Yes, you do. Fly lines are about 90 to 100 feet long, a good size fish like a striped bass, bluefish or false albacore can easily take more than that in a run. Backing extends your line and lets you play the fish. In most saltwater reels you can put 200+ yds of 20 - 30lb backing which for most situations is plenty. Good luck!
You gave a good video but i would never ever buy those outfits you show when there are outfits being sold by well known makers and that's what i did saving myself $500. on a super outfit. So yea show us the alternatives out there.
