- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- We are going to be testing the maximum weight that the DJI Mini 2 is capable to lift. This motors has been upgraded from the Mavic Mini. I will be performing the same test with the Mini 1 eventually.
I used 2oz fishing weights or 57grams, and also 0.5oz.
I hope enjoy the video and please subscribe !!!! - Наука
Wow that is more than its own body weight! Thanks for doing this. The Mini never ceases to amaze me..
How much grams is it
i wonder would it be possible to connect a second battery (81g) so it can fly longer
@@seekter-kafa Definitely
thanks bro, now i can deliver some crystal meths to my brother in prison. great video
Only 296 grams worth
Prisons are geofenced off, DJI software won't permit flight there.
@@_Meriwether That is only true if you're a law-abiding citizen, and you choose to not crack and hack your drones' software.
@@weldersandblaster True enough.
Doin gods work 🙏
When I get killed by a fishing weight landing on my head, I will know why 😂
🤣🤣🤣
How will you know if you're dead 💀
🤣🤣🤣 dead weight
Good stuff man.
Did you notice the battery drain noticeably quicker ? Would like to see a flight test from point A to point B with and without weight
Thanks for a great video. Just bought mine. I also have a phantom 3
Thanks! Thanks so much! Very interesting. Hello from Russia 🙏
Nice test bro exactly what I was looking for!
I glad this work out for you !!!
283g, so it could theoretically transport another DJI Mini and the remote on a second run, over e.g.: a river, to an island...🙂
Excellent video and test here. I’m looking to get one of these to lift and drop either a 2oz sinker connected to fishing line or a golf ball. I want to use it to set a line to pull a wire into a tree for ham radio. This could give me a pretty cool means of deploying an antenna way higher and more accurate than I can with my slingshot or just chucking a golf ball into a tree.
Thanks again.
That's very clever.
Thanks man! This video helps a lot to choose the drone for fishing!
Wow! Thanks for the video!!! Exactly what I needed to see if my mini is good for fishing
Thank you for this test! Its really cool showcase of mini 2 possibilities
When you underestimate the power of a small drone
Wow that's more than I expected.. Thank you for running these tests and posting them publicly. Much appreciated
I came here to see if my incoming DJI Mini 3 Pro would be able to deliver a can of beer to my neighbour. I am greatly disappointed that I won’t be able to deliver :(
This one is the Mini 2 but probably will have a similar result as the Mini 3. For deliver beers i guess the Air 2S will make it. LOLL
@@DroneSurf I live in Canada and would need to register it and get a licence to fly an Air 2S. I want to keep my neighbourly beer deliveries under the radar!😂
Thanks for that, was thinking about flying with my night vision camera attached which weighs 276.8g hence looking for someone testing weight limits and came across your vid-now know it will carry it a night flight is in my immediate future haha, thanks ;P
I'm doing the same but with thermal! What night vision are you using and how are you viewing it from the ground?
my mini 2 got stuck in the stadium light (120ft above ground), I can see the drone but there is no one can help me to rescue the drone. I was wondering if another Mini 2 can attach a fishing string and rescue the one that got stuck?
On the screen, it warns about battery remaining drain time...that´s precious info...
When your mini can cary your phone
Hey if you are saying about the drone weight in grams in the beginning then why to switch to the stupid ounces??? Imperial sux
When your mini can cary another mini
Infinite power in theory
Yes
You said normal mode at the end, what can it lift in sport mode?
Great video. Was definitely curious about this. Just bought a remote drop system for mine and this info will be quiet handy.
Very good test. I'm sure there are many people that will want to add cameras- fpv gear etc and need to know the payload capacity. Very nice video.
Actually I was thinking of light to iluminate some landscape
Gave you first like um ya good test i just bought the Mini 2 this past Sunday so im looking forward to that, oh no big deal but you still have stickers on your drone
Hope you enjoy it and thank you for Likes !!

