Not just for old LCS stuff which is where all the personality and storylines were but also for more recent LCK/LPL and worlds stuff that people might not know about, that would give more casual viewers and insight into the teams or players that are still competing.

Seeing IWD fact-check these informative videos throughout or even getting a little more insight from him, it's pretty dope. I can't lie, I consider IWD's TheShy piece to be considered one of my favorite videos I've watched in recent time, so if IWD did take a swing at these sort of videos, it'd be game-changing as very few LoL content creators catch my eye these days.
You know what I was thinking about the other day... that World's where Doublelift's brother killed both their parents and then DLIFT had to just play the tournament...
I really think (and hope) that's the craziest thing that ever happens in professional League of Legends.
Happened the week leading up to LCS Spring Finals 2018, his first split for Team Liquid. Everyone assumed he would drop out but he came out a few days before and announced that nothing would stop him playing that weekend.
3-0 100T to win his 4th LCS Title and to become the first player to bring a championship to three organisations.
Unbelievable how well he performed that weekend, and how stoic he was in the face of such dark personal tragedy.

This whole event is kind of fascinating in hindsight if you watch physical team sports, because it's fairly common in some leagues to rest your starters in last week or two of regular season games if you've made playoffs. You bring out your subs/practice squad, get them some experience, and win or lose doesn't matter because you want your main lineup to be healthy for the playoffs. It's even funnier if you beat your matchup playing their starters.
CLG was basically doing the same thing but it failed horrendously.

being a CLG fan back then was such pain. every time you thought Link would be good he managed to disappoint in the saddest ways possible. and Seraph… bro was just a fraud.
Seraph did good after he left CLG and was on TDK. Link played fine when he subbed for hai on short notice to I think his confidence was crushed by his teammates and staff it seems.
Seraph on that Envy team with LirA, Apollo, Hakuho was a really good top laner.

Honestly at the time I was so salty that Link was put on the team. I was a fanboy of their previous midlaner bigfatlp. But to be honest with hindsight being 50/50 my frustration that Link wasn't a better player at the time didn't mean that they both weren't falling behind the curve of a rapidly evolving couple of years

I think thats the difference between the all time greats and those who dont make it into the legendary books- keeping your mental and still being able to carry even through getting focused or camped or knowing how to adjust and always have impact.

Basically the same champ just with better q dmg so she could wave clear. Soaz was one of the guys who played her quite a bit back then. She was mainly mid (as she has been for years, till riot nerfed her out of there by gutting her q) and in s4-5 she was viable toplane too. You just went Athenes for mana + cdr, cdr boots, Raba for shield and shielded ADC. That build was basically the core part of juggermaw comps almost every time (protect the puppy, protect the ADC comps were called like this, usually with lulu mid and sth like kog, twitch or sth hyper scaling to put out all dmg).
Lulu was mega op and was played in literally every role.
Lulu back then was actually disgusting. She had good AP Scaling on all of her abilities and could rush Nashors and waveclear safely and run you down if you took a bad trade. She could shield someone for half their HP bar too.
People played Lulu top, jungle, mid and support.
Lulu was possibly the most overpowered champion in the history of pro play. She could be played in any role and did all the support things she does now (better) while having one of the best wave clears and poke damage.
Dom pls do videos like these. I would much rather watch an expert who lived through most of this history like you than a bunch of unqualified morons misreading info from leaguepedia.
I dont know why dom takes monte by his word. My explanation is just that monte is a dogshit coach and was carried by his players. Why give him the benefit of the doubt, just because he says that it wasnt his fault and that his players were not listening to him. You just need to listen to monte for 10 minutes to understand that he has no clue about league of legends.
Probably because Dom was much closer to the scene than patzers like us and knows what the player-level rumors really were as well as what Monty was actually like back then when LoL was his full-time job.
Monty's relationship with the game is much different nowadays, and I would imagine his level of research and prep for stuff is way worse these days than when it was literally his job to coach those things. To me, he sounds less clueless and more outdated these days.

It's a lot easier to have knowledge of game theory than to put it into practice when your hands are shit. Takes like this are incredibly ignorant of what the job of a coach actually entails.
