- Sup everybody!!! This is part one of the episode, but basically covers just Dany and Jon's first meeting! It's one of the biggest meetings in TV history, so I decided to give it its full due! The rest of the show reactions are going up very shortly!

When you put it like that, sure it wasn't so peaceful. But the fact is, þose things didn't happen one right after the other & it was usually exigent circumstances that began those fights, the blame not being entirely on the Starks or the Targs (apart from Dance of Dragons).
It was all the Targaryens' fault, they originated the Blackfyres with their constant adultery, they antagonized the septons and shit, all because of their incestuous traditions to keep the bloodline 'pure'.
Just like Islam. Spreading Peace and Love since 600 AD through Wars, Rapes, Suicide Bombs, Religious Conquests, Sectarian Wars and Genocides.
Joshua Baratheon haha my thoughts exactly. Targeryans only ruled for 2 and a half centuries , starks were loyal to targs till mad king but there were a lot of bloody battles . Only peace time was during the ruling of jaeherys ,viserys l and a few others

I'm glad that the meeting didn't go as peachy as everyone wanted. There was no real reason for Jon and Danny to be like "Oh! Friends!!!!" at their first meeting.
I loved Jon so much in this episode. He won't back down because he owes it to his people not to. I honestly think Dany gained some respect for him because of that.

This is the most "tensed
" scene in GOT. I had to watch the audience reaction but it seems this audience didn't receive it the way I did.
I'm trying to understand why people have such a problem with Dany asking Jon to bend the knee in this scene! Just being objective I see someone trying to come back to take what is their birthright. Anyone who is going to rule the seven kingdoms whether it be Dany, Cersei or an average man is going to ask people to bend the knee. Presentation is key, if you want to be a ruler then you act like a ruler would.
But they both also made mistakes, Jon for expecting someone to join his white walker cause, when no one has seen one in how many years? They're like a bedtime story you tell your kids. Plus he was a little hypocritical for judging her about her father's actions when he just spared two kids for their father's actions. Then with Dany, even though I don't think she was wrong; don't expect him to actually do it when you have nothing to show as to how you're any different from the Mad King. The man was a lunatic! But I am happy she's taking a step in showing that she can be counted on, cause Jon is a good man & probably the best ally you could ever have.
Where did Jon judge Dany for her father's crimes? What makes Dany's demand that Jon bend the knee so unreasonable is the fact her demand is based on an oath that's no longer in good standing to be honored. While she conceded that her father's actions were "evil" she somehow couldn't bring herself to understand how her father's "evil" actions essentially rendered whatever oath there was between the two houses, void.
Instead of demanding that Jon honor an oath that's long since been broken, she should've proposed an entirely new oath. Because in that world, her merely apologizing on behalf of her father wouldn't have been enough to put Humpty-Dumpty back together again. It wouldn't have been enough for Jon or anyone else to simply forget the fact that it was her house that broke faith. For while it is true that she shouldn't be held personally responsible for her father's actions, she can't have her cake and eat it too. She can't demand that those aspects of her Targaryen heritage which, benefit her be respected, while simultaneously wanting to absolve herself of the negative consequences of her Targaryen heritage.

Within 1 episode season 8 Daenery’s turns “evil” “mad” whatever you want to call it.
The Night King built up for 7 seasons to be this supernatural, mythical, unstoppable foe, who doesn’t negotiate, who doesn’t tire, but to die after 1 engagement!
Season 8 rushed and ruined!! All because D & D wanted to quickly wrap it up, get paid a shed more doing Star Wars. HBO had the budget & the actors wanted another season.
If only Season 8 would be about the War with the Night King, Army of the Dead and the White Walkers. Then Season 9 about the war with Cersi and Daenery’s turning to the dark side. More intelligent dialogue & screen time with the two Queens facing off one another would of been magnificent! This would have been the real pace, story telling & character arcs as all the epic seasons 1 to 7 have been. 😰
