This actually brought me to tears! I have been seeing Toby and Michael on their separate tours, (which is crazy fun for me and my kids), but seeing Kevin and having DC Talk on the same stage again!! Wow! You've all brought so much joy to me for decades! What a gift! Thank you!! Blessings to all!!
Yeah, I think he is... I think a lot of the power of his own performance back in the DC Talk days came from his confidence, which seems to be getting pretty squashed by his self-consciousness here. But unlike Toby and Michael, he hasn't been doing the whole stage performance gig full-time all these years since the glory days, mostly pursuing studio/producing type stuff, so it's understandable his focus wouldn't need to be on appearances. He'd probably have felt more comfortable if the other guys weren't still rock-star fit, but I give him major props for still showing up and not letting ego get in the way of a very fan-pleasing show. :-)
Now I'm waiting until DCTALK hits the streets again I've only seen them perform on RUclips and on the dove awards I love Kevin Max's unique voice and Micheal Tait's soul angelic voice is also amazing but when you add Tobymacs legit, tight, Dope, Passionate Rapping skills to the mix it's like icing on a cake I love DCTALK I hope they go on tour and do a 20 minute set that would be absolutely incredible!
I've listened to DC Talk since their album Heavenbound. So I'm old too and I've listened to tons of music in my life. They are the best music group ever put together. awkward 101 well Kevin should definitely have picked better clothes. It's not that he's bigger, that stands out, it's the clothes he decided to wear. He looks like the Ninja Turtles from the original movie, dressed up in an overcoat

The other two were jumping around and having a blast like no time had past at all. KMax stood out as he tried to hide in the back.

PILLAR is still my all time favorite Christian Rock Band! But DcTalk was right up there in the ranks. I so hope Kevin Smith made amends with Jesus in his salvation as Kevin did have a moment in time where he questioned the very faith that this temporary existence is all about. That can be a very dark and gloomy depressing time in life to endure. I just hope all is well with Kevin and his relationship with Jesus.

There were some big Christian bands in the 90s, DC Talk, Newsboys, Petra (my favorite)... I don't follow the scene any longer. Other than TobyMac is the scene pretty dead for the most part? The benchmark being at the height of the Newsboys they were playing in NBA/NHL arenas.

And if at this very minute the Lord comes, how much of this would really stand the fire and would not be hay and straw...or wood? I honestly see more of self-exaltation in the contemporary Christian music rather than Christ worship. And cult of personalities is also an issue among the believers. We are set apart.Let's behave like the King's children.
