❤📚📚❤️ This Big Book Summer Readathon has me so excited! If I can finish Little Dorrit, then I plan on picking up The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers and/or This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger.
Great plans! As I mentioned on Goodreads, I always enjoy Dickens. And This Tender Land is an outstanding novel!! It truly had everything. I hope you get to it!
Hi Sue! First of all Congrats for reaching 1000 subscribers well deserved. I am currently reading Homecoming by Kate Morton a 631pages definitely qualified for Big book summer. It's a historical/mystery. I love her books, she is one of my favourite authors. Lonesome dove is on my Tbr list, but first I want to read books 1and 2. I am looking forward to hear your thoughts on The Women.
The Women is just stunning so far! Maybe her best yet. I also enjoy Kate Morton and read Homecoming recently with my book group and enjoyed it. Lonesome Dove is book #1 in the series, then he later wrote 2 (I think) sequels. It's great so far!

I'm only 3 chapters in with Lonesome Dove and I'm really enjoying it! 🤠 Thank you again for creating the Big Book Summer challenge and for making it the _readalong book_ and for letting us know about the spoilers in the Preface. 📚
I'm enjoying it so far, too, Lu! And I think everyone was right about it reading quicker than it seems, though my reading time's been limited lately. I can't catch up on all the Big Book Summer sign-ups! Man, I am still mad about the spoilers in the Preface - I'm trying to forget what I read, but I can't!
I just got an ARC of The Women (in german) so this definitely goes on my Pile of Possibilities for Big Book Sumner :) can't wait to hear what yoi think of it!
Wow, Sabrina - I am loving it! Such a completely engrossing, powerful book. Enjoy it! If you haven't already, Be sure to join the Goodreads group (at the link in the notes) to officially join the challenge - then you can chat about Big Books all season with other readers, see what everyone else is reading, and you'll be entered to win the end of season giveaway drawing. I just watched it, jess - thanks! Glad you're joining the Big Book Summer fun! And thanks for adding your link to the list - I'll share it on social media.
I have read Lonesome Dove twice and I should’ve mentioned I am definitely not a western fan but quite honestly the first time I finished it I wished there was another 800 some pages because it was just that good - some parts you’ll be laughing out loud and other parts you will be shedding a tear😢I have watched the miniseries so many times since it originally came out that I pretty much have it almost completely memorized😂 and just to let you know the music in the miniseries is beyond incredible!!!!🎶👏
Wow, high praise! Did you know there are 2 sequels if you still want more?? My husband and I were talking about the miniseries last night. I don't think I ever saw it, which is strange because he said he saw it, and we were engaged & married when it came out in 1989 - ?
I just finished deadman‘s walk, which is the prequel when they were only about 19 or so years old and one reviewer said that the first half was good and the second half was kind of strange and I am inclined to agree. It was a little unusual but next I plan to read "streets of Laredo" and I will see how that goes and the other one I still have to add to my collection is the "Comanche moon" book which I will be looking for at the next book sale I go to📚😊
I have read Lonesome Dove multiple times and loved it each and every time.
So glad to hear that! I'm enjoying it so far.
Isn't it crazy how things blow up all of a sudden?? Yay for all the fun!!
Happy so many people have discovered it this summer!
The East Indian sounds amazing! I am going to add that book to my growing TBR.
It was very good - hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the tip about the music!
