Man, other than a 26” trout many years ago from my boat, and that redfish on this video. I’ve caught mostly smalls there. Only have fished it maybe 4 times total ever though. I still need to work on the drag… slacking lately😅
@@cmidfield14 I can def see that! You ever catch Sheeps on those steel structures? Seems like perfect depth and tons of oysters and barnacles growing on them. I tried for a little bit but no bites
@@VISUAL-LY not yet, that’s on my list. It’s such a long haul back there in the kayak that I’ll probably wait until fall for more of them to move in. Never had much luck under wonderwood either, the few times I’ve tried.
Love your content! Keep up the good work, you got my support! I’m in the market for a kayak, your WS kayak looks pretty good but I really want a Hobie Outback, they are just so expensive. What are your thoughts on that? Do you know any good budget kayaks for inshore fishing?
Appreciate the support!🙏🤙👊 I too have considered switching to a Hobie. Maybe my next kayak. I’m in a Native Slayer now though, not WS. Def not considering the outback because of the price point. But several of my friends own the Hobie compass and absolutely love it. Stable, lightweight, fast, cheaper, easy to transport, etc. If not the Compass, then probably the Passport which is even less expensive. At the end of the day, imo no need to get too fancy and expensive with a kayak. It’s still just a big piece of plastic made to be thrown around lol. As long as you get a peddle drive (a must for fishing) and have a comfy seat, really doesn’t matter what brand. Hope that helps!
@@VISUAL-LY thanks for the info! the newer Hobie models come with the kickup fins, I can see how this can be useful while fishing shallow especially around oyster beds. Do you ever have any issues fishing super shallow with your Native Slayer?
@@TheRealRoman11 def an advantage hobies have. I just simply lift up the drive and paddle to deeper water. If we’re running into oysters, then we’re not fishing them correctly lol. I went with the slayer because of the instant reverse which I use continuously. With the Hobie, you have to pull a cord or something like that which seems like a pain imo. Especially while fighting a fish. So I’m still thinking about it myself. The speed and efficiency of a Hobie or stay will the native’s instant reverse🤔
@@VISUAL-LY I picked up a 2021 Hobie Outback. I can’t wait to try it! I used a obscure brand kayak with a plain old paddle before so I can only imagine what the difference will be.
Hell yeah! Congrats! Prob one of the best fishing kayaks out on the market now! Your whole kayak fishing experience is about to turn 180°! Go get them!!💪
@@gedroit Yeap, I’ve gone to both many times - good places to fish. Just trying different spots for the channel. Hoping I’ll find something new and good🙌
The fish whisperer strikes again! Definitely a bountiful day🤤
Thanks bro!! But no flounder and wish the fish were bigger😅😅
I grew up in oak harbor so it’s very cool to see you fish there, thank you for sharing it, I can’t wait to fish there again soon myself
Thanks for watching the video! Next time I’ll explore the south side of the channel🙌
Great place, I grew up in that neighborhood . Lots of good memories fishing at the boat basin.
Is the boat basin where the large metal structures are? Thanks for visiting the channel!🤙
This is really great and i liked the way you filmed Bodhi from the beginning and i like your new Video, bro.
Thanks bro!👊
Really like your videos. I always learn a lot.
Really appreciate the support!
It's been several years since I fished oak Harbor, looks like you did well. I do remember the bugs near the ramp being pretty bad.
This trip reminded me why I don’t fish the area often🥴 Its just an easy place to launch and lots of little creeks to explore
exactly what I remember - bugs at the ramp would eat you alive...
Nice fishing bro, you caught all the species :D
Thanks brother! All the little fish kept me busy lol
Nice! Have not fished there in several years. May have to give it a try.
Let me know how you do!🙌🙌
My favorite spot to fish, got some good holes there. You ever do anything to the Stradic drag?

That fish is pretty! Got me claustrophobic when you were in those tight spots 😩
Lol I tried to squeeze through there but was just a bit too narrow. Could’ve been big fish back there!!
I miss launching from that bridge.
I never have. Is it closed off?
It is, they’re doing construction there now. The fishing always seemed better there than taking the oak harbor route.

@@cmidfield14 I wanna take the kayak under wonderwood but in the main ICW channel. Maybe on one of the days where the tidal movement isn’t so high
That's my favorite place to fish is out there in Mayport 👌
Def lots of fish out there! I just found all the small ones😅
Great video. TY!
IDK how you (and Steve - Key West Kayak Fishing) can sit in a kayak and fish so long without getting leg cramps!
Thank you!! Lol i can be on the kayak all day. But I occasionally stand and fish, to stretch my legs. A comfy high seat also helps!
I enjoyed the video! 😊
Appreciate the support!!👊
What ruler are you using? I like the way it folds up.
Ordered it off Amazon. Yakgear fish ruler. Think it’s was around $30 when I bought it. Might of gone up since. But I love it!

Nice!! I just moved to Jacksonville!! Let’s fish together soon brother 🤙🏼
I’ve got my PA14 and would love some help getting familiarized to the area!!
Let’s make it happen!🙌
👍
Appreciate it brother!👊🙏🤙
I need to learn how to flounder fish!
Just slow down your lure/bait retrieve and look for ambush points. The best spots are feeder creek mouths🙌
Hi Bodhi! ❤
your nephew says hi!😂😂 with his grumpy self😅
Seems like there are mostly small fish 🤔
Pretty much. I won’t be going there too often😂
Yeah, I quit going there for that reason
