I’ve got a 2 door 07 3.8 ltr JK. It’s got 230,000 miles on it. Had to change out the rear main seal last month, changed out the radiator too. Other than that and regular maintenance I’ve done nothing. Everything still works perfectly. I still like it.
I bought a 2010 jku and my biggest regret is the previous owner . They had the transmission out and who ever stuck it in did not tighten the torque converter bolts . They came out while going down the road . Also they did not believe in maintaining the engine .
I just found a 2015 Rubicon 75 K miles 2 door soft top Baja yellow. Just for play. Too bad it came from Florida. New steering and brakes. Still needs adjustments and stabilizing. Expensive to repair. Saved it from auction.
I have a 2018 jku. Just bought a lifted 2 door soft top 2015 jeep Rubicon. 75 .k miles. Got hosed on deal but saved from auto 😮auction. Steering and brakes replaced immediately. Still great but still needs work on stability. Don't see much on that model.
i daily a 2007 jku 122k miles, I have no issues with it. I put a peddle commander on mines to take away the pedal lag, It will get up and go and keep up with regular traffic. I am the third owner of it and previously it was in Texas before coming to Florida so there isnt any rust that is eating away at the frame. It is an automatic with 4.10 gearing in the rear. I plan on saving up for a regear in the future to bring back some power and increase mpg. When the 3.8l v6 decides to go one day I want to look into a hemi swap or maybe another 3.8l but with a ripp supercharger. I love my jeep and would not trade it for anything well maybe the 392 but thats it lol
I have a 2007 3.8 with a little over 200k miles and the coolant is leaking from the timing plate now. I was quoted about 1500 so im just going to replace the whole engine with a new 3.8. With labor in SoCal it is $6300. Just fyi. Love my 2 door manual and will keep it forever
That Jeep is trashed. Granted, it’s a rugged vehicle, but repairing the top, washing it and mitigating rust at regular intervals will go a long way in making your Jeep look better for a good sale.
One thing that bears mentioning... If you have modded a setting in the BCM using JScan or AlfaOBD (my personal favorite), and you happen to take your Jeep - or any CDJR vehicle for that matter - to the dealer, they may take it upon themselves to "upgrade" the code in your BCM. If that happens, it will also over-write all of your changes with the stock settings. You'll get to do it all over. I'm not sure about the Tazer. Those generally have to be "un-married" from the vehicle before any dealer work is done. AlfaOBD and (I think) JScan are "hit and run". The device does not need to stay attached. I'm sure someone will correct me if I have misspoken.
Very informative video. I have a 1991 YJ with a manual transmission and have been thinking about getting a JK only because I’m approaching 70 and probably need to go with an automatic. I definitely learned about what to look for in my search. But until I find one for a descent price, I’ll keep on enjoying my YJ. I can always drive my wife’s Cherokee I guess.
Theres nothing wrong with a 4 door JKU. Whoever says theyre not off road capable dont onow how to drive them. I take mine out and its no rubicon howver im not trying to crawl over rocks. More like overlanding. Youll needntomaddnsome mods butntheyre still pretty capable.
Hate to burst your small bubble, but Jeep is not a world offroading vehicle. That would be the Toyota Prado or in US it's cousin rhe GX460. It does what a jeep can do but is bullet proof reliable. Jeep is popular in the US only.
Hate to burst your bubble but Jeeps are the first offroading vehicle to be distributed across all 7 continents of the spinning globe we live on. Yes all 7 including Antarctica. Hence why after that achievement they begun developing all their models with the seven vertical vents in the front end to signify that. Don't think it was the prado that took that trophy and even if toyota has made it to antarctica, jeep did it first.

how much oil does it burn
@@jasonharper9707 It doesn’t, I don’t have to add any between oil changes.
Wow. Nice
I was lucky when I bought mine they just did it (all seals). 4door unlimited spot
When it comes to Jeeps.. You guys are the geek squad of Jeeps!
Thanks!
This is impressively thorough 😮!
Best Minivan ever!
Super helpful. Shopping 4Runners / JKs and getting up to speed before. Best video on what to look for yet.
Glad it was helpful!

I have been looking for a used 2 door wrangler as an extra play vehicle. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Great work 👍

2018 Owner here love it..
Super helpful. Looking at a 2015 Wrangler unlimited sport in Portland and I wanna be sure I'm making a good purchase. Thank you!
I just bought a 2013 this morning. 🤞

I like how he didn’t mention that very obvious rattle can job over the rusty frame, you can just see all the pitting!
Great info, music is distracting and a little loud at times. Keep'em coming!
Thanks, will do!
Love it!! Happy New Year!!
Very helpful!! Thank you so much ❤
You're so welcome!
Thanks for the vid, very informative.
Btw when you say “conscientious of” I believe you mean “conscious of” 😅
We pull up the video and see you talking about selling Jeeps while standing in front of mine!
(Make me an offer.)
The Savage said he'll give you $200! -Neil
Very cool thank you!
You bet!
So it sounds like avoid anything before 2012.

The 3.8 absolutely trumps the 3.6. only the 4.0l engine tops the 3.8. mine never burns oil btw
Please tell me why after replacing the rear hub bearings, I only drive 50 miles?
What do you guys think of the Baxter performance part for the oil filter on a Wrangler 2017 3.6
Is the 2.8 diesel automatic good?
That engine was actually only produced in Europe and we have yet to come across a 2.8 diesel JK
Loves to talk
So what I’m hearing here is, don’t buy a 07 to 11 Wrangler.
Lol
JEEP = JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!
For those who don't know do not buy a 4 door, 3.8, no ac worse jeep ever made..... only buy the 3.8 if its a manual with 2 doors
Even with stock tires? I'm serious considering buying a 2007 4-door auto transmission bone stock. Would it still be disappointing?
My 2014 has ac
I heard stay away from 2007 -2011 bad engine. I also heard the 2012-2018 JK's are great

@@PeterVenkman7603.8 is far superior to the 3.6 Pentastar!

Because of import taxes imposed on US vehicles.
So?
