As a Finn, we are proud of our Saunas and we have it in our houses next to bathroom mostly, some small city apartments excluded. And of course our summer houses next to lake. And of course the proper ones as just as this was heated with wood, not those electric ones! Finland is a small country of only 5.5 million people but we have over 3 million Saunas here! 😃

Seriously in that weather in Finland it definitely was a must to have a sauna back in a day! i love it though in my region in summer everywhere outside is actually a sauna without a roof!😂
I love how you are always making friends with total strangers. In a time when everyone is head down looking at their phone, to look up and engage with someone is so important! Both sides benefit from the human interaction 😊 Its something I’m trying to do more, which is a good challenge as an introvert haha 🤙

I love that Nikki takes Camper everywhere she’s able to even in to the bathrooms. I very rarely leave my dog in my van because I’m afraid somebody will steal my van with my dog in it. I would be devastated.
You can tell how imprinted (in a good way...) Camper is with you! He just seems to radiate joy on all the adventures you undertake! My home state is Ohio but I always felt like I had two home states with Michigan. Toledo is right on the Ohio Michigan border, so I grew up spending quite a bit of time in both states. Now I live in the Florida Keys which is AMAZING. Still miss the green trees, camp grounds, and gorgeous parks of NW Ohio and SE Michigan though.

I did my first true ice bath a few months ago in Mexico. That was an experience. I had done my legs only before and that was tough...but whole body (up to neck) was a whole different expereince!!

I don't know how I got to your channel, but I got goose bumps when I saw that park sign and recognized the office area when you drove to it. I remember those stairs towards the beach very well too. My girlfriend and I happened to get the camping spot to the left of that stairs. We were very lucky since it was the 4th of July 2019, and it seemed like everyone was out to go camping 🤔. The first night we were allowed to stay at the field near the office, because all the spots were taken. I always wake up early and after a short recon the next morning, we moved our tiny tent from the field to that great spot. Lake Michigan was 'refreshing'🥶, but during the day it was well above 80F, so that was actually nice. The chipmunks came close to our tent and were a joy to watch. Great times! My step father is a Finn and we had some lake front property a few miles down the road from Sudbury Ontario Canada which had a traditional wood burning sauna there. We loved it so much that we (the family) built one on our farm land just outside of Brantford Ontario Canada. Sadly we no longer live on either piece of land now, but it sure was a lot of fun putting it to good use then. So glad you got to try the sauna out for yourself. Take care and be well.
Next time you're in the area, hit up Muskegon State Park. The white sand beach there squeaks when you shuffle your feet on it and the water is very shallow a long ways off shore.
