    To anyone watching this, ONLY use Toyota OEM PCV valves. Using aftermarket valves causes issues on most brands, but in my experience Toyota/Lexus seem to be more sensitive. These are only $10 at the dealer

    Thanks, Marty for these useful videos. Please I would like to take youadvice regarding my Lexus issue I own 2008 IS300 120Km recently I got low engine oil light and during starting there is a little white smoke from the exhaust, I lost 3 liter of oil during one month (around 4000KM), thanks in advance.

    • @carsplus6883
      @carsplus6883 5 лет назад +1

      If you're seeing white smoke, it probably means the rings are bad. You're gonna need new rings.

    • @vammyhouse5206

      I’m having a similar issue with my 2006 is250. I’m losing a quart of oil every 350 miles. No smoke tho, or leaks. It’s a known issue with a recall, the rings are bad. I got the car used and can’t get the recall sadly.

    Would this cause a CEL evap code? I have the code P0441, i did a smoke test and had a decent amount of smoke coming from the gas cap so I replaced it with oem. Cleared the code drove a bit and it came back on. I had 16 codes for EVAP so I changed my evap canister. Cleared the code and drove about 40 miles and it came back on. I havent scanned it again to see what it says but its throwing my CEL and ABS light. They both came on together when it first came on and still both are on. Ive heard of switching my Vacuum Switch Valve or Fuel Tank Pressure Censor or even just damaged hoses. I didn’t really think to check the hoses to my Evap canister but i checked the ones to my VSV and they seemed fine. Gonna check near the PCV valve and see if any of those are damaged but my 350 only has 87k miles. It’s kind of getting annoying replacing parts that aren’t fixing the problem lol

    Wow, it's done 260,000kms for our metric friends. Random question, have you ever changed the spark plugs, or fuel filter? I've just gone past 100,000kms and have no idea if the plugs have ever been changed, although they may have when the heads were off for the valve spring recall, but I have nothing that tells me if they have or not.

      my 06 350 drank 3.3qts of oil in just 3k miles!!! I was shocked. Only 3k miles since I changed the oil and it was nearly empty. I guess PCV and cleaning intake throttle body can help improve this. It's normal thoigh according to the manual for it to consume that much oil lol.

    My 2006 IS350 (220,000 km) has a timing cover leak that will cost $3,000 to fix. Apparently it's a common issue with the IS350. Right now I just add extra motor oil when the warning light comes on, which is what a lot of people do.

    I owned a 06 is250 wich recently changed the spark plugs (6/10 difficulty job). After that (1or 2 days after) put gas in my car and VCS, Check engine and track off lights came on. I read that can be a loose gas cap or a vacum hose. Check for any loose hose but don't see any. Any ideas on that?

    • @MartyMotoring
      @MartyMotoring  5 лет назад

      Hm that’s strange. Might be bad gas? I’d get the code read off the OBD2 port and go from there. Sometimes octane booster in the tank can help and tighten the cap. See what happens
