Your rythm fits the needs of someone who finds 3D extremely difficult. It's slow and relaxing, no rush, easy to follow along well. And i didn't even know there were layers! I'l definitely sub to you :) .
How do you go from 1:10 to 1:13

Extremely useful tutorial. though 7 years old but still better than the new ones. u did a wonderful job by making this video and in such a detail while keeping the video within 1 hour. hats off to you.
This is a fantastic tutorial. Spent easily 10 minutes alternating between pause and 50% speed during only the first 1:30 seconds of your video and I've already saved hours learning basic skills far more quickly than if I had simply tried to jump in and figure it out on my own.
You clearly know how to get a beginner going and I thank you for your gift of teaching.
It may take me several hours to get through this whole video over the next day or two but after that I know I will have far more competency with this incredibly complicated interface and the basic skills to both (a) benefit from other tutorials at an accelerating pace and (b) profitably experiment on my own.
Thanks so much!
This is probably the best tutorial I've seen for Maya beginners so far! You were so clear and told us exactly what you were clicking along the way! Thank you!!!!
This is one of the best tutorials ive seen so far and like its the easiest to understand without really explaining the tools too much. I love this video so much
At last someone who easily and clearly explains everything, most guys doing these assume you know half the stuff and go really fast showing off. This is brill thanks a lot!
really great video ! completely worth the 50 mins. Im Lina and I got Maya about a week ago for my 14th birthday. obviously this is the career I would like to pursue XD and as a complete beginner to this software I feel that your video flowed at a steady pace with thorough detail and explanation as to what you were doing. thank you very much xx it helped a lot
This tutorial was wonderful thank you so much. So beginner-friendly.
Even though I'm using Blender, this is still a useful tutorial as long as you know the tools to use.
Thanks for the video!
이것이 진리이다 여기저기 떠돌아다니는 모델링 강의여러개 보는거 보다 이거 한번보는게 나음. 면정리 잘하시네

Recently was accepted into a college for game design and this tutorial helped teach me so many simple things about character modeling I never knew!!! I come from a CAD background so seeing how the workflow is different from the hard surface modeling I'm used to doing is super awesome!!!! Super helpful and super awesome tutorial!!!!
4:22 That insert edge loop tool you introduced me too. Is a life saver.
Great stuff. And the fact that the resulting character is in an adorable chibi-style is the cherry on top!
(better than how my lecturer taught)
okok
I'm in college learning Maya and UE4 for game design and I very much appreciate this tutorial. It's easy to follow since I know the basics in Maya. Subbed
Ive gotta say, out of all the tutorials i try to find. Yours is the best.
So awesome and easy to follow. I just started getting interested in Maya for modeling characters. Your video helped me recognize a lot of simple steps to get creating. Thank you!
just wanted to say that i loved your pacing and how your commentary explains every action you make in maya, thank you very much for this tutorial ^^ I learned a lot
I FINALLY CAN FULLY UNDERSTAND WITH MAYA INTERFACE, FEATURES AND OTHER BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO. THE BEST, I JUST LEARNT MAYA FOR 1 DAY AND THIS VIDEO IS A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR BEGINNER XD
most annoying thing about 3d modeling has to be watching a tutorial where they are using a different version so small things are different when making it
I’m now at Worcester university in the UK studying bachelor of science degree in video game design and development your tutorial is the only best simple tutorial
Dude, this tutorial was so helpful! You weren't to fast, you helped us keep up, and you explained everything in full detail. I can't explain how grateful I am for this Video!!
I really needed this walkthrough. Never remembered all the tools I could use to make it easier.
Watching you work is extraordinary. You are truly the Bob Ross of Maya. Cheerful. Like you are genuinely having fun with this. Makes it so encouraging to keep going.
such a simple beautiful way of teaching ! :)
Thank you for making this video; adding in the extra primitive to start the head is great!

thank you!!!! loved the shift right click short cut !! Amazing !!!
THIS IS HOW A TUTORIAL SHOULD BE!!!
the best thing is any video i go i do not understand a single thing because they talk fast 😍😍😍
Around 20:28 when she says "shift + right click and choose component" I found that you can also get there by holding "w + left click and choosing component".
Just saying that in case anyone had the same issue I had
Thank you so much. its 2019 thou, but, this is the best I have seen so far. thanks again.
Thank you so much I am beginner and love it, I have reached limitation in photoshop so i am here. Thank you again....

Thank you so much for this Maya character series, I've recently picked it up and your tutorials were quite clear/easy to follow! Learned a good handful of shortcuts/tricks to improve workflow as well.

Ur hired
Say it artv say it
19:50 I wouldn't recommend target welding, it gives you two 6-point stars, it's better to rotate the upper and lower edge loops, so they would be closer to the middle one in the back
how do i connect it pleaseeee
Great and easy to follow along! A warning for all you, unlike this person, you'll want to avoid triangles at all costs in your mesh.
Why is that? Triangles and rectangles are the good ones to go with when modelling.
learned more by watching this that character modeling classes thanks for this
Learning this without practice is hard as hell we have a class every Friday for 3 hrs and that's where you do the experiment in maya. I hope I have enough money in this upcoming December to fix my PC and get a video card like quadro
love your way of modeling accompanied with pleasant voice !! love you too
yikes dude

Hey thanks for the video it helped me out a-lot i'm new to modeling characters but Im taking this course for Maya and not to be smart or whatever but at 11:10/50:04 instead of doing all that going into settings deleting faces and making a copy, you could have just turned on symmetry for x, that just makes it a-lot easier for me but very helpful video.
great tuto
I learned so much through this tutorial! Thank you! :D
Such a life saver thank you so much!!
How do you move the front/side camera? It keeps centering on weird areas and going into the camera settings is getting annoying. I'm really getting a lot from this as a beginner. Finally a tutorial that gets right to the point and shows keyboard commands.
this is a full compact tutorial about modelling with a simple (but not too simple) object. i feel lilke, after this i can build everything (probably not, but it feels like this).
Was using multi-cut to make lines, this so way better
LITERALLY SO HELPFUL
