Good job. My mom Ioved Eddie ArnoId and this song, so I was privy to it at a young age. Now I wiII Iearn it and play it for her; she just turned 95 and Im sure she wiII Love it. Gracias my friend.
I’d forgotten how great a song this is. Thanks for going through it with the different bridges and the modulation Manilow. Now I have to get my guitar out and rewatch it.
Thank you so much for teaching this song Dave. I have been trying to learn a guitar friendly version of this for a long time. One of my favorite songs ever !
Another good lesson of a great song. I lived in Texas when Mickey Gilley's version was a big hit there. It became such a big hit that I thought it was his song.
You Don't Know Me was written and composed by Cindy Walker. Eddy Arnold provided the title only. Of course he had a big hit with Ms Walker's amazing song. Thanks for pick up this tune.
This chord progression lesson helped open my eyes to define a chord sequence sound that I have always liked. Not sure if considered dom7 sub for min 2, secondary dom, etc... but the bridge section beginning with C#m where the Gm7 moves to F7 instead of Fm7 and then B7 is a great sound. This sound/chord sequence is also in your Mrs. Jones lesson where Bm7 moves to F#m7 and then to E7 rather than Em7 and then to G/A (A11 dom chord). Cool sound. Thx again.
Hey Dave , thanks this is such a fantastic song and a great lesson too ! I'll be tuning in tonight to The DL show ! I enjoy all the topics and am glad to see you helping people with diet etc. It feels great to be in good shape !
Thanks so much for this. The song got stuck in my head a while ago. I'm not much of a guitar player but this is going to give me a real challenge to learn some new things. Be well.
Jann Arden does a nice version of this song in "My Best Friend's Wedding". Thanks for this one, Dave. I would definitely put this song on my all-time list.
Nice. One chord I would question is the E7 on “say”. The melody note there is c# thus an E6 chord is more suitable. An E7 when you're singing c# but playing d (flat 7 of the E7 chord) is a bit clashy.

Thank you for the lesson. This is the best lesson on RUclips and I had to save it. Thanks again. God Bless

Thank again Dave. One of my favorites is "The Nearness of You."
Cindy Walker wrote it. He got credit by coming up with the title. So the story goes…
Aw good one. I can't remember what movie I just saw with this song used in it. Probably a few. I dig it.
Groundhog Day for sure.
Clambake also with Elvis singing it
@@DavesGuitarChannel the internet says it was in Second act. With Jennifer Lopez in 2018 also.

Actually -- I'm thinking Meryl Streep sang it in "Postcards From the Edge". Whew - I almost forgot that.
This guy gives the major credit in who wrote this song to Eddy Arnold. Cindy Walker said that Eddy gave her the title, that's it, she did the rest.

Yes you have it because you love it. That makes the difference. Thanks.

That was so good
Any tips on how to go about learning this would be appreciated. Right now picking up these chords seems like a task way over my head. Thanks.
Check out the Band live 1983 , Richard Manuel sings this song and it is an awsome version of this song.
Thanks!
