    I worked from home for a long time and now I have to go in one day a week. My cat does not take being left alone very well. He will meow loudly calling out for me. I don't know if the cameras are a good thing as it makes me feel worse when I see him sad and lonely. He's an older gentleman so I'm not too concerned about him getting into trouble but if there was something I could do to make him feel less lonely and anxious about being on his own that would be great.

      Try leaving something that smells like you where he loves to sleep. Also, get him some toys or special treats for when you leave. Only bring them out when you leave. We have our cats trained so well now they get excited when we are going to leave because they know it will be special treat time. It will take a little bit but once he understands you will come back the crying will stop I promise. It's like a mom dropping her kid off at daycare for the first time. They will cry but over time will get better. Sending you love as all kitties have the saddest meows ever! I know it is hard.

      Awwww. One of the best things to do is get your baby some toys to play with just when you are gone. That will give them something to look forward to. Also, get the cameras so you can check in on them. That will give you peace of mind.

    Hello, My house has 4 floors, and I don’t know if I shoul let my kitten free around the house, or in only one room because of the stairs. There are these stairs protection for babies and pets but my mom doesn’t want these in every stairs.

    • @ThatCatMommy
      @ThatCatMommy  7 месяцев назад

      Start small in one place and gradually open up other areas. Make sure they are comfortable and know where the litter box is before moving on to another area. Usually, they will let you know when they are ready. It is when they start trying to get out of wherever they are and want to start exploring other areas. Also with multiple floors, you need litter boxes on all of them if possible. ❤

      Why not take kitty with you? We have backpacks and strollers for ours so they can go with us outside. I have ADHD and my little ones bring me so much comfort. Definitely think about it but just know kittens are super playful and full of energy. But talking them with you on walks would help with that.

      I wouldn't recommend leaving a kitten for the weekend. 😥 You could either pay a pet sitter to stay with it or you could teach it to be a travel cat and take it with you. That is what we are doing with our little ones. That way we can just take them with us. Hope that helps. ❤

    Hey I have a huge issue, so I'm 15 and live with my VERY strict parents, we are travelling for one week and my dad said there was NO way we're gonna be taking my cat with us, and even worst, my mom jumped in and was like, '' I'm not leaving a cat in my house for an entire week, what if he gets poop on him and spreads it all over the house!! We're gonna lock him in the bathroom and put food in there ''
    And I was like "mom that's ridiculous", and she started yelling at me, I'm very upset that my cat has to stay for an entire week locked in a small bathroom, and I'm scared he will run out of food or water, and I personally struggle with depression and my worst nightmare it's my cat getting depressed, and I'm afraid he'll think that we abandoned him and he will probably get really depressed and feel trapped inside of the bathroom.
    Please I need advice on how to convince my parents to take him with us or at least let him free inside of the house.
    Or maybe just some tips

    • @ThatCatMommy
      @ThatCatMommy  Год назад +1

      Oh no I am so sorry. Hopefully, you can sit down and talk with your parents and work something out. Maybe ask if the cat could stay in your room or tell them you would be willing to clean up any mess the cat left behind if they allowed it to stay in the whole house. Also maybe you could have a relative or someone the family trust come over and check on the house and the cat while you were gone. They could change the litter box and make sure the cat has food and clean water. Sending you good vibes and well wishes for you and your kitty. ❤️

      I am sure the kitty will miss you but as long as you spend some time with him/her daily it should be ok for a little while. However little kittens need lots of attention and without you there to entertain them they may destroy stuff. I would definitely get a camera to watch him/her as that will for sure make you feel better.

    • @ThatCatMommy
      @ThatCatMommy  3 года назад +1

      That would depend on the size of the room, room set up, and the kitty. If your kitty is super active it would need to run and climb to burn that out or it could end up messing something up in your room. Defiantly get a camera so you can see how the kitty reacts and make adjustments where you need to.
