One thing I noticed rip completely disrespected kayces service saying he never worked a day which I do understand what he was saying by not working for the ranch or anything but kayce was a hero who served his country and in my mind that was always disrespectful to both characters
yeah especially Kayce being a SEAL, like thats actual work, pretty sure the dude deployed multiple times to Afghanistan and fought. Definitely did more work than Rip ever did.
To these people they don't see it as a good thing that he was in the military. He left them and wasn't there to help the ranch or the family out. So in some way they resent or belittle him due to that 😊
@@mrhaast5053 And Rip is fine with that. He'd be in prison if John hadn't found him. John also gave him a choice at one point to leave if he wanted to. After he killed another cowboy for disrespecting Beth, John gave him the choice to take the brand or go to the train station. John doesn't see Rip as his lap dog and now that he's married to Beth he sees him as a son.
I understand that it’s suppose to be a slugfest a man’s fight of just straight punches and who gets back up, but if it was a real fight of who wasn’t gonna get up again ever. Kaycee walks away and Beth’s a widow.
John asked him to do it so Kayce could learn how to run the ranch. At least Kayce was smart enough to understand that Rip was the best man to run the bunkhouse in the end.
11:29 I don't know if this is in other militaries. Navy does briefings at the end the briefer asks if there are any questions. It ensures that information was conveyed and everyone understands it. Kayce is falling back on his Navy leadership training here. It doesn't work out to well here.
saying i learned 50 years ago in the navy: "Never trust a sailor that don't drink, don't smoke, nor cuss.". Wiser advice, and truer words were never spoken.
@DJZ64X Yeah didn't see that happen in any of the 5 seasons. And if you think Kayce actually won that battle in the corral I have some free land south of Fiji I'd love to give you.
Well, for one, he's a fictional character, and thus should be analyzed like any other character. Secondly, calling out someone's flaws isn't "shit-talking" as much as it is an observation. Sure, Rip is loyal and has somewhat of a moral compass, but that blind loyalty led him to do some truly heinous shit in the name of Yellowstone and the Duttons. Kayce, while also having unclean hands, is more prone to following his moral code rather than orders, which explains many of his actions throughout the series (saving Tate, sparing Walker, saving the horses, selling the herd, etc.). Both of these characters have to deal with their flaws throughout the series, which causes them to grow by the end of it.
Maybe, but it all depends to whom, or what, he's loyal to. They are both good men, but if Kayce has the brains and heart to question certain orders, then he's better at doing the *real* right thing. A good example is Walker: Rip was ready to drop him off at the train station, no questions asked, but Kayce had enough compassion to give Walker at second chance, which turned out to be a good move overall.
Don't have much choice Rip killed 2 people as a teenager John gave him a place and a reason to live you see that in a flash back when he says he is going to be top hand John gave Rip a purpose in life they both wear the brand but for different reasons and feel different about it
they have history. Walker was someone he picked from prison to be hired as a worker and branded him. But he made it very clear that he will not partake in any illegal activity since that can throw him back in jail. This doesn't sit right with Rip because everyone's got to do their share to protect the ranch. Another factor is that Walker's got a mouth on him, and he doesn't shy away from taking jabs at both Lloyd or Rip
I’m sorry but hardly believable that a former Seal could so easily be beaten by a guy without a special training. Not a fan of army guys but clearly the script has some flaws
You can have all the training in the world, but nothing can prepare you for getting hit in the face. There is always someone bigger and meaner than you in this world no matter how prepared you are.
@@roby1875 @ I won’t argue too much on this. But I have to say because I noticed this, people are messing their lives and ugly accidents tend to happen when they don’t understand their place. In real life and not in the movies if a person earns their living by fighting, they should be far superior to a farmer in a fair fight. No matter how physically strong the farmer is, he spends his time tending to the farm, not training for battles, because that’s not his purpose in life. Btw generally, people choose their purpose based on their natural skills, so if a guy ends up being in the special forces it’s because he’s physically and mentally better equipped for fighting than normal people

That wasn't a fight, bruh. That was a toughness contest. One of these guys is way bigger. That's all. I'm sure Kayce would have beat him if they went to the ground.
The Seals aren't unarmed combat specialists. Sure, they learn the basics, but the plan has gone spectacularly wrong if you're in a fistfight situation as a Seal. They spend much more time training endurance, tactics and firearms. Some Seals practice MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, etc., as a hobby, but it's not a requirement of the job. This isn't to take anything away from the Seals. A good boxer or MMA fighter might beat a Seal unarmed, particularly if they're taller or heavier, but that Seal would destroy them in a firefight situation. Seals train for war, not for boxing rings.
"You want to fight someone, fight me. I'll fight you all damn day." Rip Wheeler
My 2 favorite characters on the show. They’re the best.

It sucked that Rip took the fall to give to Kayce...i would of rather have rip running the bunkhouse!!

Love Rip and Kayce, Two of the baddest and sexiest men in Montana
No shit!! Cowboy boots jeans fitting at all the right places with the swagger and cheeky confident grin!! Lord have mercy ;) lol
When Rip removes his hat and thoughtfully places it down, you know it's going to be a "Hold My Beer Moment"😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉

3 of the besten. Not just the 2 ❤
Rip making Kayce growing up is the best part of the process.
Rip was always slick side jealous of kayce cause he wanna be what kayce is uh Dutton an he next in line no dispute 💯
Awwww bonding 😜
What is the name of the movie or series?
Yellowstone 😊
That first episode of Yellowstone had absolutely beautiful cinematography 😮
"Go on do something for your father"
Frankly
John doesn't deserve any of his kids doing shit for him
"I ain't gonna take it easy on you either" proceeds to take it easy on him.
where we cant watch this new season, on netflix just 3 season only, im from indonesia.
You both are fired.
You see this!! This means DON’T FKN TOUCH, FRED!
Beth coming at Kaycee over the Brawl and situation with Rip was the only time she pissed me off.
Kayce is a trained soldier. Special Forces, as far as I recall, and has no chance against Rip? Either he is holding back or he really has no chance.
Sailor and I think it was some time since he's been out of the teams.
Rip is no joke. He fought his whole life and killed several man in combat, he is as capable as a soldier
