Great video. I have a 2012 jk sport. I love seeing 2 door videos and seeing how people adress the space issues. I wish there were more videos like this. 👍🏼🍻
I've been running their gold suspension components for 12 yrs now on my 2012 Rubicon 2 door and love it. Also the roof rack just not as long, it might be a tad heavy but solid like a rock....might double as a roll cage, LOL. Have been eyeballing the Rock Sport Blacks as I am still running the Old Man Emu shocks that came with the lift.
Awesome and thank you for your patronage! The new shocks have been awesome and I’m loving them. Around town (empty) I run them pretty soft so that I don’t spill my coffee. 😉
Started following after this video. Unfortunately there was not alot of available options when I built my 2018 JLR, so I got Dynatrac lift kit with fox shocks and added terraflex arms and bars all around. But I still need to build my wife's JLUR, SO do I swap my stuff to her jeep and buy all new for me or just buy new for her rig??? Hmmm...
Awesome! Casey 250 and Metalcloak Mike make the world a little better place! I'm building up a 2 door JL with some MC goodies. Hope to run into ya'll on the trail someday!
I have a 2D i'm building out as well and besides the packing challenges, I do enjoy the fact it fits in my garage. California garages aren't known for their roominess:-)
Great video on his 2-door Jeep overland setup. I love my 2-door 2013 JK and am mostly done with my Metalcloak rebuild project. I just need the roof rack setup next. The big question is where to put additional fuel storage, with the MetalCloak Swing Out Tire Carrier, I am limited to a 2gal RotoPax container.
If you’re running our rack system, it’s a great spot to mount rotopax. I also have 2 TrailRax mounts for the windows, but i didn’t run them on this trip since I didn’t need extra fuel/water
I’m right at the junction of choosing a lift for my JT. Currently just running an AEV 2” Boost. Wonder if Metalcloak will standup to our brutal (and salty) winters….. I know Mike mentioned the sacrificial layer…. I HATE rust!
It does quite well in the "rusty" parts of the world. The gold will fade quicker, but because it's embedded into the metal, it fights rust for quite some time afterwards.
It’s actually level, but the fender deletes (and the angle of the photo) make it look that way. The fronts sit higher on the body and expose more fender well.
Great walk around. Informative and friendly. I Really like the Metal Cloak products. I want to try the new shocks but am curious about valving for heavier weights, ie diesel, bumper, winch, lights etc…
The new shocks really shine with heavier weights. I run mine down around 1 or 2 settings when empty and around 4 or 5 when loaded. 7 and 8 are really stiff and better suited for 4-doors fully loaded out.
This is awesome, I'm currently putting a two door JK overlander together with the rack and tent. Besides raising the rear lift by .5 inch, what else would you recommend for suspension?
Nothing. :-) On a 2-door you’re limited on “stuff” so my recommendation is to pack light, pack small and you won’t have to worry about weight and MpG issues. Think like a backpacker and only bring what you KNOW you will need.
I notice a little wind drag, but my average on the trip up to BC and back only dropped by about 3 MPGS fully loaded. Having and aerodynamic tent really helps. I'm NOW trying out the Inspired Overland Carbon tent that only weighs in at 80 lbs
What tire carrier was he using? I have the metalcloak one on my jl but not that happy with it. Mike’s looked different than the metalcloak sportgate tire carrier
none of the mods I've done affect what the Rubicon model has to offer. The biggest advantage of buying a Rubicon is the Dana44 axles, Lockers and gearing... all of which I still have.
Before MetalCloak & Adventure Rack Systems, there was the KMS Congo Rack. Here’s a full tour of that Setup by a couple on their 2DR JK - ruclips.net/video/W0hzO1bVzCQ/видео.htmlsi=ryIRShaJ9Wp1tCKB

2-door owners are a special breed LOL. I had a great time putting this together with you and hanging out on the Island last week!
Glad to host you up here! See ya at PNW
A dying breed… way to keep it alive!
Love 2 doors the original jeeps
Awesome build and interview. This guy knows what he’s talking about and put a lot of thought into his build.
thank you! much appreciated!

Really nice video I have a 2 door JL and I was waiting for this video of Mike and his jeep, definitely good ideas for my JL thanks Casey 🤙🏻
amazing 2 door........ I would never give up mine....
Thank you!🙏
I have the OVS awning and its a game changer!
I agree! Works great, easy to use and fairly light!
I love my 2 door Jeep! I have a 2019 JL Sport. So good to see what others are doing to outfit for adventure! Thanks for the walkthrough.
best 2 door build walk around on YT rn imo. ty!!
Two door jeeper here. Just ordered the ARS roof rack.
You won't be disappointed.
I’m not even a jeep human but I really dig Mikes build
Thank you!
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. Lots of many great ideas

Great looking Jeep and well done !
Thank you! 🙏
Great video Casey! Mike said that he had a great time hanging out with you for the week!
Glad to have some Metalcloak crew up in my backyard!
Makes me want to build a 2 door.I have the rock sport blacks on my gladiator and love them. I gotta get a set of those hd end links!!
2-doors are super fun and nimble… and becoming rare! Do it! 😊
I followed Mikes build on Instagram, I also have a 2dr . I have a lot of Metalcloak parts on mine , still a build in progress, great video, thanks
Thanks following the build! Much appreciated! 🙏

I'll keep an eye out for 2 doors waving!
Thanks! Casey and I have fun together!
Love the rig walk around videos
This one is like a little preview for you. :D
I have a 2D i'm building out as well and besides the packing challenges, I do enjoy the fact it fits in my garage. California garages aren't known for their roominess:-)
I been overlanding with a 2dr since 1990 YJ. I also have a 2021 JL.
Nice! 2-doors for the win!

The "limited" Jeep-sized Jeeps are the best... even though more people buy the suv versions now...
👍🏽 agreed 😊

I rewatch this sometimes to remind myself what parts I’ve installed. 🤣
Thanks for the review of the 2 door Casey . A have a 2011 2 door myself , would sure like to upgrade to a newer one .
Good choice!
2-door JK’s are great rigs! Very capable
When you coming to Colorado ??
The trails are the best in North America and go to 13,900 feet.
2 doors! Hell yes
Yeah buddy!
Still looks like it needs more lift or extended spring in the back.
It’s actually level, but the fender deletes (and the angle of the photo) make it look that way. The fronts sit higher on the body and expose more fender well.
BTW, do you plan to make a review of that inflatable tent? The company is sending one to me, and there’s not much out there about it.
What about the decals on the sides--I love those!!
Thanks!🙏
@@metalcloakmike if you need a Texas rep to advertise on their Jeep let me know! 😎😁
I see high load springs from metalcloak on the horizon 😂
we already have those!
Great walk around. Informative and friendly. I Really like the Metal Cloak products. I want to try the new shocks but am curious about valving for heavier weights, ie diesel, bumper, winch, lights etc…
I need to test them to find this out :)

@@metalcloakmike Good info.
2 doors are better daily drivers and better wheelers.
much agreed! I love my short wheelbase!

Im curious as to how the exra top weight has affected his performance.

I am not sure, he said it was already on the jeep when he bought it. Its not Metalcloak.
It's made by CAVFAB and pretty stout. Metalcloak has a new one coming out that is just as stout.
With all those mods how much of that replaces what the Rubicon package gives you ? Non jeep guy here.
none of the mods I've done affect what the Rubicon model has to offer. The biggest advantage of buying a Rubicon is the Dana44 axles, Lockers and gearing... all of which I still have.

Hmmmm I beg to differ on the title haha
man the problem with 2 doors is they are as expensive as the damn 4 doors lol
but SO fun!
👍