I want this drone exactly for delivering fishing bait far into the water. this is the drone I want some day.
Great video! Thanks!
I wouldn’t push over 250 grams with the DJI mini 2 , you could get burnout in the motors because the have to work so hard to hold the weight , I have a 35 gram drop system for my DJI Mini 2 that works well over a mile up & mind you I’m a 107 pilot here in the U.S. . I ve dropped stuff from my drone & yes it’s way cool to do , I have a friend the lives Nextdoor to me who bough a R.C. Skydiver that’s 200 grams & it’s cool to see this this thing glide down back to earth & he can control every aspect of this thing , it has mini servos in it to control its every move & that’s cool just because he can control it making it to were he can fly it & land anywhere , I drop it & watch it go from the camera on my drone , their are guys out there that drop bunches or these things from R.C. Aircraft & it’s way cool to see in real life . The one very cool thing me & my Nextdoor neighbor do with our kids is I strap a mini Nerf vortex whistling football to my drone & I,ll take it up to 400 feet & drop it & both of our kids try to catch it , it’s very hard to do because at 400 feet you can’t hear or see were the drones at & you can’t see the football because it’s so small , at about 200 feet you can hear the footballs incoming whistle & start to see it & by then it has reached its terminal velocity & it’s very fast & hard to catch & very loud & being its Nerf , it doesn’t hurt if you get hi by it , very fun to do .
Thaaaank you for doing this review bro. I'm a fisherman and THIS is exactly what I've been looking for. When that drone reached 8oz comfortably i was sold!
Great vid bud and thanks again
Hey bro how did you ? Was looking to do the same. Also what release latch did you get of you got the drone already?
@@billzofficialmusic I got my drone yesterday and we ordered a payload kit off of Amazon it should be here Friday I’ll let you know once it comes and i test it out surf fishing

Do you happen to know the density altitude during the test? I'm sure you could get more performance on a colder day.
Pretty sure it would be negligible, 10% qt most
you should do a long test range with that device you put on should be really interesting ! thank you anyway.
at least the wind is not gonna blow you off course easily... why not strap weight directly to chassis?
Very good video 👍👍

Thank you so so much for bringing this critical video. it means a lot. What is the meaning of ESC beeping?
Overheating, he's burning up his drone's ESC. Not a good idea.
I was waiting for it to overheat. Impressive.
Cool !
Hey I'm actually looking if it's possible to Dual Lock a powerbank straight on the drone and to fly it while charging :P
You look like the kind of guy who would try that, and (little bait) it seems like nobody ever thought about it online xD
Powerbanks are usually pretty cheap and heavy and would barely increase flight time since it would be using more power. Apart from all that, the Mini 2 doesn't allow flight while charging.
But what about a slightly bigger battery?
That is impressive but a great way to burn up your motors.
Burn? 😅
Jahauauauauauauauauauauauauauahauauauauauuauauauauauauaa
Very cool!
Where did you get your mount I have a fold 4 and it doesn't fit on my controller
Lift 10 Oz = 283 g with drone weight of 237 g, or, Lifting weight / Drone Weight = 283 / 237 = 1.20x.
Does that mean with or without payload mode?
Can you try to mount a insta 360 2x
This is very impressive. For the record, I believe that the FAA considers the payload in determining the gross weight of a drone, so there's always the chance that a busybody might give you a hard time when running lifting flights.
How does your drone weigh 237, when others have weigh theirs and got 249?
Mine weighs 237 also (238 with decals, lol)
PS I was curious as to the payload weight because I want to attach a small but powerful flashlight for playing around the yard at night time.
did you end up going through with the flashlight? I'm trying to find a flashlight set up that will work as well.
I actually want to try to 3d print a mount for the tip2 by Nitecore flashlight lol it's overkill on brightness but if I can't figure it out I'll probably just tape it to the drone 😆 it weighs a little under 40 grams
Any flashlight with a TIR lens and 2000+ lumens would light up a lot! About to try the same!
Lol be careful doing this as the sensors might think the payload is the ground and it might eff off into space
Dealers be like 🙌
Just my thought lol
What's the range or distance for the transmitter to drop your package?! Best wishes!!
did you turn on the propeller guard setting. this allows you to lift more. it sets the drone itself to be more powerful
since you are adding the weight of the prop guards the drone needs to set itself to be more powerful, to keep its handling the same with the weight change.. well thats how it was on the mini 1 when I wanted to add a GoPro 360,
the prop guard setting being ON always gave it more power to lift the GoPro.
that is payload mode, it turns on automaticallly when it detects more weight
It should say proppeler spinning too fast and when you stop the drone it will start beeping
strip some chassis parts, i am sure there is at least 3 ounces of plastic totally unneeded
my guy didnt even take the stickers off. lol
no hate tho great vid
They are gone already!!
@@DroneSurf i want to get one of these drones but i dont think i could get it
@@claytonscott9942 why you think you cant get it?

