In this episode, Andrew Skinner and Kerry explore the great things we know about King Benjamin and how he set up his kingdom. They also look into all he did to prepare his people, and how he taught about our dependence on God and the effect this should have on us. They discuss Benjamin's teachings about Christ. In all of this they show how King Benjamin's teachings are a manual for how to be a true disciple of Christ.

Thank you both, loved the references you made to being child like, it gave me hope. Thank you for the acknowledgement you gave to King Benjamin’s exceptional leadership, and through his humility he is able to bring as Acting President Jeffery R. Holland’s in his April Conference talk Motions of a Hidden Fire. I guess both Elder Holland and King Benjamin know the urgency of their voice of both warmth and warning. At times when I see my many limitations and wasted opportunities I take strength in invitations to be as a child. Also in Acting Pres Holland’s talk he said As we repent……….Then, with Job and all the refined faithful, we will behold a world “too wonderful” to understand. I take hope in Jesus Christ being too wonderful to behold and the invitation to repent and come unto Him as a little child for of such has Christ laid down His life and taken it up again. Paraphrase of 3 Nephi 9:22.

I love your comparisons. We recorded this before President Holland's talk, and I am grateful you helped me see the similarities.

Thank you... How will I stop my thanks "unprofitable servant", traditions get in the way. It was well explained, I better understand vs I understand better (have grown in wisdom)- I now know more. The undebted servant has many angels and levels of comprehension.

I read those chapters last night and this podcast answered the questions that arose, even though I’ve read those verses many times before. Thank you.

“The Plates of Mormon, which consist of an abridgment by Mormon from the large plates of Nephi, with many commentaries. These plates also contained a continuation of the history by Mormon and additions by his son Moroni.”

If only the Mormon narrative and commentaries contained on the plates of the stolen manuscript were available to us for our edification, the scriptures would be that much more instructive.
