Hey, Nikki! I grew up measuring things the same way while helping out my dad! "32 1/2 minus 1", "27 1/4 plus 1", etc! It's faster to read off (especially for a grade schooler), and quicker to find for the other person -- or at least, it was for us... 😅

Once you have cushions, your head WILL hit, so for your desk "chair" area, make the cushion small and easily removeable so your neck is aligned while at your desk. AND amazing job! What fun, you guys!

I love the modular design! That said, thinner, strong materials could make it both roomier and much lighter without compromising on strength. The only time I want dimensional lumber in my pickup is when I'm transporting it to the jobsite where it will be installed. I'm not suggesting that for this build, mind you, just putting it out there for those inspired to emulate the clever ideas.

Working in North Dakota and winter Camping in the Colorado Rockies. My truck bed had so many OEM openings under the bed rail that I never noticed. Snow was blowing up under the truck then was pilling up INSIDE the truck bed as I was sleeping. 1x I flew home, when I came back, my topper was packed full of snow. It blew in around the tail gate and tail lights, lol. Then it was Reflectix, Bed Rug and then a Tail Gate seal. The BEST things that changed my truck topper winter camping :) Originally, I mounted a RTT to my then new custom 8ft Leer Topper. The Topper roof would crack in the winter with all the weight :( I went to Rack Attack, they mounted rails on the crew cab roof for me. I then moved the RTT to the truck cab and had no issues since. The RTT annex could hang down and I had access to the truck doors while still being out of the weather :) Im about to give that all up and go with an OVRLND aluminum pop-up camper (Flagstaff AZ) and shave off a lot of weight. Looking forward to the rest of ya'lls build and new travels ❤

Not even being funny, I love hard wood. I love the grain, screwing/ drilling into it, everything. I have a deep love for trees and it includes lumber. That wood is BEAUTIFUL.
U-haul is under appreciated. No rental car available? Rent a u-haul pickup. Van life break down? Rent a small box truck. Need a spot to stow your gear, possibly yourself, for a day or three? Rent a modest storage unit. Lacking mobility, and probably nearby woods, one must plan better than the box van, but it's like that.
Have alot of catchin up to do but i cant say how happy i am to see you with a good dude with his head on an is down for the adventure. Beautiful couple

I love watching your adventures and the different vehicles that you have used for them. Great job on the truck bed build! I've built out the back of my Frontier PRO-4X three times so far and looking at #4. Actually two total builds and two remodels. The first build and remodel were with a midrise topper and it worked fantastic until I discovered wedge camper/toppers and bought the Snap TREEHOUSE back in 2020 (when they cost a LOT less). Like Build #1, Build # 2 is modular so that I can easily and quickly rebove the cabinets and use my truck as a truck, or put in my cabinets for camping. The mod on build #2 will allow me to stealth camp in the bed of my truck ,in locations where I don't want to raise the upstairs wedge/camper.
Solitude is great. Spending time with friends, building a rig how you want it is awesome. Custom making your own setup does give you satisfaction and nobody else has the same thing. Our 4 Runner is great built out as an Overlander. Now we have a small Sol Horizon trailer. Great to have something similar in function to your Sprinter. We are spoiled with AC a bathroom and solar power. Nice to be able to drop it at a campsite and use the 4Runner Wheeling and adventuring. The build looks great and very functional.

My travel trailer is parked on my off-grid land. I can't stop traveling though, so have built out my Dodge ram 1500. Had to remove my first bed platform due to claustrophobia! Now, my bed is only 5 inch clearance underneath, where I can slip shoe box size containers. I can comfortably sit up with my 4-inch memory foam mattress. I built out shelves on the other side. I'm in the National Forest north of Flagstaff at this very moment. Me and two dogs! Go camping!
You still have the entire back seat there so many ways to utilize that space and the dogs will be comfortable riding in the back with the cab window open they will get plenty of air.

Solitude is great. Spending time with friends, building a rig how you want it is awesome. Custom making your own setup does give you satisfaction and nobody else has the same thing. Our 4 Runner is great built out as an Overlander. Now we have a small Sol Horizon trailer. Great to have something similar in function to your Sprinter. We are spoiled with AC a bathroom and solar power. Nice to be able to drop it at a campsite and use the 4Runner Wheeling and adventuring. The build looks great and very functional.

My travel trailer is parked on my off-grid land. I can't stop traveling though, so have built out my Dodge ram 1500. Had to remove my first bed platform due to claustrophobia! Now, my bed is only 5 inch clearance underneath, where I can slip shoe box size containers. I can comfortably sit up with my 4-inch memory foam mattress. I built out shelves on the other side. I'm in the National Forest north of Flagstaff at this very moment. Me and two dogs! Go camping!

You still have the entire back seat there so many ways to utilize that space and the dogs will be comfortable riding in the back with the cab window open they will get plenty of air.
