  • Prusa slicer supports dovetail joint cuts. Pay attention though because they may not have the strength you expect with the default settings. Watch to the end.
    The Prusa Slicer supports a couple different patterns for cutting a model into pieces and then joining it back together after the print. I wanted to print a sword that was too large for my printer. It needed to be in 4 pieces. The Prusa Slicer supports cutting a model using an infinite plane and joining those back together after the print with plugs, snaps, dowels, or dovetail joints. The dovetails work great but need different reinforcement and printing settings than the plugs or snaps.
    This video is in 1080p, higher than normal because Prusaslicer looks lousy at 720p

    I`m new to 3d printing and I didn`t know that you can put joints in cuts :)
    Now I can make biiger thing on my 220x220mm plate \o/

      I ran into issues with the sword because I only had a single dovetail. In that case, I needed to increase the fill and perimeter wall count because even model swords are used to whack things.
