118 what about a bridge that is connecting a lower spot to a higher spot
@@Frau_Brotchen You're thinking outside the box there. What are you, some kind of architect?
@ oh no 😨this can't be
@@Frau_Brotchen I'm sorry. I lashed out and that was uncalled for.
17:37 - Didn't Matt earlier in the video read the description and it said you can't pick back up lamps. Classic Matt
Absolute proof that he’s secretly an architect
What im taking from this video is that there is probably iron ore under my house, time to go buy a big ol’ shovel and a jet pack.
Important notes:
1.) Iron ore is ludicrously common and requires an absolutely massive industrial operation to be profitable.
2.) Just because you own land, doesn't necessarily mean you own the mineral rights beneath it.
3.) Digging more than 6 feet(2 Meters) down for anything other than necessary utilities like plumbing or electricity, most likely violates some city ordinance and requires special permits.
Funnily enough, yes as long as you don't live in a city. Most iron deposits are tiny bits of iron oxide in soil or sand. You don't really see it in chunks like they show in games, even in a mine. There are lots of videos showing how to extract iron from dirt or sand. (sand is usually better.) Can be a fun little project to see what you can actually get from your yard, but without a really good smelter. You really wouldn't want to try and make money off it. :)
The ending being “Peace, love, and death by mole men” is just hilarious lol.
On the computer issues - if you've got a 13/14th gen Intel CPU, could be the CPU that's causing the problem (Google search can tell you about these - on the plus side, you might be able to get it warrantied because it's a manufacturing defect). Otherwise PSU is the more likely culprit.
Probably psu but could every well be my cpu (which is amd). I've never been happy with my pc since day 1, so many problems with it!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming did it come from Apex? If not, who built it?
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming
If it is the first two generations (Ryzen 1 or Ryzen 2) without latest bios updates I understand you could get issues and also it's really important what memory sticks you are using (even on later series).
Is not just buying the most expensive ones, but just want the motherboard manufacturer recommended. It's a little frustrating quirk of Ryzen compared to AMDs older series or Intel.
@ Yeah, if it's random crashing - especially on games that pull high CPU or high GPU load (and given you record video, pretty much anything can cause high load) - then that sounds like a PSU issue. Or maybe RAM, but that's less likely.
I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole
Born underground. Grown inside a rocky womb
Rock and stone!
@mc_vinzent raised in the dark.
Claustrophobia Simulator
17:41 I like how he tries to pick up the lamp even after the description says hr won't be able to😂
Matt while first shopping "...lamp. Can't be moved after placing."
Matt 5 minutes later: "Oh no it broke. You destroy lamps you don't pick them up!"
😂 Never change
24:10 thats a classic
editors absolutely roasting Matt like usual
27:25 Is this the closest we got to see Matt at horror Games gameplay?
20:08 ... I was yelling for 10 minutes of gameplay.... ITS A MINESHAFT! GO INSIDE! ... and I've never played or watched the game until now lmao
>be RCE
>Inspect Dam
>Why Mushrooms?
>Why Government?
>Why air spicy?
>city going to die
>screw it I'm going to dig in my back yard
>**redacted for spoilers**
What did you expect?
Before charging the battery after dumping inventory might be a good idea to use the remaining charge to widen the hole before charging
He's RCE and he's digging a hole. Diggy diggy hole...diggy diggy hole!
For rock and stone, brother!
A good way is setting lamps on the indestructible rocks so the lamps never get in the way of drilling
4:28 Colin jumpscare. ❤😂
I am addicted to watching Matt's pawn career
no WAY!! i saw this late yesterday and thought "RCE would "dig" this game" get it... ahahahahaha!! cheers mate!
"This hole was made for me"
Amigara moment
That escalated quickly
24:09 ?
As a different type of broken person "iron doesn't just appear in ground like that".
On side note I really like mods for minecraft or factorio that add galena, hematite, rutile etc. and proper processes to separate metals from the ore... and I'm not even metallurgy engineer. >>a
0:48 yeh that's much better 😂
diggy diggy hole
Big fan of your passive aggressive editor.
This is literally a 3D remake of the Flash game Motherload from the early 2000s. Other than the setting (back garden vs Mars) the mechanics are basically identical!
0:47 Perfectly placed stone! 🤣
1:28 as someone who works at a hardware store, mabey go check if you dont have any stroage bugs, like if your system files got corupted, or what i also once had is that your psu isnt keeping up with the amount of power draw your setup might have, or some squeaky code that is bad
i was just this second on the storepage pondering if i wanna get it. and now you play it. perfect timing.
0:12 How many carrots are there growing in the 'garden'? 😂
I love how the lamp, literally says “cannot be picked up once placed” and Matt smacks a lamp with his shovel.
