I worked for the Government for 15 years and was injured in 2001 and Had multiple Surgeries, Eyewitnesses, Went to The Government's Doctors and Even was Tested By an expert ( That I didn't know at the time ) whose job it was to catch me in Lies and see if I was Faking it. ALL Test, Doctors Reports and Experts said , I was Legitimately Injured, Was in Constant pain, Showed NO SIGNS WHATSOEVER that I was feigning or Gaking and injury even though I was Followed by Privated investigators and Investigators by the Social security administration. AND THEY STILL SAID I WAS FAKING. Til I Hired an Expert Attorney in this particular Field and went to State Court. The Judges Exact words were this. " When a Case is brought before me it is generally because some sort of incident has happen, Either on or off of the Job during Normal business Hours. A lot of times Both parties are Correct and are just too upset or angry to come to a reasonable settlement that Benefits both parties so they can move on. And Sadly Every Now and then, One party is trying to get over on the other for monetary gain or to get out of their responsibilities. The one time I had to file for workers comp, it was mandatory to be evaluated and recommended for by a Dr, and it was verified by another Dr working for the workers comp provider. Not saying her Doc was necessarily crooked, she probably originally had legitimate disability, but a competent and involved Dr should have known when she was able to return to work. My Doc was highly motivated to get me back to work ASAP, as was I.
This is absolutely disgusting. It makes people that actually get hurt at work jump through 1000 hoops just to get your employer to do the right thing. My boss fell on me and ruptured 4 discs in my back, and I have been virtually bedridden for 2 years waiting on them to do the right thing. Shame on Ms. Cashwell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm just finishing up my physical therapy for a SLAP tear. I did it in March of 2013. They didn't approve me for Workers comp until end of June. Finally got the surgery en of August. Have done physical therapy since October.
The same can be said for disability, scammers make it almost impossible for others to get assistance when they really need it. There are also those who do the same for prescription pain medication, they ruin it for everyone who deserves it. I hope you make a strong recovery, good luck to you.

This makes me think of a neighbor who lived across the street from my family when I was a kid. He worked at a restaurant but had to leave because he claimed to have hurt his back. My mom would make comments to us kids that she thought he was faking it just to get the money. We often witnessed him limping around his yard (like he was putting on a show, like “see how much pain I’m in?” My mom also suspected there were people who drove by just to try to catch him in the act) and then later in the same day he would be doing yard work like raking leaves and pulling weeds. On one occasion, my parents had put a large couch in front of our house in hopes of getting rid of it. This supposedly disabled neighbor came over and asked if he could it. He then drove his truck over and put this heavy ass couch in the back all by himself 🤔

Makes me so mad. My mom was really injured on the job, working with autistic kids. It has affected all areas of her life. She now has to go through so much to get any treatments because of ppl like this and a dirty in their pocket evaluation doctor!

I have arthritis. I have good days and bad days. On my good days, I can walk, run, carry heavy stuff, stand for a long time. On my bad days, I stay in bed and cry because it hurts so much. And just because you see me walking does NOT mean I am not in pain. And just because you see me take something off a shelf does NOT mean my arms and hands are not hurting. Sometimes God sees how much pain I'm in and gives me a good day or two. Maybe God gave this lady a good day.
That is what really bugs me. Yet it seems like to run for president you have to have a bunch of money, but what is messed up is a lot of people who have a ton of money tend to take bribes more than someone who is poor.
My sister and her husband are committing disability fraud in Minnesota. They're so disabled that he goes golfing, rides snowmobiles etc...and they spend most of their money at casino and on drugs. Family have reported them but Minnesota does nothing and is one of the biggest welfare states in the US. It's sickening.

You should have had your accountant come to the hospital or have someone else help you with the filing. It's no excuse! You are still responsible for paying your taxes, unless of course, you are dead!
You could have filed when you left the hospital. The IRS doesn't file for you unless it's been over a year since you were supposed to file. Even then you receive multiple notices. If you were charged penalties you can have them abated if you can get a record from the hospital or if you have a good compliance history.
I only make a third of what she was getting every month, and I have had a disability my whole life. In the past I was on social security at a time when I was unable to work and got way less than what some of these people got. And yet they still want me to pay most of it back despite the fact that I still struggle with my issue. Its sad how some are stigmatized and have to pay for the greed of others.
This is how it is. Thousands of people have food stamps and don't need them, somehow they have big fat wallets and nice cars. My wife works at a grocery store and sees this every day. My mom has brain cancer that is spreading, and mentally ill due to treatments, isn't able to work and is getting denied for all types of assistance. It's really a screwed up world. She has SS-d but like you said these people are getting a lot more and there's nothing wrong with them and they must lie about their assets.

