Hi I have a MacBook pro and I have arctis 9 wireless but when I go into the engine on steelseries I can't turn on noise canceling I'm limited to only a few things cause I can't download sonar on macbook witch sucks it really dose
Thanks man, this really helps. I would only add that, if your steel series had a dongle, then you shall connect both the dongle and the head set with the Mac to get the device detected.
Another review that recommend buying XBOX version. Guys don't do this or at least with some more information, because if you wish to use it for PC and PS5 at the same time you can't do it with XBOX version, XBOX version is only good if you have XBOX and PS5 and you are going to use it solely for console gaming and want to switch between the two consoles, or if you have XBOX and PC/MAC, but do not get it for PC/MAC + PS5 setup. Because XBOX USB-C port works ONLY!!! with XBOX nothing else can be connected to this port so essentially it makes it one device connection only (of course if you do not have XBOX). So NO do not get the XBOX version if you do not have nor plan to get XBOX because it will limit our usecase.
Thanks for sharing, but majority of people have both PS5 & Xbox. And a PC so the Xbox version is best cause you always have that option to stream what you want, you buy the PS5 version only your stucked and limit yourself. Especially the many people I have talked to have both consoles plus a mac or PC and want to stream. But thanks for your opinion

Thanks for this. Im having trouble connecting to engine (arctis 4p - no game dac) Headphones and mic always connect, so they are useable. Somehow I was able to get engine to connect a while back... I believe by plugging in the power cable from headphones to computer. But now, for some reason engine is showing the 4p in the menu, but says "disconnected" and I cant seem to reconnect... even when plugged directly from headphone power to mac. Have you run into this issue? Any ideas on how to connect? Would connecting the wireless dongle direct to the usb c port in the back make a difference? (not sure if I can do that, dongle is wide and I have a number of cables in order to run 3 monitors) Goal is just to be able to set EQ. I know its a different model, but would appreciate any advice if possible. Thanks
@@nicholassheuerman4589 I haven’t had any type of issues with that, I would say try giving the headset a update too see if that fixes it, then if you are trying to stream off a Mac make sure your Mac settings sound is set to the correct input so the audio can pick up

My Arctic Nova Pro Xbox Wirless came with the Gen1 gamedac (no earphone jack on the side). I plugged it into my Mac but can’t seem to detect the headphones, any ideas?
Thanks a ton!! My Nova Pro Wireless PS5 editions weren't registering as connected to my Mac M2 Air. I'm assuming it was because I was only plugging in my headset and not the base. After plugging the base in they populated on the screen with no problem.
Steelseries gg doesn’t open on MacBook no matter what you do. I actually talked to SteelSeries and they don’t make a version compatible for MacBook Pro
No I meant it doesn’t I trouble shot it with steel series. I click to open the app. It opens across the bar at the top of the screen but the actual app doesn’t open. The employee at steel series said they don’t currently have an option that works for MacBook Pro
@@Slacker22 it opens, go to your Mac settings scroll down to privacy and security look for SteelSeries and toggle on the input monitor then reopen the app and it will pop up if that don’t work then restart your computer
@@CraytonTv I have done this many of times. I have had this headset since August and toggling doesn’t work. I have had once where an app opened but it wouldn’t recognize or do anything with my headset

I didn’t design the app or the product so if the app is bad for you contact Steelseries and tell them to make a update one that is better for your needs. The headset has tons of features and you are able to customize them the way you want. Just gotta have the Steelseries GG software downloaded on Mac. Then sync the settings to the headset then whatever console you play you can active some other features
@@shawnmatthews7657 you can try! I never tried the Bluetooth option on the headset but if it connects you should be able to hear the audio just keep in mind there will be a small delay
I have the Arctis 9 and cannot get the engine to recognize my headset. I have the 2022 MacBook Air M2 and I have everything setup correctly and settings are right but it just will not recognize. I have even uninstalled the engine app and started all over... 😔

They are compatible with Windows & Mac computer just keep in mind Steelseries limits some software abilities for Mac, hopefully something changes in the future & mac is able to get more features become supportive, but all depends on the developer

@theboss9667 update the headset, by plugging it to the computer then go to SteelSeries GG software, then go to engine tab then select the preset for COD MW3 and sync to the gameDac but once the headset it updated you can plug it back to the console then on the gameDac press the big button go to audio options then presets and scroll through until you see COD MW3

Right on. Yeah I hooked it up to my PS5 and was getting little mini drops, sounded like a record player “pops” when it happened, if that makes sense. Returning them. Thanks for the video though!

