I live up in Fernandina/Yulee area. Used to get out like 3x a week at least but haven't really been able to get out as much since my daughter's been born. Watching this just gave me the motivation to get back out more frequently.
So, your friend Sammy didn't catch any? You make it look so easy. I've been to the same places used the same baits (I bought those grey gulp you always seem to use) unsuccessfull most of the time. Ive been trying to learn from yoir vids. Some times I bring home one keeper if I am lucky. If i ever see you out there, I will be tailing you! So look out for the Filipino dude with the old malibu Kayak with a trolling motor!

I've fished from that same launch spot. Had a decent trip, but absolutely throttled on the paddle back. Might be a different story now that I've got a pedal drive. The current runs really good through there which explains why the fishing activity is always so good. Great catches!
Oh yeah! The current can rip out there. Especially on certain moon phases. So much volume of water just bottlenecks through those narrow cuts. Def having a peddle will help but on some days I’ve even peddle as fast as I could and only moving an inch at a time. Crazy! Be safe out there!
Thanks bro! I haven’t really tried casting for flatties around the rocks. I’ve jigged vertically and caught a couple. But man, those rocks used to be loaded with sheepshead. Slowed off the past couple years for some reason
Great stuff, getting pumped for this season! I hope to get on some doormats soon I have been making a lot of sheepshead/drum videos need a change of pace.
Thanks brother! For casting (reds, trout, flounder) I use 12lb braid with 4-6ft of 12lb flouro leader - double uni knot. For Sheeps I go little heavier. 25lb braid with 20-25lb flouro leader - swivel connection. Hope that helps!
@@VISUAL-LY hey my brotha I have a question….I don’t have a pedal drive so I have to paddle…is the current too strong there for me to go hit some of those areas? I’m trying to buy a pedal drive yak….let me know if you know of anyone selling one.
@@pedrocordero7898 the tide doesn’t get bad back there in the Huguenot basin. It can get bad if you head out towards the inlet or back into ft George river, especially if the tide coefficient is high on that particular day. Look that up before trying it - it can rip pretty bad even with a pedal drive kayak. Otherwise, if you stay towards the south end, easily manageable with just paddling. Just try to have a way to anchor. Good luck!
