Thanks a million for having us!! Mega shout outs to Ruby Fields, Jacko from Beddy Rays, Anna from Teen Jesus and The Jean Teasers, Kell from Totty and the legendary Brewster Brothers from The Angels for joining us on this tune!!!
The sudden anger at 2:55 with the “no way get fucked; fuck off!” Made me tear up from the passion and joy. Can’t wait for this to get added to Apple Music
@@rowanrulezchaching9758 not aussie, but basically it’s a chant with relatively unknown origins even to The Angels where the crowd would shout back “No way, get fucked, fuck off” after the “Am i ever gonna see your face again” part is sung live.
And this is why Like A Version is the best single radio segment in Australia possibly the world 🥰🥰 😁Every now and then we get gifted a new classic and the Dune Rats and Friends just created a new wave of happiness with this amazing LAV...It doesnt get much better than this anywhere so thank you to all involved because this is going to continue to be played many times to come ❤❤
This legit gets better with every listen. An Aussie Rock classic, not only featuring the original members of The Angels, but the gold standard plethora of current Aussie superstar musicians Add in that they didn't shirk away from the classic Aussie mannerism A legitimate chance to make it back-to-back LAV Hottest 100 winners Just flawless imo
This is wonderful. Started out thinking "Makes sense, they're not going to sing THAT lyric" but oh no, it just got better. And seeing the Brewster Brothers there too, absolutely fantastic. It's things like this that make the ABC and Triple/Double J a National Treasure.
Doc Neeson would of loved that!! The Angels was my first gig back in 1990… this was a fitting tribute to absolute legends of Australian music, well done all!!
Bloody awesome I was planting lettuce on me tractor when I herd this almost blow the speaker in the thing up.. truly one of the best like a versions I've herd
This was the first (and last) rock song ever played at my private school (Barker College) - the band consisted of 4 Yr 11-12 students and a teacher. It was the "last" because we all screamed the reply to the chorus. The senior staff weren't impressed, but it goes down as one of the most legendary pieces of live music I've ever heard. Thumbs up for Mall Rats getting two of the original Angels band members to play it with them! This version is just awesome...
Amazing performance everybody! Bumped into the dune rats at a bar in bali a couple months ago, amazing lads, and they told me about how they were thinking about using this song for like a version. I told them how i had just seen the angels dark room tour, and that the "no way get f..." line was the highlight energy still of the show - crazy seeing the final product with actually securing the brewster brothers in the performance!
Great to see the Brewster brothers banging it out again. I saw the Angels late 1978 in a Blacktown pub, and many more times after. I'll never forget when Doc sprayed water on me as he performed this classic song. Thanks for a great performance and memories of the best pub band .
An instant classic like a version cover! I look forward to listening to it over and over for years to come and hopefully get my kids to fall in love with it just as I did from my parents! Great work to everyone involved!
@@glennstatham960 that'll so epic! It's great to have it these incredible artists show their love to the previous generations music! I can only imagine growing up in a time with that playing on the radio!
The Angels were my dad's favourite band. He grew up with them as his soundtrack, and every time they would play local (usually the Dee Why RSL) he'd get dressed up in his leather jacket and go down with his best mate to trash around to them and come home roaring drunk. He'd be absolutely smitten with this cover, so so so good to have classic Aussie rock still being enjoyed by the modern crowd. Congrats Dunies and friends, you've done it proud. And yes I am a couple of rumbos deep and I will not apologise for party rocking.
SUCH a vibe! Heard this whilst listening to the hottest 100 on a boat in Sydney harbour and had no shame yelling my excitement at one of my favourite old Aussie rock songs. So glad to see the legends in this video too Thank you for honouring the fellas ❤
Sw Doc and the boys in Hobart many years ago - I still remember the joy on Doc's face when we chanted the traditional response. Awesome job girls and boys, just awesome. Thanks for the memories.
What a cracker. Well done to all involved. Made my 50 something heart warm to see Rick & John, hear that killer lead, and see all you youngsters rocking out.
New energy injected into a classic. Looking forward to seeing the rebooted Angels soon at Sandstone Point supporting Suzi Quatro. Seen them multiple times and worthy of carrying on the classic line up. Glad to have seen them with Doc (RIP) though. I'll be the one wearing the ironic "Insecurity" t-shirt.
So after hearing this live on the radio I waited patiently for the video and then still waited until I had the chance to catch up with my mother. As all parents do she formed my taste in music young before I ventured into my own territory which she was never much of a huge fan of. However when I was telling her about hearing this on the radio, before showing it to her, she said one thing of it and that was "they better have done the uncut version" Needless to say my 53 year old mother's neighbours are now questioning her age🤣🤣

Awesome cover guys!!! I do have to ask about the Tarakan hat though, what's the connection to the old trash can???
that was incredible.
Loved this to the max
Best thing ever. Oi oi oi.
Mountains come and go but Aussie pub rock lives on forever
I shed a little tear watching this. Long live Aussie rock and roll.
Yeah, and long die black American rap shite.
Fucking oath mate 🤘🏼
Oz Rock is having a Renaissance. People are finally tuning into just how uniquely brilliant the best of it was.
I was telling my daughter of all the great bands I got to see in the 80s and 90s .Divinyls, Angels, Dragon, The Mentals.
Song of the year, what a cover. Absolutely criminal if this track is not Hot 100 #1 in January.
#23
Please stand for the national anthem 🫡
The response to the chorus should be part of the citizenship test
If I had the afordy to make this the nashanal amfom I will

My 8 cents well spent……adjust for inflation as appropriate🤓
It's not a lyric.
@@shaylenejohnhoffman6618 Yea I'm aware it's something that's been added on - even The Angels aren't quite sure of its origin.
An absolute joy. How cool to have the Brewsters get in on it too! Incredible ensemble
Legendary
Surely this becomes a regular of their live set list now...
Up there as one for the best like a versions! Fucking killed it!

So good. After all my requests for The Angels to be played on Triple J the Dune Rats made it come true.
hopefully angels never played again, yikes
They did it right. I was worried for a bit that they weren't going to, but they smashed it. Big smile.