Yes only a pc thing but download SteelSeries gg software and you can connect the headset gameDac and then update it, and you will get sonar presets on the headset where you can sync to the headset or use off the gameDac and select. And thanks appreciate it

@@Boba_Fatt yes you can, you just sync it back to the game gamedac to then it will be saved on Mac you just get Steelseries GG software for the engine and you can do some basic functions and customization, or use the Sonar Presets after the update

Hey man when I download it and try to open it, the installation fails. When I go to the privacy and security, the steelseries doesn’t pop up. How do I fix this?
Uninstall it, then restart your computer and makes sure it’s updated then go to the website again and install the SteelSeries gg software then after it successfully installs then you go to the settings and privacy section to toggle on SteelSeries in the input monitoring section
@@CraytonTvI have the M2 air 2022 and it’s only failing the installation process. It asks me to accept the terms and then put in my password for install and I do and then it says installation failed.

There's a problem while I stream that makes the gaming audio feel like static. How ever, if I play without streaming even if I have still connected the capture card, everything runs smooth. any suggestions?

@@CraytonTv yea i did, im new on pcs so i dont know if its normal, its just these "transparency mode" when is at lvl 10 in a place with no noise i hear a noise like of the mikes outside, i dont rlly know if that is normal, when I put like lvl 5 it goes good, its like the mike are very sensitive. Idk man i have warranty, i love the headset, but its only this problem, and idk if is that normal xd

Just got my pair and been trying to update them on my MacBook Pro and for some reason the headset is never found even after doing all the steps you just did. You think it’s the MacBook? It’s a 2017 version. This is my second pair so I know it’s not the headset. Any advice?
Have you updated your MacBook to the latest software, then those steps should work, if it’s on the latest software install Steelseries GG from the website then restart your computer then head to settings and those steps it should pop up
I had trouble too. Make sure that when you go to system preferences, input monitoring, that the steel series is actually check marked. You have to unlock the lock at the bottom in order to check mark it. Then I closed the engine software and reinstalled it

@@CViveiros10 well that’s correct it’s not the headset or MacBook try connecting the gameDac to the computer so it can pop up and recognize it, cause after the input monitor in settings toggle is on it should pop up, did you make a account with the Steelseries gg app
@@tt-idk to turn the screen off on the base station Press and hold on the big dial button then turn the dial to the settings then it will say screen off
A lot of people got it easy! You just download SteelSeries GG software on your Mac then go to settings, scroll down to privacy & security, scroll down to input monitoring inside of privacy and security, toggle on SteelSeries GG so it can open up on a Mac, then connect your GameDac to your computer and update it, once it’s updated connected it back to your console
I've got the Artis 9X and recently bought the Nova pro wireless and I think the 9X are better louder and more detailed in the sound. So I'm pretty disappointed. Am I doing something wrong with the settings? Use them both on PS5 & Xbox Series X

The Steelseries GG software is good also, on Mac you want to turn on the noise cancellation for the headset

When connected to your Mac go to system service then sound and make sure the output is good

Make sure you mute the mic on the headset also

Thanks for the video. My wife bought me the arctis nova pro wireless for my series x, and so far, so good. The only issue i have is i can't download sonar on my MacBook. Is it a pc only thing?
Yes only a pc thing but download SteelSeries gg software and you can connect the headset gameDac and then update it, and you will get sonar presets on the headset where you can sync to the headset or use off the gameDac and select. And thanks appreciate it

