It is when you have no idea what you're doing. Not even so much that they found it hard, just that they were apprehensive about it because they didn't know how.
Bayougirl78 If they'd just put a plate of tails in front of them I highly doubt any of them would've been so nervous about it, except the lame guy who just flatly doesn't like seafood. Same as with a lobster, fish, or even the alligator they served. If they just put it in front of someone who's not used to seeing it that way or basically having to dissect it before they eat it, they're not gonna know what to think.
Yesss!!! That CREOLE food. Our French/African/Spanish/Caribbean culture is everything!!!! Growing up in my house a meal was not complete without rice or beans or some type of seafood lol
Blt458 Yes. Yes it is. The food is so good you can't even get a bad cup of coffee.Never been anywhere where from Nola's to a neighborhood joint the food is off the charts.
I really appreciate you doing a Louisiana food one! I just have a couple little things as feedback. 1: I have never seen gumbo that dry, no wonder they thought that was jambalaya! 2: I am an anomaly, and hate seafood, but love fried and blackened alligator! 3: Muffulettas comes on round bread, and are often sold as halfs and quarters. 4: I seem to be the only person who won't eat crawfish, but you should see how many shops, pop up shops, and road side trucks are selling them right now. Thanks!
zephyrowner I'm with you. I won't eat crawfish either mostly because they look like a different version of a roach and secondly, I don't feel like doing all that work for minuscule amounts of food. I don't feel like I am missing anything considering how much other great food I have experienced.
I'm from Texas. My mother is from Louisiana. I know how to properly take apart a crawfish. It is HILARIOUS how y'all are trying your very hardest to take those crawfish apart, but it also made my skin crawl. There's SO much more meat you can eat if you do it properly. LOL!
This is the first time I've ever seen people that have never had crawfish before make an attempt to eat them, and I'm 40 years old. I'm a Louisianian, but still. Gotta give you props on the choices... they looked like they were pretty true to the way we do them here at home, though the places I get muffalettas at look less like poboys, it still definitely looked legit. Neat seeing people react to our foods the way some folks react to things I consider outside the norm.
Olga Rodionova They're Californians. Ain't too much bayou to catch em in out there, and you wouldn't want to eat anything out of most of the water sources. lol
I'm from Louisiana and that gumbo looked really dry. It almost looked like a stew. Plus the people didn't know how to peel the crawfish. They probably would have enjoyed it more if you had peeled it for them lol. This video was really great though!
They could have at least shown them how to eat the crawfish before letting them give their verdict. Apparently these people have never eaten lobster either.
Grady Roy I know, I can understand them thinking it's Jambalaya. My Gumbo never came out that dry and I have never been to a restaurant where it was that dry.
Grady Roy Looks like they didn't add enough gumbo to the rice... Most of us like a lot of juice, when I fix my bowl it is almost more like soup, with a little rice in it, lol
should of gave them some zatarain's jumbalaya, boudin, or anything cooked with Tony's. would of done the trick coming from a girl who is from down the bayou. lmfao
That is no muffuletta. The pure muffuletta is olive salad with herbs and all kinds of other goodies served on an Italian sesame bread including the meats of prosciutto, salami, ham and provolone. Central Grocery is the most famous and Norjo is the best.
Wrong xxxxxxx no prosciutto on a muffuletta grew up half a block away from the central grocery home of the muffbeen eattin muffs since I could chew not trying to be a smart ass just stating a fact .....so hurry to the central grocery and pick up a damn muffuletta DAWLIN
I loved watching them pill the crawfish. Tails are full of meat and just sitting on the plate lol. Watching them eat Gator made me REALLY want some gator. Haven't had it in about a month.
The heads are like the best part! I was so surprised when they didn't even try to peel the rings off of the tail, like, that's where the meat is! They missed out on the potatoes, corn, sausage, and mushrooms that go in with it during crawfish boils. Really craving crawfish now...
Crawfish taste exactly like shrimp, and they loved shrimp, so the only reason they hated that was because they were psyching themselves out based on looks!
