    Dime's version of Fractured Mirror is absolutely one of the greatest covers of any song i've ever heard. I can honestly hear the love he had for Ace in his playing of this. In fact (dare I say?) this version might be better than the original.

    Not a virtuoso?! In 1996 I watched 20,000 sing along with every solo Ace played like they were singing along with a chorus, I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like that in my entire life, for ANY guitar player. Whoever these "Virtuoso" guitarists you speak of are, they should be calling Ace and asking for lessons. After that night I realized something: Ace Frehley is THE GREATEST lead guitarist of all time. No other guitar player I've seen or heard of weilds that kind of power,

      @@donallfinn you are correct. i bought this cd many, many years ago but hardly played it. i foolishly thought it would be a collector's item, LOL!
      i think the main reason the songs are included on the CD is because so many of these artists needed the money, needed the work, so they made any excuse to play on a Kiss song and get paid. these were lean years from ex-80's rockers

    You shouldn't be on a tribute record for THE guitar god is you can't or won't play his guitar solos. It's not a tribute if you aren't playing his music.

    Gilbey Clarke sounds totally gay on vocals.

    I like Ace Frehley, Vinnie Vincent and Bruce Kulick but kiss they always sound better when someone else is covering the tracks can anybody tell me why?

    • @helmedon
      @helmedon 8 лет назад +4

      +Tony D I disagree, but maybe because technology has advanced a lot since the mid 70s, recording digitally instead of analog.....plus, it's easy to take an already great song and tweak it to make it sound a little better.

  • @taradead
    @taradead 9 лет назад +1

    The Deuce cover is rad...imagine hearing that solo in 1975. The rest of the covers are pretty bad, imo. For instance, Sebastian Bach has lost his vocal range and you can't mess with the cold gin riff (surprised they even let that abomination on this CD).

    • @helmedon
      @helmedon 8 лет назад +1

      +Rick Nombe It's his favorite KISS song and the one he auditioned with. I guess he walked in and they asked him to play along with what they were playing, which happened to be Deuce. I've heard they jammed along for around 4 minutes with Ace just playing leads over the song.

    • @donallfinn
      @donallfinn 6 лет назад

      I haven't listened, but I can imagine, Bach really has a bad habit of over signing, he tries to do too much, and he tries to sound too "heavy metal" it's like: Chill out dude....It's only rock n' roll, not every song sound better whenJudas Priest plays it.