I was always so embarrassed about it and would go to the self checkout so that no one would see me using my card. People shouldn't have to feel that way just because others lie and don't want to work.

Hope she had to pay back every cent and ended up prosecuted. I have been diagnosed bipolar since 1980 and have NEVER even requested accommodations, much less workers' comp. I am lucky because I am able to work, and I want those benefits available for people who truly can't. I feel blessed to have meds available and good doctors that have made it possible for me to work regardless. Some folks aren't that fortunate, and those are the people we should help.
So much out there about Workers' Compensation fraud, but nowhere near as much about insurance companies denying perfectly reasonable claims and treatments and leaving workers in the dust.

Yep. I have to fibromyalgia and that causes wide spread pain and severe exhaustion. It's odd cause you can look perfectly healthy. It took me 2 years to prove it. I had to provide so much info from Drs to tests and was denied twice. I almost lost my house cause I couldn't work anymore. Luckily after all that time I finally got disability.

Word of advice.... if you are trying to claim FMLA, workers comp and things of the like, STAY OFF of social media and tv... Whether it's fraudulent or not, it WILL be seen, and someone is bound to report what they have seen. It's like people want to tell in themselves...
Reminds me of the time I was going for workers comp and the lady doing my intake studied my drivers license for the longest time. She told me she did that after catching a set of identical twins going for total disability claim while one was eligible and the other was not so they would swipe out identities to try and go for each others claim!
My dad was a lawyer and whenever a client would come in and ask for help getting worker's comp he would explode and tell them to get out of his office. I'll never forget the look on these lazy, lying peoples faces.
I get angry at blanket judging people who collect disability. I am truly disabled with 2 major incurable diseases but I don't want to be judged if I happen to feel well enough to go play with my kids.

Conner I understand what your saying about your friend. I'm totally disabled with chronic back pain. I am able to do some things for a few minutes. Your talking a few minutes. A big difference on going back to work and doing it 40 hours a week. These people that fake make it so hard for the people with real problems. I tried to go back to work on light duty after every surgery and rehab. I wasn't doing anything hardly and couldn't do it. 3 surgeries later and I'm worse than ever. I'd give ANYTHING not to be in this pain and to be able to work. I liked my job and the money.Comp used to watch me all the time. I can't do much so they were never going to catch me doing anything but I understand why they have to spy on people. Now I had 3 major back surgeries, countless therapies, nerves burnt, shots into the spine, trigger point muscle shots, etc.. Throw in being ruled totally disabled by the plant dr, comp dr, and my surgeon. You'd think they would know I am legit, lol.
I know what you mean. I am truly disabled but each time I apply I get denied. I have heart disease which lead to a heart attack, a shoulder disability which limits me to how much I can lift and am only able to physically lift my arms halfway way up, mental problems and yet my friend, who has nothing wrong with him, gets approved for "anxiety" which I also have on his first try. Go figure that one out.
I'm sure the reason is is because I have worked in the past and have accumulated money in Social Security. I personally think that is what is stopping me from getting it.

I know someone who is always moaning laying around moaning in pain but her and her bf go on trips to Hawaii,cruises in the Caribbean and to like the Cayman islands etc every year and her pain on those trips always seems to disappear

I have a friend who has been on disability social security for 20 yrs, now that he has reached social security age they took the disability out of it he is now 4 or 5 hundred less than he was getting and is thinking of going back to work. In that 20 yrs he did everything a normal person could do but work scammed the system big time.

My dear late Mamma really suffered in her latter years, but rather than stay bed-bound, she forced herself at times, to grin and bear it and get about....much like you have. I get $1,800 but I also get S.S and a small pension. $3,000 is a big number. It depends on how much you were making at your job. If you were making 5,000 a month going down to 3,000 could force you to sell your home and such. People that fake injuries and abuse it wreck it for the legit people.
I hate when people claim mental illness as a disability. You can work with depression, anxiety,and ptsd. I have all three and I was able to graduate with a 3.6 gpa. Did I struggle yes. But, it's not impossible. From someone who was literally kept like an animal and treated like one from 5-8 so about 4 years I was still capable of finishing highschool and soon to be getting a high paying job. I struggled with math a lot due to being taken out of school for a long time period. But guess what? With practice and studying I was able to pass every class. It is just a matter of being lazy. It may be more difficult but you are really feeling sorry for yourself if you can't work with a mental illness.