The next morning, I followed your instructions and was so relieved because we use MacBooks for work and game on Xbox. One quick question: can I use a pc to install Sonar on the dack and then use it for gaming on my Xbox? Sorry man, I'm not great with technology.
@@Boba_Fatt yes you can, you just sync it back to the game gamedac to then it will be saved on Mac you just get Steelseries GG software for the engine and you can do some basic functions and customization, or use the Sonar Presets after the update

Sure can, go to SteelSeries website, then select the tab for software and want to to go to GG and then hit download

My bad, the GG software is enough to get connected, it works! thx for your video. Im still wandering how I get 7.1 sound on my headset on the PS5. Do you know how? Ive got the Arctis nova one 7 wireless headset.

Hey man when I download it and try to open it, the installation fails. When I go to the privacy and security, the steelseries doesn’t pop up. How do I fix this?
Uninstall it, then restart your computer and makes sure it’s updated then go to the website again and install the SteelSeries gg software then after it successfully installs then you go to the settings and privacy section to toggle on SteelSeries in the input monitoring section

@@CraytonTvI have the M2 air 2022 and it’s only failing the installation process. It asks me to accept the terms and then put in my password for install and I do and then it says installation failed.
@@Rick-zj6wc hmm 🤔 could be that they servers could be down for maintenance, I know when I first tried mine it didn’t install and then I kept doing it after a while and finally got a successful install

@@CraytonTv i stream on Facebook using sbs and a Mac mini. I got the nova pro wireless. also, im using a Elgato hds60+ with the chat link pro. There's a problem while I stream that makes the gaming audio feel like static. How ever, if I play without streaming even if I have still connected the capture card, everything runs smooth. any suggestions?
@@rubiroba on your chat link cable pro did you turn the switch on the cable to enable the static be gone, ok so you use the Steelseries wireless 🛜 how are you using that gameDac to pull audio so your stream can hear it and you hear it
@@CraytonTv there’s a software called game capture. It allows me to pull the audio with analog.

@@CraytonTv yea i did, im new on pcs so i dont know if its normal, its just these "transparency mode" when is at lvl 10 in a place with no noise i hear a noise like of the mikes outside, i dont rlly know if that is normal, when I put like lvl 5 it goes good, its like the mike are very sensitive. Idk man i have warranty, i love the headset, but its only this problem, and idk if is that normal xd

Just got my pair and been trying to update them on my MacBook Pro and for some reason the headset is never found even after doing all the steps you just did. You think it’s the MacBook? It’s a 2017 version. This is my second pair so I know it’s not the headset. Any advice?
Have you updated your MacBook to the latest software, then those steps should work, if it’s on the latest software install Steelseries GG from the website then restart your computer then head to settings and those steps it should pop up
I had trouble too. Make sure that when you go to system preferences, input monitoring, that the steel series is actually check marked. You have to unlock the lock at the bottom in order to check mark it. Then I closed the engine software and reinstalled it

@@CraytonTv yeah I’ve tired everything I’ve updated my MacBook I’ve deleted the GG app and redownloaded it turned on input monitoring idk what I’m missing I’ve followed the video step by step and nothing this is my second headset
@@CViveiros10 well that’s correct it’s not the headset or MacBook try connecting the gameDac to the computer so it can pop up and recognize it, cause after the input monitor in settings toggle is on it should pop up, did you make a account with the Steelseries gg app

How do I make the base station turn off instead of unplugging it
Go to the settings on the base station and you can turn off the screen
I did that but ima on Xbox tho it like doesn’t turn off

A lot of people got it easy! You just download SteelSeries GG software on your Mac then go to settings, scroll down to privacy & security, scroll down to input monitoring inside of privacy and security, toggle on SteelSeries GG so it can open up on a Mac, then connect your GameDac to your computer and update it, once it’s updated connected it back to your console
I've got the Artis 9X and recently bought the Nova pro wireless and I think the 9X are better louder and more detailed in the sound. So I'm pretty disappointed. Am I doing something wrong with the settings? Use them both on PS5 & Xbox Series X
Nope unless you haven’t installed all the required updates for the headset, and the 9x is a newer headset
