    Hello from Georgia Hank, I fish a lot of Lakes that are full of standing wood and brush with grassy bottoms, And I been looking for a finesse jig that I could use in these areas, Thanks for the info on the Omega jigs I think this is what I will need to be able to catch the spotted bass and largemouth I'm fishing for !!!!

    The war eagle heavy finesse jig is "ONE FISH CATCHING LIL' SON-OF-A-GUN!". Sometime, you need to try the strike king rage chunk (especially for smallmouth) they dont mind the added action in the wintertime. I've used it for years with great success on Cumberland and Dale Hollow.

    The war eagle ball head jig is awesome. Especially since they come in a 2 pack at the same price or less than other jigs. I like them better than the ball n out jig. Better skirts with near identical design and you get 2 for price of on buckeye jig.

    • @BassGeek
      @BassGeek  Год назад

      I do it based on the time of year and the profile I want the bait to give. During the winter crawdads that are dying tend to keep appendages tight to the body and lay on the bottom. Not in the defensive potion. As it warms that changes. Or are we all just overthinking it and it doesn’t really matter? 😂

    There just ain't nothing like the fluid action of a good PORK CHUNK in winter. Altough, these days, you gotta buy 3 bottles just to get one GOOD pork frog! Also, on any beaver style bait, I like to leave the tentacles together, especially in winter. My reasons for this are twofold. 1st, it gives less action, closer mimicking crawfish in cold water. More importantly, when left intact, it closer resembles a FLEEING craw's FOLDED UP claws, rather than it's fighting stance. I discovered this while cleaning a fish in Florida. This fish had eaten a shiner, a frog, and a crawfish. I put these aside as I cleaned 3 small bass (per the pond owner's request). As I looked at that (still intact) craw, I realized that he was folded up, as if fleeing. I started leaving my (hematoma, always!) beaver's tentacles together and, man, has that made all the difference! It works, especially in cold water. 👍🏼

    • @BassGeek
      @BassGeek  Год назад

      Yeah I agree just depends on water this rodents when you take the extra appendage off even when ya separate the claws they come together when moved and over lap

    I’ve been trying a jig more the last few times I’ve gone fishing. I’m still waiting on the first catch.
