Legendary British heavy metal quintet’s 21st studio album boasts a clinically ‘heavy’ echo of their glorious NWOBHM sound.
Saxon have never dealt in half-truths or incomplete missions.
With Sacrifice they filled your heads with heavy metal thunder, and now Saxon want nothing more than to crush them with their very own, hand-crafted, not-safe-for-children brand new album, Battering Ram. Not. A. Problem.
With Biff Byford singing as well as he ever has, Paul Quinn and Doug Scarratt making full use of the term ‘shredding’ with their guitars and the lock-steady rhythm of Nibbs Carter’s bass and Nigel Glockler’s drums, the future and the past crash together in an ear-scintillatingly engaging, raucous, melodic-yet-classically heavy ten songs collection which will instantly be hailed as a Saxon classic. The title track, with its delectable twin guitar assault heralding the album’s commencement, gives the listener an instant crack around the chops, whilst traditionalists will be delighted to hear such a perfect marriage of old, classic Saxon with the newer, fresher invective in such riff-fronted fare as “Destroyer” and “Stand Your Ground”, but there are still moments of space and exploration which fans will love.

Saxon seems to be like a fine wine, getting better with age....
The sheer power of biffs voice at this point in his career it unbelievable
I honestly think he's a bit like Geddy Lee. Time was kind by filling out his lower register even as it robbed him of the high notes. Still an absolute force live, after all these years.
THE KINGS OF METAL...SAXON FOR EVER!
George Siamos THE GODS ARE BACK!
Ilias Ragnor IMMORTAL ANG GREAT
UNBRIDLED, BRUTAL,SAXON! MY HEROES!!

They are close friends with my dads friend he tour for years
My first metal band!!!!! I was 12 years old when I was listening to "The Eagle has landed"!!! Love them!!!! Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹
My first with Saxon 1980 with Wheels of Steel . Great Heavy Metal Band to this day, Good Times from GER.
Saxon will go down in history as one of the most important and influential metal bands ever! 🤘🤘
Holy shit... after all this years. Still awesome Heavymetal!
I am both amazed and stunned with the consistency of this band writing awesome music and catchy heavy tunes all those years. Never too complicated, never over the top, never quite new but always refreshing, beautiful little songs. These guys are the epitome of metal. In your face, melodic and makes you bang.
+irmasil3 Couldn't have said it better. Very impressive song.
+irmasil3 Totally took the words out of my mouth. Well said irmasil3 and Yes - Saxon is amazing.
+irmasil3 you hit the nail on the head , bro....

Once again the mighty Saxon proving their solid legacy. Kickass song and I expect the album to be the same
That riff is bad ass
when Saxon opened for Motorhead at The Pageant in Saint Louis back in September, 2015, i was lucky enough to meet the bass player of Saxon & speak with him a little and also shake his hand, which is a great honor to me, considering that it was the first & last time that i would get to see Motorhead in concert.
Amazing After All These Years.SAXON'S STILL TAREING IT UP!!HOLY S**T....THANKS BIFF & THE BAND.You Inspire me to keep going & NEVER GIVE UP!REMEINDS ME I NEED TO PLAY SOME GUITAR....Now Where's My GUITAR & Some JACK 'N COKE(FOR LEMMY!-R.I.P.)

Better yet that Motorhead and Saxon are doing a gig together in Aarhus, DK, this month - and I'll be there :D
Saxon. This song is so brutal and straight in your face, Love it
Maiden and Saxon, the two giants of NWoBHM and Rock n Roll in general going head to head this year. Exciting time!
And Motorhead!!
TANK is also putting out an album
It's been a long time I played tank. Love their 'it fell from the sky'
TokyoTommyGun Motorhead...they certainly are one of the biggest rock and roll acts ever, but they are not a NWOBHM band.
christalmann Yep they aren't.
"Battering Ram"
Come worship at the metal church
Let your voices rise as one
Stand before the barricades
Prepare yourself for what's to come
These walls will resonate tonight
To the sound of screaming hordes
Decibels will rise above
To fill this concert hall
Are you ready to begin
Then let the hammer fall
Like a battering ram
These walls will turn to dust tonight
Long before the aftershock
Foundations crack the buildings shake
Reverberating pounding rock
Through the smoke you hear the sound
The sound of metal striking steel
Do you feel adrenaline
Racing through your heart
Take it up to overload
Let's tear this place apart
Like a battering ram
Let our voices fill the hall
Like we've never done before
Let me hear your battle call
Let me hear your battle call
Let me hear you one and all
Welcome to the house of steel
This is where we stand or fall
Capturing the atmosphere
Trapped inside these hallowed halls
We stand inside this metal church
Together now we are reborn
Decibels will rise above
Breaking down the walls
Crank it up to overload
Watch the hammer fall
Like a battering ram
Like a battering ram