The stickers weigh 5 grams each
It's ok for fishing because you drop it
This unbelievable, thank you for the nice test I wanted to know with this small drone. Actually I want to use this drone for dropping fishing bait but I don’t know the maximum weight of the bait should be.because you have the weight of the bait and the dragging weight of the fishing line.but I have seen some video in the RUclips people are using this drone for dropping fishing bait.
Mini dos, mini two 🤣 crack
so what is the blast radius for 10 ounces of TNT, lol
In sports mode, it seems to me that this drone could carry it more 🤔
Did you put it into payload mode. It makes a difference if you did or didn't
im impressed but the motor is actually hurting with this weight lift test.,
Not really. They are very well design.
lift a phone
I am going to try to rescue my DJI Mini 2 from a roof top with another DJI mini 2. Since the company refuses to do anything quickly.
But did you have Payload Enabled? Because I believe you can lift 2-3 X's with Payload on
Is activated automatically when the drone detect the overweight
Sorry in advance if I missed it but I’m searching the internet looking for an answer…. My mini 2 kicks into payload mode automatically when I have too much weight on (lights etc). Is there a way to bypass that? Even if I shut it off it comes back on. Side note… anyone upping the weight be careful of overheating and prop over speed. After a heavy flight remove the battery right away and let it sit for 30 minutes before trying to charge it hot
Can I feed my neighbors starving dogs with it?
They're leashed so I have to make accurate drops
I’ve been asking everyone and no one replies but has anyone else got the propeller rotating too fast error when using the drop mechanism? I don’t even have a payload just the device and so,e times the error comes up and if I select payload mode its fine but I’m limited to 100 ft or so. Sometimes it’s fine though so it’s just here and there and I’ve already swapped out propellers.
Thank you for making this. I wanted to see if I can fly my neighbor a beer… 12 oz:(
What if you just add 10 ounces to begin with instead of killing the batteries down like you did going up and down. Just put 12 ounces in on first take and see how much she struggles...I bet it will be surprising
Except you have to consider that the drone, to be useful, will be put to work regardless. Unless your interest is exclusively in lifting a weight to a certain height and then coming right back down, I don't see where this objection much matters.
I hit 91 grams worth of lights on a mini 2 and it went into payload mode automatically. Limits the drone to like 100 feet. I don’t know where the thread hold is for when it does this. I’m guessing it can tell how fast the props are spinning to stay level or rise and by that determines the weight it’s carrying. I put 91 grams in based on what the lights weighed, the rig I had them on and the few pieces of Velcro. It is impressive. I know after landing after carrying 91 grams the entire drone was hit… battery and parts of the body. Everything got hot. It also made the battery drain really fast. A full healthy battery hit 20% after like 8 minutes.
How much does a stick of dynamite weigh?
Close enough depending on how many fks you have. And if it goes wrong there’s a really good chance you won’t even know your a failure😊
@@brentoverby8267 sounds like a win-win

It's nice they gave the drone some leeway with its weight and didn't set out to make it at 249 exactly.
Thanks for doing the test. This will help me in my next video!!!
He finally learned how to use unbelievable lol
How did you attach the rope to the drone
By the ventilation opening on the bottom of the drone

people worried about ruining the fun for everyone worry about how much fun they are "allowed" to have.

Why would i want to do that with my drone. Its not a Cargo airplane.
What benefits do IT have for flying drones
to ship coke to my friends in prison?

oh~ 283g ,so i can use my mini 2 se rescue my mini 3 pro :)
Omg, you used fishing weights which are designed to be tied to a string via HOLES in them or attached to them! When your first attempt resulted in the spinning bottle that you use to put the weight in, and you said that was causing a problem but you were going to redo it, but then didn't use the holes on the fishing weights I couldn't help but shake my head. But I still appreciate the information you providing
It is not 249 its less tham 249
Yes, the Mini2 is about 238 grams because the new Mini2 battery is lighter than the old Mini1 battery.

The new battery is great, its stronger, faster, has a better life and wieghs alot less. Because of this they were able to add alot more features while keeping the mini 2 even lighter than the mini 1.
I just strapped 357g of batteries onto my drone. Total weight 600g. Drains the battery very fast. A bit unstable. I was surprised when it lifted the first 45g lithium battery, then surprised when it lifted the second.... And then I just kept strapping them on.
Unbelievable..lol
Hey, I noticed you've tried it in Normal mode. Is there a difference in lift if you switch to Sport mode?
No. There is no difference. The ESC will max amps that are pulling in both modes.
RIP ESCs 😅
Not really.
@@DroneSurf good to hear. I was wondering 🤙
You modified the bottle to not just cause a little bit of drag, but to cause the maximum capture of downforce possible. You fail physics 101.
When you make a video about the height tolerances of a device, it might be helpful to clearly state what you’re doing. I just hear you saying “unbelievable” but I can’t find the pertinent info and I have to sit here and decipher your commentary. Please clearly state how many ounces you’re testing, it’s pretty important in this context.