God damn that gumbo was DRY..I wouldnt call it gumbo tbh..Also they shouldve been instructed on how to eat the crawfish, maybe if they knew how to eat it properly they wouldve known what it was..God damn i love crawfish #LouisianaNative
Oh I'm so happy they tried some of our food!! Also I hope those crawfish weren't from one of those sealed bags at the store cause yuck!! I watch this with my mom and she said we would be eating them crawfish so quick! Of course you won't get anything from those crawfish heads cause of them being most likely prepackaged from a store. :(
I'm a little curious, do americans not like seafood? Like I mean aside from the generic shrimp or fish, but like just boiled lobster or crab or boiled fish? Because a lot of them really seem to not like crawfish. O.o or maybe it's just that I'm used to eating a lot of seafood because of Taiwan's cuisine and just overall Asian cuisine.
I loved this! Pinch the tail and suck the head! Don't forget the side of boiled potatoes and corn on the cob. Also, that roux didn't look nowhere near dark or thick enough for the gumbo but they loved it so I guess it worked for them. XD
Did anyone else actually eat the crawfish? It looked like the two dudes where the only ones eating it...everyone else just played, screamed or made the crustaceans do a song and dance..haha
MadisonMichelle I agree. I'm from Louisiana but I moved to North Carolina after Hurricane Katrina hit NOLA. The food isn't really special though. I mean we have Cheerwine, which is only specific to the Carolina's, but nothing super specific to NC.
ok i have lived in Louisianan all my life i only saw 3 of those but tried 2. what did you really feed them because that dosent even look like its close to gumbo and what is that sandwich?
Lol, they all reacted so horribly to crawfish! Lol and the way that they ate it too! Only one person attempted to peel the tail. Also, I've never sucked the insides :T idk that was a thing
The whole point of the video was the confuse and excite the tasters. No they can't show them how to eat the crawfish, No gumbo is all the same, and that's the same with Mufaletta.
The only disagreement that I have to say about this is they should have showed them how to peel the crawfish so that they would get a good taste of how good crawfish really is.
I'm from Louisiana, and I find it funny when people act like peeling crawfish is so hard!

Bob Papadopoulos
They should have just handed them a bowl of crawfish etoufee.....
So disappointed they didn't offer them boudin.
I couldn't imagine life without crawfish..
I'm from Louisiana, and you really should have had somebody peel the crawfish for them. Just saying.
Yea they were....just doing it very wrong
Melanie Kay That was bothering me the whole time.
Ikr......... i cringed lmao.
omg yes they kept taking the heads off and eating the tail wrong 😂😕
Yesss!!! That CREOLE food. Our French/African/Spanish/Caribbean culture is everything!!!! Growing up in my house a meal was not complete without rice or beans or some type of seafood lol
Did they just call Gumbo JAMBALAYA WTF and how do you go your whole life without eating crawfish and the way they peeled it
I'm from Louisiana. Ughhh craving crawfish and beignets now >
Everybody wants to hate on the South... and then they eat our food.
Lmao. She said she can see why we're all so happy here and have parades for everything. 😆
I've been waiting for y'all to do this one!
Our food is pretty awesome. ;)
Blt458 Yes. Yes it is. The food is so good you can't even get a bad cup of coffee.Never been anywhere where from Nola's to a neighborhood joint the food is off the charts.
+Willie Johnson I 💖 NOLA!
'ooh shrimp in gumbo'
5 mins later
'a crawfish, eww no'
I really appreciate you doing a Louisiana food one! zephyrowner Agreed, that gumbo looked revolting.
I'm a native Virginian and even I could tell that gumbo looked wrong. lol
I'm from Texas. My mother is from Louisiana. I know how to properly take apart a crawfish. It is HILARIOUS how y'all are trying your very hardest to take those crawfish apart, but it also made my skin crawl. There's SO much more meat you can eat if you do it properly. LOL!
...,and that's not good gumbo! It's too dry. Sure it tasted great but a gumbo that takes over a day to make is amazing!
Heidi B We should have gotten a native in there for a tutorial- what we did to those crawdads was pretty heinous. :)
i bet they didnt make the crawfish right
This is the first time I've ever seen people that have never had crawfish before make an attempt to eat them, and I'm 40 years old. I'm a Louisianian, but still.
