- I built a car camper out of my Jeep Wrangler. In today’s video I give a tour of my custom Jeep car camper conversion, and show off all of its unique features. Car camping out of my Jeep has led to some amazing adventures. I 100% recommend converting a vehicle into a car camper, and I hope this video provides some cool ideas if you are looking to build you own car camper / van.

Good morning brother I done the samin my jk .4door. Wrangler 4 door .jk 👍for my food and cookers and I can plug 2 in my jeep .when I'm driving I pull a tiny home with .my jeep .lots of camping .only black tops .no dirt roads for me . And nice video. Brother 👍🙏

I use my alien shade the same way, it’s very handy! And keeping the blankets up there helps to insulate from the heat of the sun during the summer when you are driving around.

I'm looking into a two door Jeep. My plan is to remove the passenger seat since I travel solo and make that space my bed at night. As of now on my Eastern Sierra Death Valley travels I travel at a minimum.
You can fold it flat and sleep inside. I'm 6-2. I explain how I did it. Best mod you can make if you want to stretch out and sleep in comfort.
Great conversion. Where did you get the Hardtop? If it came with the Jeep, who makes it?

What is your bed’s total length?
In inches how much sleeping space do you have with the seats slid forward and bed fully put together?
The two major problems with sleeping inside a 2 dr is interior length and the sound bar. I'm 6-2 and don't want to sleep diagonally crushed up against the bar. I've tried different scenarios but for my size I was kidding myself. My solution was to make the seat fold flat and go with a platform the height of the folded seat, that being 12-13".
So I now have a seat that folds into a 74×30" bed and 25" clearance beneath the bar. To sleep 2, add more foam. Push the driver's seat fwd, treat it like a v-berth with feet at the 30" end. Remove the top bolt from both sides of pass seat, disconnect the 2 cables, remove the headrest, the seat will now fold as a typical 2 door seat always did before the nanny state took over. Add your ply filler pieces, then ratchet strap the ply to hold the seat flat. My whole interior can be removed in 3 sections in less than an hour.. 👍

@@sabio2009 disconnect the 2 wire cables from the rear of the pass seat. Lift up the skirting, you'll see the pivot plate. Remove the top bolt from each side. I think they're 15mm. Remove headrest. The seat now folds flat.. you'll need to bridge the gap from your box/platform to on top of the seat and ratchet strap it flat. After a few times you can do it quickly. I leave mine ready to turn into a bed. It works the same as before but the mechanism won't slide up onto the dash.. not important because the rear seat is out. Hope this helps.

Did they discontinue the safari top for the 2 door? Looking on the website, I only see the 4 door >.
They’re actually sold still, but under a different name. I guess Smittybilt discontinued it but then sold the design to another company. If you look up “Patriot Fastbacks Jeep Wrangler JK Adventure Top” on Google, you’ll find the same exact safari top for the 2-door model. Same design, just different manufacturer now.
Eventually planning to get one for my 2-door JK too 😁
That extra headroom and alpine windows up top are muy gorgeous.

Nice safari top! I did a similar interior for our 2015 2 door sport soft top. I'm 6-2, my wife is 5-9. She had no problem sleeping on the driver's side, she sleeps with legs bent. I prefer to stretch out, with the seat in it isn't possible. After figuring how to make the seat lie flat I dropped the platform to 12" which is the same height as the folded seat. If you're tall and want a great sleep it's worth considering.