4:28 Colin Furze jumpscare.
when my computer kept crashing it wasn't a software or a hardware issue! it was actually them stupid power outlet, but sure to just try a different outlet and see if that helps
I have a problem with this video; its not about Storage Hunter Simulator.
Holy crap in a sock that last bit was intense
13:00 i probably have enough to upgrade my dig(ck) my dig(ck) in size
😂😂😂
Imagine the surprise when a mining game has a stereotypical mine entrance.
"What we use that resource for I'm not entirely sure" Rce's voice fits that for a rhyme.
LOL the white rock was actually white!
a civil engineer not thinking to build stairs is some real architect energy
I jumped with that sudden cut to the monster chasing you
Dynamite: "I can blow up everything that isn't a 'white rock'".
RCE ‐ finds a white rock
RCE: "Is this the white rock that the dynamite is used for?"
The moment I see the video, my dwarf soul awake ! Rock and Stone brothers !!
For rock and stone!!
Dynamite: *can’t destroy white rocks*
Rock: *is white*
RCE: 14:26 *tries dynamite on white rock and tries to say the game tricked him 😂*
I will always love RCE for this reason
This looks like the most fun game i've ever seen in my entire life. I would really hope for a very large expansion to play a lot more of this in the future
Such a great simple premise, but I wish it was expanded upon.
100x the content in this game and it would be an unavoidable purchase
"Game of the year, 20/10." IGN, probably
Added this to my wishlist yesterday cause somehow, I KNEW you'd make a video on it lol
@Real_Civil_Engineer You should make a diggy diggy hole song for this game, it'll be both awesome and funny. Now I got this diggy diggy hole song in my head while watching this. XD
THIS GAME HAS BEEN ON MY WISHLIST SINCE IVE HEARD OF IT. I DIDNT REALIZE IT WAS OUT. LETS GOO
Nice "Thief" dejavu in the dark tunnels with scary sounds.
17:40 If only the game told you that you cannot pick up lamps before...
I already know it’s gonna be a banger
the best upgrading game is the GNORP apologue, Matt really needs to play it
I love that a ramp was never a consideration.
To be fair, you got a jetpack, so yea... why would you?
"guess we just keep going down"... (while radar tool is incessantly blinking "UP")
gameplay was deeper than I expected
Are you sure these devs arent just trolling you/us with some of these games
1:07 They're not rocks - they're minerals Marie
The furze reference was nice especially with the tunnel update coming soon
0:47 "digging"
I see and hear what you did there and I endorse it.
Jokes like those are addickting. 🙃
The Colin Furze bit caught me off guard but 100% true.
why is this recommended to me 47 seconds late? this is unacceptable.
Ikr
Lucky it was 7 minutes late for me
You need better wifi!
Bruh
Nah he uses a shoebox for internet
All I found so far is a briefcase with $31 in about 5m pointing towards the Grill.
I wonder there is that locked box where the computer is. Two Locks. Maybe they just buried the keys for it out in the garden.
Did a big X trench through the whole lawn. Kind of like the Scottish flag.
nobody saw the strongest shape at the start lol
diggy diggy hole diggy diggy hole
Ive noticed that both RCE and Dangerously Funny drop videos on the same game within a few hours of each other, it’s happened multiple times and im starting to think it may not be a coincidence. I may be wrong, and maybe it is, but it happened quite a few times recently.
Collin Furze Simulator
Edit: dang it, beat me to it! 4:26
Thinking something is grey instead of white? Absolute architect moment
He's an engineer and he's digging a hole
Diggity-diggity-hole, digging a hole
Yo, this came out right after DangerouslyFunny’s video on digging a hole, you should do a collab. The hole thing might just blow up!
"the grass is red too, so it couldn't have been painted on"
... Yeah, you definitely can't paint grass; only the dirt below it.
i love the shape of the hole you dug at 0:50 secs
The office references kill me everytimeee
Gaaaawd
We need a Victorian " 'orrible Monsta' " shirt ASAP
Red eyed Paddy 😂
0:40 never get´s old xD
Man I thought the balrog was gunna be down there he delved so deep and greedily.
🎵"down in a hole, and I don't know, if I can be saved"🎵
this just in, engineer doesn't know what a ramp is
Love the Furze excerpt.
Oh dear god. A video about a video game about digging holes. Getting high and watching YT was a great idea
Yes! let's go im so glad that this is getting featured!
Finding out you are at least familiar with Oak Island is an absolute delight to me :D My mom and I watch the show together (though we're a season behind bc my adhd means I can't watch it much)
I got way too into this game. I've already gotten all the trophies and the golden cosmetic that comes with that