I agree I have depression and anxiety along with ADHD. Worked all my life. I hurt my back at work am a certified nursing assistant. Ive worked for the company going on 16 years. I hurt my back and went back to school. It hurts to sit the but I do it because I dont think I'll be able to do my Job. But I know I'll need an education to do something else because Iwill not be on SSI. Im too young to be disabled. So i can't be physical. I guess its a mental task kind of job. Its a struggle my back the cold the sitting and the not being great a math but ill get there too

I can't afford to buy Healthcare insurance to take care of my back problems . I was told by my doctor that if I quit working and go on disability then everything would be paid for. Depression and ptsd are things that are debilitating. It fluctuates. Some days you’re good, some days you’re miserable. Mental illness is not a visible disease either. To harass a cop that has it is shameful and shows just how ignorant of mental illness this news team is. So what he goes on trips and has a new job? He probably found a job that is manageable with his illness. If he left the force, he probably isn’t making enough to meet his old pay and has a bunch of bills to pay. Hence getting the job. As for the trips, you can have depression or ptsd and still take trips. So because someone has depression they have to lay in bed and mope around all day before people say they “earned” their compensation? I agree, totally, i lost a body part and they actually said on evaluation i was making more of it than it was. I wasn't doing anything fake, how can you fake a missing body part? I have a disabled plate because of an old back injury from the military. FYI, you have to be treated by a Dr and that Dr has to approve the disabled plate. Meanwhile, I do have a life to live just like everyone else. Don’t judge a book by its cover. You, like so many others, are misinformed of who is eligible for a disabled plate. Just thank God that you don’t need one.

The one time I had to file for workers comp, it was mandatory to be evaluated and recommended for by a Dr, and it was verified by another Dr working for the workers comp provider. Not saying her Doc was necessarily crooked, she probably originally had legitimate disability, but a competent and involved Dr should have known when she was able to return to work. My Doc was highly motivated to get me back to work ASAP, as was I.

I'm just finishing up my physical therapy for a SLAP tear. I did it in March of 2013. They didn't approve me for Workers comp until end of June. Finally got the surgery en of August. Have done physical therapy since October.

This makes me think of a neighbor who lived across the street from my family when I was a kid. He worked at a restaurant but had to leave because he claimed to have hurt his back. My mom would make comments to us kids that she thought he was faking it just to get the money. We often witnessed him limping around his yard (like he was putting on a show, like “see how much pain I’m in?” My mom also suspected there were people who drove by just to try to catch him in the act) and then later in the same day he would be doing yard work like raking leaves and pulling weeds. On one occasion, my parents had put a large couch in front of our house in hopes of getting rid of it. This supposedly disabled neighbor came over and asked if he could it. He then drove his truck over and put this heavy ass couch in the back all by himself 🤔

I have arthritis. I have good days and bad days. On my good days, I can walk, run, carry heavy stuff, stand for a long time. On my bad days, I stay in bed and cry because it hurts so much. And just because you see me walking does NOT mean I am not in pain. And just because you see me take something off a shelf does NOT mean my arms and hands are not hurting. Sometimes God sees how much pain I'm in and gives me a good day or two. Maybe God gave this lady a good day.

My ex-best friend has tried claiming "anxiety" so he didn't have to work and collect SSI. The only thing he had anxiety about was, putting down the damn bong, getting away from the video games, and going to work! I had to try hard not to punch him, that's why I can't be around him any more.

You could have filed when you left the hospital. The IRS doesn't file for you unless it's been over a year since you were supposed to file. Even then you receive multiple notices. If you were charged penalties you can have them abated if you can get a record from the hospital or if you have a good compliance history.

I only make a third of what she was getting every month, and I have had a disability my whole life. In the past I was on social security at a time when I was unable to work and got way less than what some of these people got. And yet they still want me to pay most of it back despite the fact that I still struggle with my issue. Its sad how some are stigmatized and have to pay for the greed of others.
This is how it is. Thousands of people have food stamps and don't need them, somehow they have big fat wallets and nice cars. My wife works at a grocery store and sees this every day. My mom has brain cancer that is spreading, and mentally ill due to treatments, isn't able to work and is getting denied for all types of assistance. It's really a screwed up world. She has SS-d but like you said these people are getting a lot more and there's nothing wrong with them and they must lie about their assets.

Hope she had to pay back every cent and ended up prosecuted. I have been diagnosed bipolar since 1980 and have NEVER even requested accommodations, much less workers' comp. I am lucky because I am able to work, and I want those benefits available for people who truly can't. I feel blessed to have meds available and good doctors that have made it possible for me to work regardless. Some folks aren't that fortunate, and those are the people we should help.
So much out there about Workers' Compensation fraud, but nowhere near as much about insurance companies denying perfectly reasonable claims and treatments and leaving workers in the dust.

