4K on a 27" monitor is plenty big. When you're seated at a desk, usually 2-3 feet away from the monitor, it still covers a huge area of your field of view. More so than a 65" tv from across the living room. Big enough to take advantage of the resolution over a 1440p monitor.
Does anybody know when will be some 32 inch 4K 144Hz monitor finally available with hdmi 2.1? Asus claimed to release some first this holiday season. But not sure if it is true.

ViewSonic ELITE XG320U is another to keep an eye out for. 4K @ 32" is DEFINITELY noticeably better than 27", so it's worth waiting and paying that bit extra for. 27" is just too small.
I just got this monitor a few days ago and its amazing. The hdr and 4k is significantly better than my previous 1440p monitor. With current pc market out there with supply and high costs this monitor is an amazing deal and worth it.

The thing about 4K at 27 inches is that it looks very nice, especially for work, documents, spreadsheets, etc, look super sharp. I wouldn’t go for a lower resolution at this size.
I think you can appreciate 4K at 27’’ especially if you are going for a single monitor set up and using it for work too. Text just isn’t sharp enough on a 1440p monitor. I returned the LG GN850 for this reason. Just wish this was in stock now so that I could buy it!
Of course you can appreciate 4k at 27inches. I'm sick of this trend of bigger and bigger monitors. The smartphones have higher density pixel and you don't look at them much farther away than you normally do with monitors.
I have a 27 inch 4k and a 32 and the 32 is drastically more pleasant to use. I don't think much bigger than that would be pleasant though. Just the amount of light being shot at you becomes a bit much.
Theirs are no gaming monitor at 24inch 1440p and higher than atleast 60hz bud. I have been looking for days, so know I have to get a 27 inch monitor for 1440p or 4K.
Idk, I can notice 2k vs 4k on a 27 inch screen; maybe not that much for sightseeing stuff but really helps when you're trying to see far distances in games.
@@Brisingrr_ QLED means a Samsung LED and nothing more. There is no magic behind Q character. And If you purchase a Samsung (any) you get nothing special. Just a so-so monitor which is easy beat by competitors.
I think this is the one for me when I finally decide to get a new monitor. Good 4K panel outside of gaming, because of it's size I can easily lower res to 2K and enjoy games, maybe use 4K for older games. Good stuff.
sub native resolution looks like crap on any monitor. If you are gonna play games @ 1440p then don't buy 4k monitor. I hope people realize that in desktop use at 27" 4k is shit, I mean there's zero benefits. There is literally, absolutely, no reason to buy this 27" 4k monitor. If you buy 27" then buy 1440p. @@MegaScooterboy eh, I would just get a cheaper 4K 60 monitor for PS4 Pro unless you plan on upgrading within the next 6 months. If you plan on upgrading after that, then I would wait for the next Gen of HDMI 2.1 monitors. Thanks for a great video. This monitor is awesome but in order to get the full scale of its glory we will probably have to wait for 1-2 generations of new graphics cards and more affordable options.
27" monitor is a perfect size, even for 4K. I have used 32" 4K monitor before and I prefer 27" for most tasks. You can take full advantage of the monitor, no need to run at 144 FPS consistently. Mine XB273K runs with 2080Ti just fine, settings not maxed but why should I? nVidia GForce Experience will auto configure games so they look, perform their best and run above 60FPS. I think running most games at 4K and 90-100 FPS is plenty worth it. G-Sync makes it so that you don't notice any FPS drops anyways.
So youre saying that as long as my gpu can keep up, i could play semi competitive fps at 1440p144hz and then pump it up to 4k for more sight seeing games at or over 60hz and also be able to do 4k editting on a color accurate IPS display? On only 1 monitor? For 800? That sounds like a good package to me...
