      There is this thing called stress which releases cortisol in the blood stream. It causes health issues, such as, high blood pressure, diabetes, crushing syndrome, and other problems. This is killing our men.
      The body was not meant to be under so much stress, and the black man is under a lot of stress no matter his class. While Mr. Graham sits there so we'll put together, you better believe he paid a healthy price to navigate the environment in which he grew and worked. I can only imagine.
      Fathers have to talk to their sons about the things they will face as a man. Also, boys have to learn young how to protect their psyche by staying away from things that will bring harm and hurt to them.

    Mr. Graham handled this interview with grace especially in light of Roger’s past at Fox News and the racist culture that he fostered. I cringe seeing his bigotry reveal itself more and more towards the end of the interview.

    Honestly, Black's do better with segregation. Jim Crow came about not just because southern whites lost the war, but also because blacks were progressing a lot faster than whites expected. We were on the move! Even Dr Martin Luther King, whose father told him not to get involved in the civil rights movement, regretted helping to end segregation. He later said he led his people into a burning house.
    RIP to Lawrence Otis Graham. He revealed a lot in his books, which can be dangerous because you create a lot of hateful enemies.

      Why oh WHY DO BLACKS STII FEEL THE NEED OF THE AS APPROVAL OF WHITE SOCIETY? I noticed when I was living in California all races of people had their community and no one was trying trying to live in a black community or the ghetto. So why are we?

    • @v.a.993
      @v.a.993 Год назад +2

      To some extent Blacks did do better socially when segregation was in place. But that did not immune them to the devastating effects of racism e.g., white mobs and political forces destroying Black Wall Streets, redlining etc.

    I'm 55 now, but in 1976 while sitting in a kitchen talking to a woman, that I was seeing with her sister present, the monkey house statement brought this memory back to me. I said to the sisters at that time, I am concerned that black people will learn to imitate the white people in the future. Just like that I said. you see this place called the monkey house for me is reverse discrimination since black people hire white people to reside there while employed as servants. At the time black ministers and preacher lead the churches dressed in suits and ties, while the women were dressed as tidy. I saw this coming but could not understand why. No clue that a black elite was already at large. Now today after learning hearing this, talk about an eye opener.

    group!
    which made the reading experience even more special.
    I immediately thought I don’t think some of these people consider themselves “elite “
    When it came time to sell my house, I proudly displayed a copy on the coffee table, hoping kindred spirits would buy my house !
