The Muppet Elmo is one of the most beloved characters among children across the globe. Meet the unlikely man behind the puppet - the heart and soul of Elmo - Kevin Clash.
Kevin has the softest heart, you see him shed tears a lot, also at his daughter’s sixteenth birthday and at the performance in memory of Jim Henson. Kevin’s carefully protected innocent and childlike heart is all poured into Elmo. ;3;
Well then get a reality check.. After leaving seamstreet and kermit voice artist being fired they don't have work at all. They r no where to be seen ad puppetry is not big anymore. So being realistic with ur dreams is also important... If sesamstreet was not there they would have never got tht huge
Man I don't care if I'm 17 if I saw Elmo now I would cry because he was my childhood for an extremely long time and once this guy passes away I'll be the once crying my eyes knowing that my once childhood character is now gone
helli445 my heart broke in half when I found out as I have many memories of watching Elmo and playing with stuff like tickle me Elmo or the awkward times where you needed to get the puppet to get you to "potty"
Just watched this documentary film, it touched my soul...the human spirit is so alive in this man!Despite whatever embrassment was caused about his personal choices, that's on him not for me to judge and besides he explained himself. A must see!
What a tragedy for such a brillant and gifted man to be brought down by ONE liar. I wish him well and hope he finds another business venture for his talents.
He didn’t “bring him down”, Kevin wasn’t fired. Kevin is innocent and chose to leave for the sake of children whom he wanted to protect and entertain. Goes to show his innocence even further, giving up his dream to protect the innocent. His accuser should rot in jail, I want to see what he’s up to now. Probably a drug addict or a toxic narcissist enacting their trauma onto others.
I just watched this movie on XBMC (Kodi) after seeing this preview. The film was really good, I grew up watching Sesame Street in the late 80s, didn't know much about who was behind the Elmo puppet until recent, Kevin Clash is a genius in puppetry.
Gaming Turtlez There just gonna get another person to do it but ya i twould be sad because it would maybe change a little or the thing wouldbe cancled maybe idk
I’ve seen this documentary at least three times. I’ve enjoyed so much. To see someone’s life that in a way I’ve grown up with. It stinks to know he’s done some things he shouldn’t have.
I'm very young, only 12 and I grew up loving Elmo and The Muppets and Jim Henson. I also loved The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. This movie made me cry because I have always admired his and Jim's work
As a little girl I always loved to see Seasme Street & I always wait until I see Elmo's World to see Elmo. He still is the 1st Seasme Street Character I loved so much. I'm 24 now & I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Elmo. He always made sure I had so much fun. One best friend I'll never forget.
I love how he didn't let anything stop him from doing what he loves despite being picked on. I grew up with sesame street so I admire all the puppeteers for their hard work. This documentary is so inspiring ❤
Sesame Street is a piece of my life my big sister watched it I watched it now my baby sister watches it and she cannot get enough of it I think my kids are going to watch Elmo and it's going to be a generation of it just this just makes me cry that I used to watch this when I was a kid I hope this never ends...
+rat assassin I didn't feel sad watching this film, but my eyes watered a bit as some parts got real emotional. Got to say thank God for bringing us Jim Henson, Kermith Love, and Kevin Clash.
***** You're literally the only person who would see a simple sentence like "this makes me sad" as something racist. You can't pull the racist card on everything, honey, let alone assume something was racist and decide to comment anyway, which actually makes you appear ignorant and small.
***** You are making me face palm really hard here. So you're assuming the OP is a racist. Racist against who? Just stop. Some of you all need to grow up. Your immaturity is making us all look bad.
he's extremely good at being witty and comebacks outside of sesame street when talking on other tv programs as the actor/puppeteer and elmo. Elmo's character was truly magical though.
Despite what happened shortly after this release, they did a great job on this documentary. I really liked the end credits song I thought was really cute something like “There goes the boy again with the buttons and the glue. Who knows what friend we’ll be when he is through?”. It’s a shame about the case, but can’t deny that Kevin Clash genuinely loved the art of puppeteering, in this sense just the same as anyone working with Jim Henson-that side of him was always a separate thing. But I did think there was a bittersweet air about his story. But anyway, it was still nonetheless a solid documentary
It is sad that he does not work on the show anymore they have a new person but I wish you would have stayed because he's a great guy and he played Elmo for years and he did amazing
Elmo is my best friend. I love everything about him including his human soul. I'm 40 years old. And Elmo is real person I feel it when Elmo comes on TV.
When I was little and sesame Street is on and then the segment Elmo's world comes on, my grandmother and mother's says, "look your boyfriend on TV" I'm 18 and up to this day, Im still in love with Elmo
Even thou I'm 12. I'd still watch Elmo because he was my favorite character in Sesame Street. And I would always ask myself : Who does the voice of Elmo?...and now I know. Thank you Kevin.XDXDXD
Ok, this is the next thing on my watchlist. Elmo... is my childhood. When I was little, I would watch Elmo’s World all the time. In the night, so I wouldn’t feel alone, I would a giant Elmo plushie next to me so I could sleep. I loved seeing Elmo. I still do, even at almost 15 I still do. It breaks my heart whenever people on the internet make disgusting memes or videos of Elmo, like burn him, shoot him, make him scary, or whatever, anything horrible. Society at this point can ruin your childhood in seconds by harming characters that _people_ created for you to love. Even though I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m going to, everyone should watch this! Even the people who make those horrible videos of Elmo should watch this! Especially those people! Elmo is my childhood and I will never forget how much he has made me happy! By the way, I still have that giant Elmo plushie, and the best part is, I still put him next to me when I sleep
We watched this documentary last night and it was heartwarming and touching. Very interesting in many aspects when it comes to human development. Sometimes it seems we need a different pathway to express parts of ourselves that we would otherwise not feel safe or comfortable expressing. it may take real courage and determination to not put inner longings away as childish dreams when we are criticized by our peers and we are very fortunate when we, like Kevin, have supportive parents.
my childhood friends were Dora yogabagaba and Elmo I watched them a lot but I could not talk because i was to young but one day I said my first word my mom and dad were taking me to school and there was a poster of Elmo and I said EE Elmo Elmo Elmo and that was my first word.
This is what makes the Muppets (whether its on Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock or in the Muppet movies) SO REAL. Yes, on the surface, they are bits of felt and fuzzy fabric with eyes....but they have been INFUSED with love and emotion and a soul and over time, they have BECOME real. Even adult actors who work with the Muppets say so. They don't look at the person handling the Muppet. They look at the MUPPET and give them respect and attention.
why? He's not even been accused of doing anything with little kids so that's completely irrelevant. He's a great guy regardless imo, but no I don't believe the sexual allegations.
Veronica Rouse-sylvan tbh I watch sesame street on the occasion, I think it's a nice break from the high tensions that all TV shows think they need nowadays.
My little baby brother learns from elmo and elmo is the best in the world if any thing in my life that would make my little baby brother lean it would be ELMO❤
The part where elmo was talking to the sick child and the camera panned down to Kevin shedding a tear, I balled my eyes out.
Kevin has the softest heart, you see him shed tears a lot, also at his daughter’s sixteenth birthday and at the performance in memory of Jim Henson. Kevin’s carefully protected innocent and childlike heart is all poured into Elmo. ;3;
that age well@@pinokosthewife
Just imagine all those guys who used to pick on Kevin, now as parents, with kids who just ADORE Elmo.
2:01 The ending quote got me in the feels
Emmadaemu me to