@@Thetechchap wow wait. As far as I know, since 4k is native resolution, changing resolution make the graphics blurry and native resolution is a hardware issue for monitor. The pixels are built. So you either buy 2k or 4k and then scale at windows. Can you elaborate?
@@Thetechchap Thanks. This issue was on my mind and clarification from you made it better. Btw, imho, 4K gaming at 27" is good but because of scaling (for productivity issues - I google regulations for work) it is bad. I may upgrade from laptop GTX 1070 to desktop RTX 3070 or 3080 and probably buy ASUS PG329Q monitor. Waiting for that monitor review. Cheers :)
@Warm Soft Kitty Thank you for the your contribution. However, mainly I will go with Tom's (Tech Chap) comment because it is also what I have commonly heard and it is hardware issue (some people also on reddit mentioned that some monitors support various resolution depending on their hardware panel structure etc.). Also, at 70-90 cm 1440p is the go for me (32" : I need about 90 DPI. For gaming 120+ DPI is good so it would be great if I could get a 4k monitor which could perfectly switch to 2k but I dont expect it) Also, I can say I am a competitive CS 1.6 gamer with GTX 1070 :D so high refresh rate and low input rate is crucial for me and I got killed because of it at my 120 hz 5ms monitor which is actually 20-30ms)
I made the mistake of buying a 4k 27 inch, I didn't realise it until I bought a high refresh rate 1440p monitor where I literally couldn't tell a difference between the 1440p and 4k at 27 inch. I lost FPS for no reason.
Wait until the new year! Check HDMI 2.1 that’s what you need to get the best out of the new consoles. OLED TVs have it but no monitor yet has it but apparently making them for next year . Will then enable 4k 120fps which will look insane
Just bought this monitor for 300$ off of Amazon, hoping it can be a workhorse for editing and gaming. It’ll give me a reason to finally upgrade my 3060!
@@gasparmxm That makes no sense, and there is a fan for the controller. No G-sync module, but they decided it gets hot enough to need a fan. Look it up on reddit. LG is not about to post about it.
@@opfreak Not sure what the question is. Are you asking the difference between 1080p and 1440p? If you've used a 24" panel it's sharper than that. 27" 1080p looks horrible not sharpe whatsoever. Now as far as the quality of this 1440p LG monitor, it's fantastic. Great rich colors, little to none IPS glow, and it's extremely fast with zero ghosting on the high setting. You don't want to use fastest setting otherwise you get that weird pixel overshoot. 4ms is more than enough to be competitive in shooters IMO.
When are monitor makers going to figure out that there is an untapped market for high-end 4K monitors in the 32" - 40" range?? There's currently no IPS monitors with at least 144hz, VRR, & HDR-1000. All the larger sizes are generally crummy VA displays.
I see many people discussing "singular specs". "you won't take full advantage of this if you don't have a GPU to play 4k at 144hz" What if I want to play 1440p or 1080p at 144hz but still need that 4k resolution whenever I'm NOT playing games... I can give you my example on why this is not a correct analysis. I'm a fullstack web developer and I work with a TON of frontend. I also work with a TON of graphic design, and while I'm not a photographer I enjoy having fidelity on my panel. On my free time, I usually play a TON of video games, specially competitive online with friends... With that out of the way I present you with my problem. A monitor that is a "jack-of-all trades". Till today it was really difficult to get a color accurate high refresh rate low latency high resolution good viewing angles monitor... With this offer, every box get's ticked.. This monitor is for people like me who don't mind using a single monitor for their workflow but at the end of the day, they need the monitor to be optimized both for work and self enjoyment. That is NOT a simple request to make till today. Also people comment on how 4k might not be worthwhile on 27'' but believe when I say it is... The sheer ammount of real estate you get on that kind of resolution compared to a 1080 or 1440 makes it more then worthwhile
