Restored Hy-mac 580C at work during the 2023 Chipping Steam Fair

This is a restored Hy-mac 580C hydraulic excavator at work during the 2023 Chipping Steam Fair; the machine is one of two restored Hy-mac excavators owned by the operator, both of which have had a full 'nut & bolt' restoration. The 580C was the most popular machine to be manufactured at Hy-mac's Rhymney Engineering company, this one is powered by the Ford engine.

@@azadsmith5174 This is a 12 ton machine the first 580C was made in 1970 so it's a bit smaller than a Cat 312

I think the boom is longer than a cat 312 though
