Not sure how many applicants Brown gets for that fellowship but pretty sure it's hundreds and they only pick 1 or 2 ppl a year. In ortho the only specialties that require additional training after residency is hand and spine. I chose to be a chef, WTF was I thinking?!?!?!

"Feelings Bro" is what I'm calling every counselor or therapist I ever have for the rest of my life. Almost makes me wish I was in therapy so I could do it right away.
Feelings bro seems real good at his job. He got ortho confidence back up in one session. We also see him knock down neurologist hard in one video and provides candid advice to family medicine in another. He shows empathy but doesn't hesitate to call out a patient on what they should do to improve themselves.
The psychiatrist having to keep up is TOO ACCURATE; I'm a therapist, mentally ill myself, and 100% will be like "They don't know what they're talking about, you're awesome!" and then they go "Yeah! {technical term technical term research term specialized niche interest rant}" and I'm like, *I don't know what I'm talking about*. But it's really cool and my trauma clients (aka all of them) so rarely have someone wholeheartedly on their side that I love them going off like that, so I go along for the ride and encourage them, and then frantically google things after they leave and then use the technical terms in our next session like a child showing off their first word. I'll ask questions sometimes, so they know I'm interested and love learning and they get to realize they can add knowledge and teach something despite being often shut down or told they're stupid or can't do anything, but if they're using tons of them I don't bog them down with questions and just enjoy the infodumping.
This guy is very intelligent and creative 👌. I like how he is able to show the interaction with all the characters and how they interact with each other commensurate with their created personalities. Nicely done.

I work with a psychiatrist and the urge to say "what's up feelings bro" when he calls is so goddamn strong.
Do it 😂
Danger squiggles! I'm dead. From a new onset of danger squiggles...
This whole series is such an insight into the practicalities of medicine. Do urologists!
The ability of ortho to have the highest step scores and most research pubs and then forget everything non bone related is truly impressive
What up Feelings Bro?
You are genius, your videos are so funny. I always come to this channel after a hectic day.
Bro. Therapy worked so well you just released the bones kraken 😱
Ortho reminds me of a puppy. Dogs knows lots about bones, too. And they are always confident they can help or do anything with a little encouragement.
Always funny to me how Orthro thinks their dumb but has one of the hardest specialties to match into.
I think it's because the specialty attracts a certain type of people, who perhaps are competitive by nature but not very nerdy (compared to other doctors)
NGL the two smartest people I know are BOTH hand surgeons or "hand dentists" as some docs on Twitter call them lol. One of them went to Swarthmore and was Valedictorian and the other went to Yale for his undergrad, Yale post grad, and also did his residency at Yale, which I hear is pretty rare to do all 12 years there and they both did their fellowship at Brown U. Not sure how many applicants Brown gets for that fellowship but pretty sure it's hundreds and they only pick 1 or 2 ppl a year. In ortho the only specialties that require additional training after residency is hand and spine. I chose to be a chef, WTF was I thinking?!?!?!
Match difficulty is based on the popularity of a specialty. Not it’s difficulty though.
I absolutely love your videos. They're putting a smile on my face in a time when I've been very ill with Covid. Thank you so much!
So, can we talk about the perfect, yet subtle, use in so many of these videos of the quick zoom-in for effect?
That small lump of regret you feel when you took their self confidence one step too far😂
I absolutely love the term "danger squiggles".
I'm glad you're on RUclips. You add something to our bettering in understanding the departments of medicine as well as the lifestyles
There's been nothing like this so I appreciate you as well as your medical survival to get here. God bless you.
I'm going to start calling my therapist that, she'll love it lol
I work for twelve Ortho surgeons. They are my rock stars, lol. You bring it home sir, thank you
I’ve never seen such nervous Orthos. They’re very very self assured. The Ortho at the end of the session is more like real Orthos.
and that's exactly why he needed therapy!