@@ZgSharke the same as if you were on a 27'' 1080p monitor 😁 imo on 27'' you already want to play at 1440p or you Will notice the pixelated graphics (depending on the viewing distance)
But it doesn't really work that way does it? Setting a 1440p resolution on a 4k native screen looks worse than 1440p on a 1440p native screen. It's best to simply set it to native and forget about it. And that means needing a system that will support 4k all the time.
@m1kt0 Hi, Thank you for your answer. Wistbacka the one he recommended is good the budget option is the view sonic but dell is going to have a sale on their version as well which you just missed but will be up again this month or the next
i completely agree with 4k needing 32 or more to fully appriciate it. i had a pg27uq and while it was incredibly stunning, most of the time i would just run it at 1440p because it look almost exactly the same and i would have to look pretty hard to notice a difference. But the thing that brings me towards this monitor isnt the 4k part of it. I would much rather have a 1440p version, but the fact that this monitor is 600hdr vesa certified, instead of just 400, is what makes me want to get this over the 1440p version. Im really into hdr gaming and after having the pg27uq for a few years with 1000nits, i'd really like to be as close to that as possible without spending a thousand dollars. Although this monitor is just 200 shy of that mark, it's just low enough for me to consider getting it. That being said, if anyone knows of any 1400p 600hdr vesa cerified, 144hz, gsync, ips 1ms monitors, then i'd gladly get one of those instead.
@@alfonsod.287 i actually started looking more towards the samsung odyssey g7. The 32 inch version to be exact. Not only is it a bit cheaper, but it's 240hz, 1440p, still hdr600 certified, 1ms response time, and with a 20 or 30 series gpu you can have 10bit color at that 240hz 1440p res. It's also qled as well. The only thing that im slightly unsure about is its 1000r curve. Im not too bothered by it, considering everything else it offers, but I've never even really seen a curved screen in person before. Also it's a VA panel instead of an IPS, so viewing angles wont be great, but i dont look at that as something thats too terribly important since it is a monitor and I'll only be viewing it from dead center anyways, and it would definitely have much better viewing angles than my current pg248q anyways. I was also looking at reviews on it and it seems to have some of the smoothest and clear motion people have seen. Even Linus praised it for that lol. But i think it is the one i might go for over this one. I really, really would like 4k, but at 27inches, it's just not noticeable enough, now the g7 is 32, or 27, but it should still be very crisp at 2k and having 240hz should be more important to me anyways. But the fact it has all that plus hdr600 certification, really leans me towards it more, and for being a bit cheaper too.
@@EmpireZzzz - only installed it last night and so far so good. No issues with 144Hz 2160p using Displayport, G-SYNC working as advertised and colours look great. There's also a firmware update that allows you to overclock the monitor to 160Hz. Finally, I've read a few reports of people having trouble with Displayport "Deep Sleep" and the fact there is no option to disable it; I haven't run into any problems waking the monitor up from a "deep sleep" state.
I would buy this any day of the week 4K for looking at content and editing If I am gaming I will just lower the Resolution to 1440p and have best of both worlds on 1 monitor
Does that work just as well? Does that justify £150 or so? I mean for more cinematic games id have thought 4k and then for say wargames switch to 1440p. Sounds good.
You can't really go for different resolution than your native resolution. I mean it is an option on paper, but it won't be as sharp as using a real 2k monitor, it'll look like sh*t.
@@neoNashShaggy I think this is question needs clearing up. I'll ask over at guru.3d unless someone else knows for sure. I have never heard that running in a diff res should look like shit so news to me also. But this is for me something worth knowing.

