Her songs, the music and the words, could never be forgotten, they have become a part of America. I'm so glad to see now, that the person behind the legacy is being acknowledged. Hail, Cindy Walker! (July 20, 1917 - March 23, 2006)
Cindy Walker is my favorite songwriter. Probably the biggest reason she is my favorite is because Jim Reeves is my favorite singer and Cindy wrote several songs for Jim, that he recorded, that I love. She was a fabulous, astonishing talent to whom God gave the gift of being able to write lyrics and melodies that touched my emotions. I have often been moved to tears by hearing Jim Reeves, and other artists, sing her songs. She, like Jim Reeves, is one of a kind and there will never be anyone like her. Ever. Thank God that she and Jim were contemporaries and we are able to listen to their talents.
You Don't Know Me.....one of the most beautiful songs ever!
Thank you Cindy