Gotta give you props on the choices... they looked like they were pretty true to the way we do them here at home, though the places I get muffalettas at look less like poboys, it still definitely looked legit. love Louisiana food. But more importantly... I love me some Cajun.
No cracklins?
What? No boudin?
They can't even peel them crawfish
How do you go about your whole life without eating crawfish......wtf...
Olga Rodionova We're asking ourselves the same question right now.
Olga Rodionova They're Californians. Ain't too much bayou to catch em in out there, and you wouldn't want to eat anything out of most of the water sources. lol
I feel bad for those who haven't tried: crawfish, gumbo, étouffée etc, king cake and like everything else from Louisiana
Mac Woods King cake sucks. Real Louisianans prefer beignets.
+Mac Woods I 💜 NOLA!
The red head was my favorite to watch! Come on down to New Orleans, girl!
Agree
This was the best combo of people. Could not stop laughing!
I just moved to Louisiana last year from Florida. I definitely love the food and culture. Florida has no food or culture. Not a true southern state.
Yes!! I said like two weeks ago.."wonder when they're gonna do Louisiana.." I'm happy now!!
im from Louisiana ppl need to come if y'all haven't been because they have awesome entertainment and like you seen in the video, great food
seeing them try to eat the crawfish was so frustrating lmao
I just have to say that someone *really* needed to teach them how to eat crawfish properly.
Lol sadly I would laugh first then tell them
Yes
I'm from Louisiana and that gumbo looked really dry. It almost looked like a stew. Plus the people didn't know how to peel the crawfish. They probably would have enjoyed it more if you had peeled it for them lol. This video was really great though!
That crawfish probably had no seasoning
They could have at least shown them how to eat the crawfish before letting them give their verdict.
Apparently these people have never eaten lobster either.
I was like, how have u not eaten a crawfish before???
Same
This was funny. Glad to see a Louisiana version.
3:59, the guy didn't even eat the correct part of the crawfish :(
Neither did the girl at 4:20
Love crawfish
Ty Jerry Garza
2:59 I came back to this video JUST to here that look sweep across her face and here that sentence again. GOLD! I want to be her friend.
I love Adam!! His comments/reactions are THE BEST!
Good representation of Louisiana cuisine, EXCEPT that is NOT even close to being Gumbo.! Not even close
Grady Roy I know, I can understand them thinking it's Jambalaya. My Gumbo never came out that dry and I have never been to a restaurant where it was that dry.
Grady Roy Really, though! Where's the juice at? All I saw was a pile of rice! The rice should be drowning in the gumbo, not the other way around
Grady Roy Looks like they didn't add enough gumbo to the rice... Most of us like a lot of juice, when I fix my bowl it is almost more like soup, with a little rice in it, lol
I think they should have also had boudin to try. Next maybe have folks from Louisiana try California food.
I need more of these videos!
Great video! Thanks for giving me a chuckle.
"Because I've seen The Princess and the Frog"? I'm pretty sure no one eats gators in that movie.
should of gave them some zatarain's jumbalaya, boudin, or anything cooked with Tony's. would of done the trick coming from a girl who is from down the bayou. lmfao

baiyuchin60 EXACTLY!! Thank you for explaining this, if you hadn't I would've!!
I loved watching them pill the crawfish. Tails are full of meat and just sitting on the plate lol. Watching them eat Gator made me REALLY want some gator. Haven't had it in about a month.
Peel**** my bad guys.
The heads are like the best part! I was so surprised when they didn't even try to peel the rings off of the tail, like, that's where the meat is! They missed out on the potatoes, corn, sausage, and mushrooms that go in with it during crawfish boils. Really craving crawfish now...
0:17 they're too cute together....bromance?
HAHAHAHA Oh my gosh this is hilarious!
And somebody show those poor kids how to peel a crawfish, please!!
I'm a Louisiana native and I'm glad they enjoyed it...seeing them try to eat a crawfish was funny LOL
I was crying from laughter because they were peeling the crawfish so wrong. XDD
We're in Louisiana now, but we've also been in Montana. You guys should definitely do one for up there! Talk about comfort food!
I want to see an East Texas taste test!!! :)
I'm from Louisiana and this was so awesome! Hilarious!
Columbia Louisiana here! ^^
I wouldn't mind if Erin was in every one of your videos. She's hysterical!
