Dodgers fan. I didn't come here to drink tears, but to get your insights and to praise the Mets for a hard-fought series.
Instead I got to watch one of the most eloquent statements on baseball I've ever seen.
We all know this sport is designed to break your heart in a way that is different from the others. I'm glad that, even with that open wound, you can see it and value it. Your team was and is special - Mark Vientos is going to be my sleep paralysis demon - and I think we'll meet again in the NLCS soon, possibly with a different result.
I learned over this series that Grimace was a red herring - this team had a magic that came from that adversity, that history. Mark's season really is a microcosm of the Mets as a whole. They have every right to be proud of what they did.
    Thanks again. Take care.

Couldn't agree more, I'm a HUGE Dodger fan, but have nothing but respect for the Mets. For me, I can honestly say, I wouldn't have felt bitter or angry at the Mets if they had won, there was nothing unlikeable about this group. Can't say the same thing about the ugly Pad People, but I'll save the negativity. Great run Mets, you have a lot to be proud of. Every team but 1, each year, has to feel this way at some point. You fought till the very end, much respect.

Lets be real. This wasn't supposed to happen. This Mets team was supposed to be a complete down year. Having spent all that money the year prior just to trade it away, the Mets were supposed to suck hard for the next couple years, and just look how far they got. Not only played their hearts out during the regular season, not only did they clutch the wild card round, not only did they take down the Phils, but they went down swinging against the Dodgers at the precipice of the World Series. The Mets were never supposed to get this far, and yet they did. Be glad that we got this phoenix season, born from the ashes of what was supposed to be a lackluster season and turned it into glory. UK dude here, I recently got more into MLB after very sporadically watching it over the years. Love the Mets and hope I can make it across the pond at some stage to watch a game in Queens. Gotta hand it to the Dodgers they are a super team and outplayed us but no way did we disgrace ourselves, and had a fantastic unexpected run. Heres to a great next season 🎉, need that to come around otherwise I'm stuck watching cricket 🏏 fml 😓😴😴

@@brianhernandez8304 Nice one man, I hear you, we used to get really short highlights of MLB in the UK, I think on channel 5 but this was back in the day and they would be shown really early in the morn. Fortunately discovery sport shows loads of games now so I can get a fix ! Unrelated but travelled to Malaysia last year, visiting Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur, what a fantastic country. Been fortunate to travel out to SE Asia a few times as my partners family lives out there 👍

If you would have told me in April that we would be playing Game 6 of the NLCS against the 1 billion dollar superteam Dodgers, I would have laughed in your face. This year was absolutely one to look back on. Dodgers were simply the better team and built more for the moment. The future is bright in Queens. Hold your heads up high. Love the content, Joily. See you in Port St. Lucie.

Proud of this group, they had a great season and Vientos has cemented himself as one of the best young stars in the game. He'll be a big piece moving forward, perhaps Acuna too and certainly Alvarez. We weren't gonna advance giving up 1000 runs a game in this series to the juggernaut dodgers and losing 2 at home sealed our fate. We had the toughest path to the WS in the MLB. The Yankees the 180 degree opposite. That's how it goes sometimes, need luck at times with matchups/opponents. Despite us being one of the best teams in baseball for the better part of 4+ months, it was the 2 months of garbage baseball that put us in the position having to go through the WC round and burn arms. Our pitchers had nothing left. If you are getting beat by Tommy Edman like he's Manny Ramirez in his prime you don't deserve to go to the WS. Period.
I thought we got better immediately getting rid of those 2 40yo retreads in Verlander and Sherzer and Diaz getting hurt last year made it seem like a cursed year. Padres didn't make the playoffs last year either, same as us. And core of the 22 team was still here and healthy for the whole year, Lindor, Alonso, Nimmo and Marte.
Biggest blunder of all was Jeff McNeil being forced back onto this NLCS roster which made ZERO sense and I knew it would wreck the chemistry and upset the applecart this team was building up on their run. They did all the big winning down the stretch with him gone for a month and prior to that sitting on the bench all year. Better vibes as well with him gone, everything really worked better. McNeil is a cancer performance wise and is pure dead weight. Dudes a bum, had 1 good year being a slap hitter and took the batting title like a coward by sitting Game 162. Not a winning player. He needs to go immediately let him play golf for baseball for someone else. Have Iglesias and Acuna fight for the 2B job in Spring Training. We need proper leverage arms in the pen and need a power right handed starter or two. Our rotation has one too many lefties and none are hard throwers by today's standards. Manaea had nothing left last night he was barely cracking 90 on the gun. When he's throwing well he sits 93/94 and touches 95. Fun ride and I'd like to believe Cohen buying this team when he did in '21 will slowly but surely turn our fortunes around like Magic Johnson's group did for the Dodgers after their 2+ decades of irrelevancy and now becoming a perennial NL pennant winner threat every year. This is a good step forward in getting back to the promised land (now almost 40 years) and bringing a consistent winning culture here again. LGM. Enjoy your offseason everyone and good luck to the Dodgers and Yankees in the WS.

i hopped on the mets bandwagon after my giants got eliminated from contention and i wanna say this: the mets delivered some of the most electric moments of this entire postseason. the way they got here was just as magical. i'm listening to omg as i write this and this lyric sticks out: "sueños que cumplir, y yo voy a mí / puede que esté crazy, pero no lazy y hasta lograrlo voy a seguir." dreams to complete, and i believe in me. i might be crazy, but i'm not lazy and i'll keep going til i succeed.
this team believed in itself like few i've ever seen. they played their asses off and have so much to be proud of. and i truly believe there's a world series trophy in the near future. LFGM.
