    #Yellowstone #ParamountNetwork
Yellowstone is a drama series that follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner). The Duttons control the largest contiguous ranch in the U.S. and must contend with constant attacks by land developers, clashes with an Indian reservation and conflict with America's first national park.

Guaranteed if John told rip to drop em and spread em, he would. I wish there would be more elements of this in the show at times, even if concealed, as it could further appeal to a more diverse audience that could save this show. These yahoo, cowboy Republican shows are on their way out. Just too much overt discrimination. This fictionalized way of life is over, and never coming back.

I love how he took steps to let Rip know how important he was. John thought he was dying and wasn't going to die without making that right with Rip. Having him call him by his name was much bigger than it would be in most situations and then the letter Beth showed Rip was the icing on the cake.

Rip and John have about the same relationship my father and I had.....he always counted on me, no matter what, and I never asked him, "Why" as I always figured he'd tell me if he wanted me to know. He was a hard man who played for keeps. I learned so much from him and I sure as hell miss him every day now that he's gone. He certainly made a better person out of me......He used to say, "When it's too tough for other guys, it's just about right for me". That's the way he lived and I've tried to adopt that attitude. I sure was lucky to have the parents I had in hindsight.

I grew up on a ranch with an emotionally distant father whose only voiced concern is for the cows, his ranch, and his land. My dad loved us, but he didn’t have the slightest idea how to show it. So yeah, this show holds a lot of memories for a 42 year old rancher who is probably only slightly more emotionally mature than Rip and John.
My dad is 72, hard time to walk. He was watching us herd cows into pens for sale next week. After we were done, we got a solid round of criticism before he took my son out hunting rabbits.
It’s kinda funny how much easier he is on my son than he was on me. Hunting with him? When I hit 8 and wanted to hunt rabbits/grouse/etc, he would just say “you know where the shotgun is, you better come back with something to show for every shell you use”. I like to poke at him about how he’s getting soft in his old age.
And yes, we’re branded, but we did it to ourselves, his only part in it was calling us idiots after we were finished. Myself and my best friend did it at 15 while we were bored in a snowstorm, hunting moose in one of our hunting/herding cabins. We got snowed in for three days. 15 year old boys with too much time on their hands become idiots.
When he gave me the ranch finally, three years ago, he didn’t even tell me. Just had a lawyer show up with papers. Three years later, we still haven’t spoken about it.

I grew up in Havre Montana and I’ve worked in Cody Wyoming. Rip is actually a image of 95 percent of the ranchers there. I’d bet any rancher in Texas, against ranchers in Montana and Wyoming, Texas would lose! They are Very Strong minded and learn hard work with basic Life understandings, before the age of 6. Ranchers deal with stupid animals and deal with VERY intelligent animals at the same time, learning to work with both and have a understanding how to treat and care for both isn’t a easy task. This is just a show, but there are people who live this show on the daily. Believe it or not, all ranchers do have to fight for their land, not just in Wyoming, but everywhere. Some truth and some very much fictional…