Why no boudin and that was no gumbo
I feel almost offended that they made fun of the crawfish lol.
Crawfish taste exactly like shrimp, and they loved shrimp, so the only reason they hated that was because they were psyching themselves out based on looks!
God damn that gumbo was DRY..I wouldnt call it gumbo tbh..Also they shouldve been instructed on how to eat the crawfish, maybe if they knew how to eat it properly they wouldve known what it was..God damn i love crawfish
#LouisianaNative
Cajun food is my favorite type of food definitely.
that ain't no muffaletta.
yep, not even close. wrong bread, wrong cut, wrong olive salad, lettuce and tomato? no no no.
i love the video, there were just some things wrong with the items. way to much rice in the gumbo.... the muff was way off though.
This one is the best so far...
Those things at the end, look like those doughnuts that you can get from olive garden lol.
most people up north do not know how to season crawfish.
Crab head and crawfish is good, the juices
I'm a little curious, do americans not like seafood? Like I mean aside from the generic shrimp or fish, but like just boiled lobster or crab or boiled fish? Because a lot of them really seem to not like crawfish. O.o or maybe it's just that I'm used to eating a lot of seafood because of Taiwan's cuisine and just overall Asian cuisine.
Not a single one of them knew how to eat a crawfish.
I wish they would have had frog legs! 😄
I haven't had gumbo in years, it's making me want some again.
Kml I really needed this laugh
Lol I love when they try to eat crawfish
Geaux Tigers!
You guys should do a rhode island taste test with coffee milk, dell's lemonade, new england clam chowder, and ny system wieners!
I'd love to see a texas Mexican or bbq taste test
I loved this! Pinch the tail and suck the head! Don't forget the side of boiled potatoes and corn on the cob.
Also, that roux didn't look nowhere near dark or thick enough for the gumbo but they loved it so I guess it worked for them. XD
As a New Orleans girl, I find this hilarious!
man, this makes me want some crawdads and some gumbo!! I love some cajun food!
Did anyone else actually eat the crawfish? It looked like the two dudes where the only ones eating it...everyone else just played, screamed or made the crustaceans do a song and dance..haha
Adam and Erin are my fav!!!
I live in Louisiana
They need to do North Carolina food
MadisonMichelle I agree. I'm from Louisiana but I moved to North Carolina after Hurricane Katrina hit NOLA. The food isn't really special though. I mean we have Cheerwine, which is only specific to the Carolina's, but nothing super specific to NC.
The next episode should be how to find real Gumbo, Muffulettas, and Crawfish without Garnish in California. Wtf was that!!!! Lol that was Jambalaya.
nice :) you missed king cake yum...
This was so funny
Those crawfish barely have any seasoning! Thats an insult to us here in Louisiana! Good video though!
"It's not coming out" :D
They are eating crawfish so wrong!
Should have given them pickled okra and moon pies also :)
Brady Crocker They did in another episode.
I'm from Louisiana and crawfish is my favorite food. And it's better if you boil them in seasoning and suck the heads when there hot
ok i have lived in Louisianan all my life i only saw 3 of those but tried 2. what did you really feed them because that dosent even look like its close to gumbo and what is that sandwich?
josh suy also next time show them how to peel them next time and how to really suck the heads they might of enjoyed it more
That's not gumbo!!!
Best food in the world bar none.
Grady Roy... Not even close to Gumbo. No idea what that was lol
I loved this vidéo.#Louisiananative
Lol, they all reacted so horribly to crawfish! Lol and the way that they ate it too! Only one person attempted to peel the tail. Also, I've never sucked the insides :T idk that was a thing
Can't go wrong with fried food. They probably would have loved deep fried crawfish-tails or other food made with crawfish such as crawfish etouffee.
The whole point of the video was the confuse and excite the tasters. No they can't show them how to eat the crawfish, No gumbo is all the same, and that's the same with Mufaletta.
I love crawfish but there are times where I can't peel them :b
The only disagreement that I have to say about this is they should have showed them how to peel the crawfish so that they would get a good taste of how good crawfish really is.
Do Hawaii. Poi!! Spam pizza!
who is the guy with the beard? i think its love at first sight
