    Thank you for this! It's simpler than some other "explanations" I've been looking at. And I like the trick with the RCA jacks. You have almost 250,000 views -- for a video that explains a _really_ obscure and complex problem.

    Wow, I had no idea!!! Up until now, I just used one side of my headphones, so that I could hear the music coming from the headphones on one ear and hear my voice with my other ear because, even after installing the ASIO driver, the latency was so big that it was just impossible to hear myself on my headphones. I just tried to connect the RCA Left & Right outputs to the inputs and...magic!!! It works! So glad I saw this video! Thank you for making it and sharing this!!!

    I don't know how many threads on the net I have read so far which are testament to the fact how very confused people (myself absolutely included, mind you) are about how this thing with USB/2-TR input/output inclusion/exclusion really works.
    I must have read the according sections of the manuals to my X1204USB, Q802USB and Q502USB about 10 times each before I finally (with some experimentation) got to the point where things came together for me; and still I have to look up my notes, whenever I haven't done multi-tracking with them in a while.
    Your video on the other hand makes it all very easy to understand (I am really surprised that there are only ~725 views.)
    Anyway, many thanks for taking the time not only to show how it's done, but also for doing it with very clear diagrams. Big thumbs up.

      Hi there - I just read your comment that you have been able to complete the USB/2-TR input/output inclusion/exclusion with Xeynx1204 USB mixer. I see two red buttons (2-TR/USB and 2-TR/USB to Main) and 2 black buttons (Alt 3-4 and Main Mix) and 1 knob (for Phones/Ctrl Room). How do I need to use these buttons along with RCA loop cable to accomplish the following - record only microphone audio in computer via usb while playing music/karaoke track on computer and be able to hear the music/vocal together with no latency in headphones

    Question: If I hook up my USB mixer to my Ipad and use garageband or any DAW software to capture the incoming live performance sound/signal from mixer and then use Airplay to send the sound wirelessly out to a speaker and not necessarily for recording, but just strictly using the captured the sound from the mixer onto the Ipad so I can Airplay it to the speaker. Can I do this while having all speakers on loudly without worrying about any feedback? or Can I do this at all? Thank you.

    • @RecordingStudio9

      If you are using USB mics, then you cannot really use a mixer, as the USB mic plugs to the PC USB port directly.
      You can use ASIO4ALL to combine multiple USB Mics into your recording software, but you may have some issues.
      If you need 3 Mics but simple stereo main audio to your recording software, then 3 dynamic or condenser Mics into any 3 Mic channel USB mixer should do.
      Hope this helps

    Hello and thank you for your nice video.
    I use to connect my Korg Krome keyboard into my Bose Compnaion 5 (2.1 system) Aux Input: the 2 1/4 jack keyboard output (for a stereo sound) are converted into a single 3.5mm jack that plugs into the Companion 5 Aux Input. I works nice. The Bose are already connected on my computer via USB connection.
    Now I would like to connect my DX7 synth (2 output 1/4 jack), my electric guitar (1 output 1/4 jack), and my Yamaha Piagero NPV80 2 keyboard (1 output 1/4 jack) to my Bose 2.1 speakers, the whole IN STEREO, via the entry jack 3.5 mm.
    Do I need to use a mixer (BEHRINGER XENYX QX1002USB), an audio interface (BEHRINGER UMC404HD), or both of them?
    Thank you in advance for your answers!

    A good tutorial on routing of audio signals with useful diagrams.
    The zero latency trick is pretty awesome! However it is mentioned that keeping the "USB/2-Track" to "Main Mix" button down (accidentally) would cause feedback and possible damage the unit. The manual says that when this button is down, the signal to the "2-track out" (as well as the audio going to the USB from the mixer) would be cut off. Which means there is a built in protection against feedback in case the said button is down. However this raises another question. How would the overdubbed recording scenario work if the audio signal going to the USB (from the mixer) is cut off when the said button is down?

    Is this possible to do this with a smartphone as the source for track 1 while recording only the microphone as track 2 through the smartphone and monitoring track 1 + track 2 through headphones? I have a male 3.5mm TRRS adapter that splits headphone-out and microphone-in into 2 x 3.5mm female connectors. I'm assuming I'm going need some 3.5mm to 1/4" adapters as well.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  6 лет назад

      The USB audio is 2-in/2-out stereo in/out, so it won't work as you expect. You can record the audio from smartphone onto DAW track one, then listen back from DAW track one and record mic to DAW track 2, while listening to DAW track 1, using my zero latency direct monitoring trick.

    • @freddyt55555
      @freddyt55555 6 лет назад

      I understand your zero latency trick won't work since a phone doesn't playback or record through USB, but I was asking if I can connect the phone's headphone-out to the 2-Track input and the 2-Track output to the phone's microphone-in. As I mentioned, I have a TRRS splitter that can attach to the phone.

    Hey I'm new to this, I'm wanting to know is it possible to have my mic , gamesound and voip(my friends in teamspeak) an have them all on a different channel which I can adjust volume on all 3 of these. Can I do this with this mixer also what type of wires do I need etc. Thx sorry if this is stupid.

      There is never a stupid question.
      You can have the Mic and Gamesound & VOIP as one, but not all 3 separately. Audio from the PC like VOIP, might be able to be adjusted from the Windows Audio Mixer.
      You will need a Mic and USB audio interface to get your voice into the PC. You can also get a USB Mic, then use the Windows Audio Mixer to adjust levels.
      Hope this helps.