@james Bill Although I liked the monitor, I returned it. It wouldn’t come out if sleep mode about 10% of the time. After trying many things and talking with LG support I just went ahead and returned it. Way to much money for something that caused issues. Screen was very nice though. I ended up buying a 32” 4K screen. I found this to be better size for 4K resolution.

Was waiting for this to be released, and in the end bought the 260hz Samsung G7 32" 1440p. Gaphics cards are not there yet to drive 4k at the full continous refresh rates we want or need for gaming. Technology needs to catch up.
I agree. Had a 28” 4K BenQ for awhile (60Hz, TN, nowhere near the quality or price of this) and I just feel the 27/28” is too small for 4K to be worthwhile. 1440p looks phenomenal on 27” and is not that difficult to drive as well as being WAY cheaper. I’m using a 32” 1440p right now and while it still looks great- when you get into 32” and larger is where I think 4K starts to make more sense. Personally I’d like to see more large screen monitors that aren’t ultra wides or just rebadged TVs. I like my 32” because it has the same screen area as a 34” ultrawide (technically it’s 5% larger but who’s counting) but it has more height which I prefer coming from a landscape/portrait dual monitor config. They are also WAY cheaper but then you don’t get the breadth of options- every 32” 16:9 is a VA for example and 90% of them are curved.
If I were to to buy a 4K gaming monitor, I'd actually wait for one with HDMI 2.1 so that it can be used for console AND PC. As for 27" 4K, I think it's fine but obviously 32" is ideal. It depends on your desk space.
This! This is the monitor I wanted! But... that price and my BEAST rig with a RTX 2080.... I don’t think it’s the best fit for me. The search continues! Also some more shifts
Depending on the type of games you play, you may be able to take easy advantage of this monitor. Esporty games like Rocket League, Fortnite, Counterstrike, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch, etc... aren't too demanding, and decently mid range cards from the past few years can run these games 4k 100+ fps no problem (maybe at worst you go from ultra to high).
Good review. Thanks. Made my mind up to stay on my 1440p monitor. I will be planning to get the 3 series nvidia card next year (waiting for the Ti/revised versions.) I've never bought a GPU on release date.
Would be great if this was 32” but also, the low number of dimming zones can lead to weird blocky light patches in dark HDR scenes. Just go for edge lit or hundreds of FALD zones, 16 is worse than nothing, and probably adds to the price.
Its unfortunate most people fail to realize that a 4k 144hz colour accurate monitor can be used as a multi purpose monitor. 4k 10bit for video editing and professional work, 4k/1440p 144hz depending on the game.

@Warm Soft Kitty Nah, the game is more important than the settings. Bad game looking good is the worst thing out there.
@Warm Soft Kitty naturally, however it's there and it's working well
So youre saying that as long as my gpu can keep up, i could play semi competitive fps at 1440p144hz and then pump it up to 4k for more sight seeing games at or over 60hz and also be able to do 4k editting on a color accurate IPS display? On only 1 monitor? For 800?

@Warm Soft Kitty Thank you for the your contribution. However, mainly I will go with Tom's (Tech Chap) comment because it is also what I have commonly heard and it is hardware issue (some people also on reddit mentioned that some monitors support various resolution depending on their hardware panel structure etc.). Also, at 70-90 cm 1440p is the go for me (32" : I need about 90 DPI. Now as far as the quality of this 1440p LG monitor, it's fantastic. Great rich colors, little to none IPS glow, and it's extremely fast with zero ghosting on the high setting. I see many people discussing "singular specs". "you won't take full advantage of this if you don't have a GPU to play 4k at 144hz"
What if I want to play 1440p or 1080p at 144hz but still need that 4k resolution whenever I'm NOT playing games...
The sheer ammount of real estate you get on that kind of resolution compared to a 1080 or 1440 makes it more then worthwhile
how does games like warzone looks at 1080p on the monior like this?
@@ZgSharke the same as if you were on a 27'' 1080p monitor 😁 imo on 27'' you already want to play at 1440p or you Will notice the pixelated graphics (depending on the viewing distance)
But it doesn't really work that way does it? Setting a 1440p resolution on a 4k native screen looks worse than 1440p on a 1440p native screen. It's best to simply set it to native and forget about it. And that means needing a system that will support 4k all the time.

Hey, would you recommand LG ips pannel's for the ps5 ? I heard there is some backlight bleeding but is it noticable ? Thanks :)
What's that
i completely agree with 4k needing 32 or more to fully appriciate it. i had a pg27uq and while it was incredibly stunning, most of the time i would just run it at 1440p because it look almost exactly the same and i would have to look pretty hard to notice a difference.
Thanks for your comment, got to know more about the screen I need! Let me know if you find something like that.

