- Hey Mamas! In today’s video I’m sharing with you a huge Amazon haul! This is a curriculum haul, book haul, AND toy haul all in one! You’ll also get to see some of our updated curriculum choices. PLUS there is something in here for every age, from toddler to teen!
There are books for babies, books for toddlers, kids books, and books for teens!
As far as the toys, I don’t approach learning toys in the way that “learning toys” are often marketed, but instead in a more Montessori toys, and Waldorf toys sort of way. I love a mix between open-ended play and a life skills approach. I am a big fan of learning through play, so although I am very minimalistic when it comes up toys, and our playroom, I am intentional (and picky!) in terms of what I choose to bring into our toy rotation!!
✨New here? Introduce yourself in the comments!
I’ll go first:
I’m Christina, a first-year homeschooling mom of 5 kids (ages 1, 2, 5, 10, & 13). I am also a full-time teacher, and just went back to teaching in person after about a year of teaching virtually.
I love the Charlotte Mason homeschooling approach, and many others, but I’d say I’m more of an eclectic homeschooler-mixing the different aspects of homeschool styles that I love-living books, literature-based learning, Montessori, and so much more!
Whether you are considering homeschooling, new to homeschooling, or just looking for some encouragement and inspiration for your motherhood journey!
No matter your situation, I hope you feel welcome and encouraged here 🤍

Another great video. Keep them coming cuz I’m really enjoying them. Stay safe
My son is 12yrs old and loves Japanese culture. He is learning Japanese on Duo Lingo if you haven't looked into that yet. I just found your channel recently and I have watched a few of your videos and I love your style and the way you teach your kids.
Thank you for this channel and the content you post. My mother and I just started homeschool a year ago. This year I am going into 9th grade as well. It has been stressful and overwhelming. This channel has really helped my mother to see things and for us to realize we are not alone in this. We are also thinking about using some of the curriculum you are using this year such as TGATB. I hope I enjoy it, and that this year will be a bit calmer than our first year. Thank you.
You are so welcome! I’m so glad you both are finding it helpful. It can definitely be overwhelming at times, but you can do it! We got this!! ❤️ And I’m believing for a great year for you!
Japanese?! That's amazing!!! (I love that the short skirt bothered you - I'm totally with you, lol!) Ooh I need to check out your summer reading list! Great haul!!
Thanks so much! I actually just finished one of the books on my list!!
Oh wow! I love all the camping stuff!!!!
Thanks! We are excited to adventure w but more this summer!!?
We love camping. The C is for Camping book looks fantastic!
It really is great! I have my eye on a couple others in the series a well!
Yes! The kids and doors and flies🤨!!
The anatomy books also have notebooks that go with them.
My name is Christina and I'm a mom to 5 as well :) We love Julia Rothman books too!
Great ideas 😊
You got such great things. Love the preschool stuff. Love that you're doing farming and gardening together through unit study. It's so interesting that you son wants to learn Japanese.
Thanks Mama! I know-I’m like can you choose a harder language?!?!Haha! I’m like the rest of us will be learning Spanish 🤣
@@RootedHomeLife 🤣🤣
Really nice video thanks! First of yours that I've seen, new subscriber here from England 😊 look forward to the next one!
Hi! Welcome-it’s nice to meet you! I actually have a few more hauls that have been uploaded since then!!
Fun! Home schooling Mama to 5 kids here too! We’ve used Explode the Code in the early years and enjoyed it as well.
Awesome! We are liking it so far!!
Thank you for sharing. Loved everything.
Thank you so much for watching!!
How cute is the Farm Anatomy book!! I love it
So cute, right?! And there are so many different ones!!
@@RootedHomeLife Yes I was looking them up! 💞
We also have a heard time finding christian kids books at the library.
Such a bummer!!
Loved all the picks!! I loved that camping book... C is for camping and I loved that leaf puzzle. Hope you like explode the code! We are going camping as a family too... beginning of July... will be our first time going as a family camping... so we are excited to combine campfire curriculums with our camping trip! Great video mama ❤
Thanks Gina!
My daughter is going into first grade next year using Sonlight's Language Arts 1 and they use Books 1, 2, and 3 for 1st grade, even though I think Book 1 is a lot of review I think you made the right choice!
Awesome, thank you!
I love toys that are educational!!! We are yet to use explode the code, my daughter is wanting to do the farming and food gather round unit. We find Christian books can’t be found at the library, we keep doors open.
Yes! Me too!!
I hope your daughter does well with explode the code! It’s a favorite here. And I love the camp/wild life unit study idea! Question: where & how do you store your toys / books while they’re not in use? I’ve always wanted to do this but have no idea how to organize it 🙈
This is literally one of the questions I get most-eventually I will do a video on this-but first I got rid of a TON before I was able to manage this. I still have a few garbage bags full of stuff in the basement that need to get tossed or donated, because they were “maybes” and no one has asked for any of it! I have a small closet in the playroom and two big baskets high up above the reading nook! I definitely have some overflow in my room-more learning materials than toys-so I still have some work to do in the organization department! The goal is to store more long term things in the basement.
I JUST found your channel and can't wait to check out your videos as I feel we have a lot of similar taste and standards. As for the Anime girl on the Japanese workbook, I'd have been in the same boat as you. So, you know what I do? I'd sharpie pants under that skirt, I do this with a lot of our books. 🤷♀️ I'm actually interested in learning Japanese and German with my kids someday, so thank you for sharing that option!!
Yay, welcome Amber! And yes-I actually thought about maybe using a sharpie-great idea!!
Be careful I exposed my son to the Japanese book and kept starring at the cover, so I drew a longer skirt on her....😊Then he didn't seem interested. (Not saying your son will do that)
You can always put a cover on that book and then let him decorate it the way he wants! Frustrating the over sexualized graphics. So awesome he wants to learn a new language!
Japanese culture will always look sexual for women. They do indeed wear short skirts. This is just part of how they women are depicted in drawings. As he gets older Genki is a wonderful resource and it does not have pic on the cover.
Interesting. I will have to look into that! The other books look ok, it was just book 1 for some reason 😅
@@RootedHomeLife Genki also starts from 0 and is the standard college text, so it's really easy to tell how much you need to do for a HS credit. It just moves faster (imo) than the book you bought.
Genki 1 is used in the first 2 college semesters of Japanese, while Genki 2 is semesters 3 and 4. Accordingly, Genki 1 would be HS Japanese 1 & 2, while Genki 2 would be HS Japanese 3 & 4.
it's a cultural thing, legs are not considered sexual in asia
Interesting!