somewhere there is a kid telling another kid "my grandpa is more metal than you"
My kid's favorite song. Raised him right.
Epic
Or grandma 😂🤘
Well these "Grandpa's" were a cog in the greater machine of Metals early beginnings.
I was aware the band existed but never heard their music until now. Fantastic. And you can hear the Sabbath influences in there.
:D lol
same here........i see why they're so favored by Priest & Maiden now
EarthIs NotFlat same here, gonna have to do some more digging on their discography
Too!
Same here! And I grew up in the seventies and missed a lot of years I could've had. Just saw them live in Detroit with Priest or I would still be missing out!
Ive first became a fan since unleash the beast back when i was a teen and became a huge fan until today.
Older better they become and no intention of slowing down.
Saxon isStill one of the greatest british metal pioneers.
Keep the fire burning Saxon.
I'm of the same age as these guys, I remember seeing them in their previous incarnation as Son Of A Bitch playing the Boilermakers Club in Sunderland. Absolutely first class!
Going to see them in Dublin tonight,I think they're in Bristol tomorrow, I'm 61 by the way.
An envyable privilege, yours... I've listen them for the very first time in '78... I was 14... in those days in secondary school... since then an unconditional fan... greetings from Buenos Aires... (far away in the map, but closer to metal heart always!)
Yeah, I am also born in the very early sixtys. We know what we talk. Swiss-greatings.
38 years after "Wheels of steels", they're still alive and well : big UUUP to Saxon!!!
@Peter Ordinary How is that possible?! Saxon is heavy metal alphabet! Together with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, AC/DC, Accept, W.A.S.P., Thin Lizzy, Helloween, Manowar, Queenseyche, Dio, Warlock, Diamond Head, U.F.O., Y&T....
I did a support to Saxon once with my band Talan ... loved every second of it! ... they are definitely the unsung heroes of rock/metal ... this is another awesome track by the masters!
Still kicking asses after so many years! Glory to SAXON
I love saxon forever 😍💓🤘
Monster of Rock...What a voice...……..This heavy metal...…….
wowwwwwwwwwww
THE KINGS OF METAL...SAXON FOR EVER!
What I wouldn't give (except for my soul) to have a voice like Biff Byford's and to still be rocking when I get his age!
Oh YEAH!!! The old lions of the NWOBHM have bared their fangs once more. Biff Byford is pushing 70 and his voice is still INCREDIBLE after 4+ decades. Amazing! GO BIFF!
Heavy metal grandpas kicking ass!
Saxon are just like good wine...and still great live performers !!!
Biff kept this Top band going better and better over the years. His vocals still strong over time.Amazing stuff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
I'm 44. & I like Saxon. I went to the show in Kent WA. Exclusively to see Saxon. They were every bit as good as Judas Priest. That show rocked. I spent 190$ on alcohol. LOL! I did have a ride home BTW.

kick ass metal - they still got it !!! long live metal!!!!!!
masterpiece!!!!!!!
Incredible, I would never think that so many albums would come out from all those great bands like Def Leppard, Saxon, Iron Maiden and Anthrax and that new band would appear fromed out of legends, Last In Line... 2015 and 2016 are seriously golden years for metal.
Philip Thumulla
So did Ronnie, Freddie and Roy Orbison and many, many others. Everybody will die when right time will come and the star life will die, but world goes on and it don't even watch for those who left. In our metal hearts Lemmy, Ronnie and many others will live forever, music they made, gave them some kind of immortality :)
We should remember them, and I know We will, but we also have to enjoy that our genre isn't dying, that even in our times, we can get such good albums and artists stick to their roots giving us all the best they can. So cheer up and have faith :)
Sincerely regards from Poland
Well said bro :) \\m//
I really love that metal community is so royal and supportive :D
As it should be :) When IM announced their new album I was happy as hell, when Anthrax announced their new album I was blown to pieces but when I saw Saxon and Def Leppard albums announces I was thinking "It must be a fuckin joke or I'am dreaming" but damn it was all truth and I wasn't dreaming :D and at the end Last In Line was fromed.. Seriously these last years, for our metal hearts, are gettin' better and better.. I pray for them to never end :) lml
We have to be royal cuz our bands are loyal to us and we must be supportive cuz They supports us for so long :)
Long Live to SAXON!!!!!!
They're like wine. The older the better.

Saxon.......showing us how it's done....................Brilliant!!!
Absolutely brilliant band. They have the most melodic guitarists. Always playing for the song, not for themselves.