I agree.

There are dozens of positive reviews on RUclips you can see for yourself. It was a really good product for those people that did get it. Whether or not you should trust them with your money is up for debate but I dont doubt that they will actually release those monitors eventually. It's a much easier product to make than the surface clone, all it is a panel and a controller inside a plastic case after all. They have shown they can actually bring a crowd sourced product to market. This time they will also have to prove that they can do a product roll out without fucking it up and that they can also handle customer service.
@@MrHahn576 they shipped like 5% and then stopped shipping.
The shipped products where of awful quality.
They kept the Rest of the money without shipping anything.
The positive reviews on RUclips are a scam and Payed.

"Potential Future Buyers Beware ⚠️
This sub is dedicated to the thousands of people who have not received a computer or refund from EveTech. Please do not give these people money or trust them, there are hundreds of people here who each have had thousands stolen from them by these people.
The few inital devices that went out before they stopped shipping and started just keeping our money are awful in quality, from every angle this company is a scam.
Stay as far away as possible and if you've ordered within the last few months CHARGEBACK now, don't let the time allowed by your bank to file with THEM for a refund to lapse.
Do not trust Eve's customer support to handle a refund or shipment -- CHARGEBACK WITH YOUR BANK IMMEDIATELY.

You didn't consider once that this monitor could be for video editing and video editors were looking for an review of this monitor
have the 2k version it''s amazing
How would this work with a 1070? i play age of empires 2 de. and that's the only game I play.
It would be locked at 4k 60fps, or higher refresh rates at lower resolutions.
*AMAZING Video!* 🔥
Thanks man!
I think you are a bit missing the point with that monitor and why would people want it. It's a great combo for work (high dpi, good color accuracy) and gaming. It will replace my current 4K 27" 60hz G-Sync monitor. Not everybody wants a giant 48" OLED TV in its face, especially for work with its super low pixel density
I got mine 2 weeks ago for $600 on Amazon.....mindblowing compared to my previous G9...you can really feel the speed. THE BEST for whom like image quality
Is good? Fast? Smooth?
I just got a used one from Amazon Warehouse for $280, crazy deal but apparently it has some marks on the bottom? I just hope that it's just the stand and not the screen itself. I don't mind a few scratches on the base for 1/3 the price haha.
It will arrive in 1-2 days so I'll keep you updated
HDMI 2.0 means it can run 1080P 120Fps
4K 60 FPS
you need HDMI 2.1 for the next gen to run
4K 120FPS
Lol if honestly believe a console can maintain 4K 120FPS smh most pc’s can’t even maintain 4K 120FPS.
@@zerocharisma0761 Consoles can be optimized in ways that are impossible on pc, plus they can turn down graphic fidelity to achieve it. It will be really difficult but well have to wait and see
Adam Dunne I know that but are companies going to invest the resources to do it? It’s always about money.
@@zerocharisma0761 That's a good question, but developers spend a lot of their loves on a project so personally I think they will do their best to optimize it within their budgets. You could be right though
A lot of games already were confirmed with 4k120, what's wrong? GEARS5, cold war, Dirt5... do you have any problem with the 4k120?
90% of the ppl still play at 1080p on PC... but console is a different platform. Then, yes, you will need HDMI2.1 for play Coldwar at 4k120fps. Anyway, xbox users can play at 1440p120 via HDMI 2.0.
does the the screen have a protective plastic layer on the screen i need to take off? i cant tell on mine lol
I decided to go with a 144hz 1440p for now until proper 4k120 monitors with hdmi 2.1 come and drop in price (for new consoles). Love it so far.
This monitor now comes with hdmi 2.1
Are the black levels decent? Is the IPS glow really noticeable?
Pre-ordered this beauty a week ago, should arrive next month, cant wait to rock this as my main, and use the current 1440p as a secondary for Discord and too demanding games.
