I actually did do this on a skyblock server that had ore gen in the cobble gens, so i made a bunch of these feed into a massive storage system. It was really cool we had like a planetary design with like 25 of the machines inside operating at the same time. It wasnt as efficient though because we couldn't waterlog leaves, but the design is almost near identical.
It probably was equally efficient
I was not expecting him the blow up the barrels but that added SO much to it, I love watching jaron mess with people constantly, the chaos brings me such joy

people have monitors with a non 60 hz monitor so anything below their refresh rate is lag. although some people consider anything below 30 fps as lag

10:17 the movement doesn't make a difference for lag. The += 0 movement takes the same performance as calculating += 50. What is causing the lag are the additional water particles, as just having more objects with more to render is one of the most computationally expensive parts of minecraft
I did something similar to this in one of my creative test worlds. The farm I used makes 1.049 million cobble an hour, so obviously I pasted 6 of them in to give me 6.29 million an hour (that's over 1 shulker box per second)

@Yeah_Jaron i think you can make it lag ALOT more by putting redstone below where the cobble comes out, because redstone emits particles when something is dropped on it, i think that it will lag a bunch more with the amount of items on the redstone (basically making it so that theres a TON of redstone particles emitting) Edit: (REDSTONE ORE)
This would hit the particle limit and would not do very much in terms of lag

This is why I have a plugin that groups dropped entities together into a single entity and then displays how much there is in that stack.
Example: 10 stacks of cobblestone would display as a single block of floating cobblestone with the numbers '640' floating ontop.