They are right up there in the smugness scale with the general surgeon just below neurosurgery
Maybe this is their origin story
True
As an Ortho Bro, I will declare: you are our favorite Eyeball Bro.
As a med student in her final year, whose dad is a nephrologist, mom is a gynecologist, sister is an ophthalmologist, dad's brother is a cardiologist, mom's brother is a cardiologist, mom's brother's wife is a pediatrician, I greatly appreciate all these videos.
Btw I'm interested in anesthesiology myself 🤭
wow, lot of doctors in your family lol. Good luck in your final year!
Sounds like your sister choose the smartest career. I solely base this on dr. G's advice 😂
So when you take a flight as a family do you all raise your hand when they ask if there's a doctor or? (Joke
So I'm guessing that your family owns a small hospital.
As a bipedal potato I don't even know what's going on.
"I'm probably smarter" I had the reaction. Lol
“Danger squiggles”….I can’t stop giggling…😂😂😂
"They still call it a compound fracture!!"
🤣🤣
How dare?!
LOVE it!! Was waiting for "whadup therapy bro" but your's was even better (of course!:) Thank you for all these gems!!
As a future orthopedic surgeon, I just want to hug my Ortho! His sadness broke my heart. Eventually, I adore how He recovered! Hahaha, I make the same face at the end (no, wait!) hahaha Great Video! I love it!
'Danger squiggle'. If Nathan Pyle's 'Strange Planet' started doing medical scenarios, I'm pretty sure that's what the EKG would be called.
Danger squiggles. I laughed myself damn near sick. Well played. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Thanks feelings bro..” hhahahah🤣😂
You are the best comedian I've ever seen ! You don't look like ophtalmologiste you're more like cardiologiste !
I love Ortho with all my heart and I wish for him to look at interesting bones only for the rest of his days
Jokes aside "You're smart in a different field" is a valid thought
My reaction to yoga too! 😹 BRILL as usual Doc!!
I always break down crying within 30 seconds of starting yoga. It looks really cool and I'd love to do it, but it's not worth the emotional turmoil.
Yoga is for muscles and tendons... It's to help the squishy stuff Ortho Bro doesn't want to deal with.
@@confusedwhale thanks for the explanation! That makes sense! 😹👏🏾
@@Listrynne LOL what why?? Yoga is so relaxing haha
@@monkiram I finally figured out why when I read "The Body Keeps the Score". I've experienced various traumas since I was a child, and the emotions connected to them are locked in my muscles. Doing yoga releases those emotions too quickly for me to process them correctly. Maybe I'll be able to do yoga someday, but that day won't come for years.
LMFAO that is the EXACT look the ortho fellows give every time you show them the ECG
Love these videos! You made my day, and you made me laugh, when I did not think I could. 😄
“Danger squiggles” so accurate! But I love when they stand next to anesthesia or hospitalist while they interpret and nod in agreement like they’re just getting a second opinion.
This doc should participate in a movie, AS A DOCTOR.
Hilarious. Great insights into how specialists sometimes appear view their colleagues. Go bro.
This guy is very intelligent and creative 👌.
I like how he is able to show the interaction with all the characters and how they interact with each other commensurate with their created personalities.
Nicely done.
The “feelings bro” and “danger squiggles” terms made me laugh louder than they should’ve
Spot on. I had 10 ortho surgeries as a child and... Yeah. These are the guys who see screws and brackets and have "ideas" about what they could do with them.
This is definitely an episode foreshadowing a disaster to happen😂
This is precious!!!! ☺️ God bless you for making these!
You can hear the Windows dial up sound in Ortho's head when the psychiatrist brings up EKGs.
As the child of an orthopedic surgeon and a psychologist, I knew this would be good as soon as I saw the title!
😂😂😂
That ending realizing what therapy has done.
The only person who took one look at my brother, who came in for TKR consult with his orthopod, and said "let's wait on your knee and get you an MRI of your pituitary" was an orthopod! Thanks bone doctor🤗
