  • In this video I review the Redington 8 weight 9' Wrangler Salt Kit. It's a great rod for under $300! It's well made and feels great with just enough flexibility for easy casting. You can't go wrong with this setup. Enjoy!

Have you landed any fish on it now? How did it perform?

🌴So like you I don’t think you have to spend big money to enjoy saltwater fly fishing , I have a bunch of fly rods from 5 wt to 12 wt , the ( new ) 12 wt is an ugly stick 9’ with a Okuma 11-12 wt reel and a Orvis line on it , total cost 🤔about $230 bucks , I also bought a new 9-10 wt Cortland combo from Walmart it had backing and a floating WF line on it for $70 bucks , my most recent buy was an 8 wt Hurricane- Redbone - 9’ - 2 pc rod for $15 bucks looks new at a flea market and a temu 8 wt reel for $10 bucks total $25.00 ( the line cost more than the rod and reel ) 🫲🏼😳🫱🏼 the backing and line a Cortland 8 WTF floating line was $27.00 - total $52.00 dollars and it casts great ! I think that there is a lot of hype with the big dollar brands , and I’ve never had any of the fish I catch complain about being caught on low budget fly fishing stuff yet 👍🏼😆. Tight lines !