Will you play with on PS5?
@@marco7838 If I end up buying one, sure. Not the highest priority but I almost pulled the trigger because of couple last years ps4 exclusives.
TheFinnishComrade i found some monitors at 144 hz at 1440p but I’m not sure if PS5 will have the option of 1440p output and it may be down scaled to 1080p. If it does then this is perfect as I can play 144 hz at 1440p on games like cod.
Thanks for the video mate. Where does someone buy that chair it looks amazing!! Subscribed!
I was thinking : i need to watch the tech chap. Literally i putted my phone down. after a few minutes : youtube: the tech chap posted a new video🙂🤗
haha great minds! 😉
On EU is impox to find it...
also what do you think about Odyssey G7?
i was thinkiong about that 2...i want those 240hz...and for 270'' is the best. i think overall beats every monitor...cause there are not many 1440p 240hz... :/
27''
I'd rather spend a bit more for a LG CX 48"
Considering that burn-in on OLED's is not amount of time static content remains on screen between non-static content but rather, the total time of the same content (1 hour of COD's HUD in January + 1 hour COD's HUD in December = 2 hours of static content), make sure you are very diligent about fighting anything static.
The1Music2MyEars I have just about 3000 hours logged in on my OLED and I’m heavy gamer that plays 2 games mainly, COD and Destiny 2 lots of static HUD and there is zero signs of burn in and since pandemic, I can guarantee most of time is spent gaming since I’m unemployed atm.
The cx is almost +50% of the price. That is not a bit more.
@@Wistbacka when you have enough money to spend *£800* on a 27" PC monitor then it's really not much more 😂
@@ThatPixelGuy if you have that much money, then you don't sit here and discuss prices at all. 😆 This is again (exaggerated) the case of $12000 for a car is not that much, but $12000 for toothpaste is, no matter if you earn a million a day.
This looks perfect for my gaming and creative needs! Waiting for this to be released in India!
chill bro.
Where are the dam monitors with HDMI 2.1
Eve spectrum should be late December or January and I think there's another couple 2.1 monitors out in January!😄
@@AndySomething wouldn't touch that company with a 10ft pole
@@Shaolinxtv Yeah I feel you; but after looking into the situation i'm willing to take the risk. The monitor looks unreal. They know that they can't afford another screw up with their product launches.
Shaolinxtv yeah sketchy af lmao
4K for gaming is just not worth the performance hit. Unlike what you say, most more demanding current games will not hit 60fps on max setting with a card like the rtx3080. The GL850 is a better option. The disign of the GN950 is very slick though.
2:09 screen tearing
How can it get to 120hz on console if the monitor itself doesn’t have an HDMI 2.1 port. A bit confused. Can someone explain?
Some games run 1080p 120fps or xbox just outputs 120hz signal which reduces input lag. I play Warzone on series x at 1080p 120fps with Variable refresh rate or 1ms blur reduction.
Have had mine for nearly a month now and really love it. Yeah it wish it had HDMI 2.1 for next gen consoles but I have TVs for that in a C9 and Sonys X900H. Plus this monitor works perfectly with the current Xbox 1440p 120hz update and most games that run 120 fps on consoles probably wont be at 4k anyhow so this monitor still should cover that. I know some games have said 4k 120 but even then at 27" 1440 120 is still really nice plus have the 4k 60 for "pretty" games because damn this display looks great.
1440p 120hz on current consoles? There maxed out to 60fps with a lot of games at 30fps. And 120Fps at 4k will be a thing soon... need 3 things, the new console, OLED or new Monitor with HDMI 2.1, and the new gen 120fps games (which is around 10-15 games so far)
@@Clarke2316 Yeah my current Xbox One X is running 1440p 120hz and if you read Blurbusters they feel running your console at 120hz even on a 30 fps game cuts down input lag but thats just a theory. Not near all of those 10-15 games have said 4k 120fps they have said 120 fps options which means lower resolutions and I dont need HDMI 2.1 for that. Even so if I want HDMI 2.1 my TVs are ready.
what was your custom settings for this monitor? can you post it?