helli445 sadly he has resigned 3 years ago when he was charged with sexually assaulting a 15 year old kid 20 years ago
helli445 I don't believe that though
helli445 my heart broke in half when I found out as I have many memories of watching Elmo and playing with stuff like tickle me Elmo or the awkward times where you needed to get the puppet to get you to "potty"

@@ookam9685 just google "kevin clash accusations"
He still works with the Henson company.
He was in Happytime Murders, and the new Dark Crystal series.
It wasn't a lie. He got paid off.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin at a make a wish event and he was the most genuine, and loving man I have ever seen.
I've watched this documentary about 8 times.
FREAKING
WORTH IT
I love Elmo and I’m 45 years old. He is just amazing.
Oh KEVEN!
This was such a great movie!
I am so glad it came out before the dark times!
I wish Kevin was still Elmo. So sad that he had to go through everything that happened and forced him to reaign
I still tear up whenever I see this trailer, but in a happy way. I just LOVE Elmo and I LOVE this movie! Kevin Clash is a genius! :D

You know the person who plays Elmo changes all the time. Two more people have voiced Elmo since this video came out

I like Elmo he's pretty funny but my all time favorite character from Sesame Street is Cookie Monster. By the way I like this clip by Kevin Clash
Touching story 😘
So he also made Elmo and is doing the voice of Elmo wow
He's banking more than all the other muppeteers because of how much Elmo merchandise has been sold
