@@jamesmclean6651 The Pilgrimage is a great song, the first time I heard it I thought he was saying gilgamesh, so I thought it was about the hero in ancient Mesopotamian mythology. I then read the song list and could then hear the pronunciation of Pilgrimage, but I love the song and the entire album.

Definitely a great release! It his hard to believe but this album this far in their career is as good as any great prior album 👏 Thank you Saxon for all the years of top notch Heavy Metal.

Saxon and Priest are the true guardians of the heavy metal temple. No other band has kept delivering such great tunes. It looks like age did nothing to this guys, they really stood the test of time. Long live to these 2 bands.

This song sounds really really good. Fantastic riff paired with an equally tight/heavy syncupated double-bass beat that demonstrates Nigel has still got fresh and relevant chops inside of him. I love Biff's voice and vocal phrasing on this tune, as well as the interesting lyrics. Reminds me of Saxon from the mid '80s, yet with a more mature and seasoned writing style.

Exactly 45 years ago to the day on Friday 11th November 1977 I as a 16 year old was in the Centenary Rooms in Barnsley Civic Hall with my mate Chris Farrall to watch SOB. A small venue considering that we were watching the beginning of Saxon who have grown over the years and now have a world wide following. Chris had his ghetto blaster at the back of the room and Biff acknowledged that it was okay to record the evening's show. The tape (BASF Chrome) sadly went missing in the following months/years but the memories remain with us.