Yep. I have to fibromyalgia and that causes wide spread pain and severe exhaustion. It's odd cause you can look perfectly healthy. It took me 2 years to prove it. I had to provide so much info from Drs to tests and was denied twice. I almost lost my house cause I couldn't work anymore. Luckily after all that time I finally got disability.

She told me she did that after catching a set of identical twins going for total disability claim while one was eligible and the other was not so they would swipe out identities to try and go for each others claim!

Conner I understand what your saying about your friend. I'm totally disabled with chronic back pain. I am able to do some things for a few minutes. Your talking a few minutes. A big difference on going back to work and doing it 40 hours a week. These people that fake make it so hard for the people with real problems. I tried to go back to work on light duty after every surgery and rehab. I wasn't doing anything hardly and couldn't do it. 3 surgeries later and I'm worse than ever. I'd give ANYTHING not to be in this pain and to be able to work. I liked my job and the money.Comp used to watch me all the time. I can't do much so they were never going to catch me doing anything but I understand why they have to spy on people. Now I had 3 major back surgeries, countless therapies, nerves burnt, shots into the spine, trigger point muscle shots, etc.. Throw in being ruled totally disabled by the plant dr, comp dr, and my surgeon. You'd think they would know I am legit, lol.

I have heart disease which lead to a heart attack, a shoulder disability which limits me to how much I can lift and am only able to physically lift my arms halfway way up, mental problems and yet my friend, who has nothing wrong with him, gets approved for "anxiety" which I also have on his first try. Go figure that one out.
I'm sure the reason is is because I have worked in the past and have accumulated money in Social Security. I personally think that is what is stopping me from getting it.

I have a friend who has been on disability social security for 20 yrs, now that he has reached social security age they took the disability out of it he is now 4 or 5 hundred less than he was getting and is thinking of going back to work. In that 20 yrs he did everything a normal person could do but work scammed the system big time.

I get $1,800 but I also get S.S and a small pension. $3,000 is a big number. It depends on how much you were making at your job. If you were making 5,000 a month going down to 3,000 could force you to sell your home and such. People that fake injuries and abuse it wreck it for the legit people.

I hate when people claim mental illness as a disability. You can work with depression, anxiety,and ptsd. I have all three and I was able to graduate with a 3.6 gpa. Did I struggle yes. But, it's not impossible. From someone who was literally kept like an animal and treated like one from 5-8 so about 4 years I was still capable of finishing highschool and soon to be getting a high paying job. I struggled with math a lot due to being taken out of school for a long time period. But guess what? With practice and studying I was able to pass every class. It is just a matter of being lazy. It may be more difficult but you are really feeling sorry for yourself if you can't work with a mental illness.

I agree I have depression and anxiety along with ADHD. Worked all my life. I hurt my back at work am a certified nursing assistant. Ive worked for the company going on 16 years. I hurt my back and went back to school. It hurts to sit the but I do it because I dont think I'll be able to do my Job. But I know I'll need an education to do something else because Iwill not be on SSI. Im too young to be disabled. So i can't be physical. I guess its a mental task kind of job. Its a struggle my back the cold the sitting and the not being great a math but ill get there too
Meanwhile I work an average of 90 hours a week with back problems that cause severe pain at times to the point where I'm sweating and I can't eat.
I can't afford to buy Healthcare insurance to take care of my back problems .
I was told by my doctor that if I quit working and go on disability then everything would be paid for.

Depression and ptsd are things that are debilitating. It fluctuates. Some days you’re good, some days you’re miserable. Mental illness is not a visible disease either. To harass a cop that has it is shameful and shows just how ignorant of mental illness this news team is. So what he goes on trips and has a new job? He probably found a job that is manageable with his illness. If he left the force, he probably isn’t making enough to meet his old pay and has a bunch of bills to pay. Hence getting the job. As for the trips, you can have depression or ptsd and still take trips. So because someone has depression they have to lay in bed and mope around all day before people say they “earned” their compensation? God forbid he attends a birthday party and smiles once and it’s caught on camera. Not to mention, symptoms can disappear for months on end sometimes. He really didn’t scam the system. The first woman did. But him, no.
I agree, totally, i lost a body part and they actually said on evaluation i was making more of it than it was. I wasn't doing anything fake, how can you fake a missing body part? I have a disabled plate because of an old back injury from the military. FYI, you have to be treated by a Dr and that Dr has to approve the disabled plate. Meanwhile, I do have a life to live just like everyone else. Don’t judge a book by its cover. You, like so many others, are misinformed of who is eligible for a disabled plate. Just thank God that you don’t need one.
