Hello from Georgia Hank, I fish a lot of Lakes that are full of standing wood and brush with grassy bottoms, And I been looking for a finesse jig that I could use in these areas, Thanks for the info on the Omega jigs I think this is what I will need to be able to catch the spotted bass and largemouth I'm fishing for !!!!
This was awesome man showing us the shore and channel swing. I love to feel that jig crawling over those rocks and then BAM! Think I will go hook the boat up. Your show makes me want to get out there!!!
I love this video type Hank. Your commentary on what banks to look for and which jig to use is great advice. I love to throw micro jigs in the winter for smallmouth. I know this video will help me with my winter jig fishing. Great video!! Thank you!!
Hey Hank, I’ve always ran my chunk trailers up the hook. Never thought about hangin them for a bigger profile. Appreciate the tip! I’ll give it a shot after we thaw out. Temps dropping to single digits & freezing up in Illinois. #100percentwatchsquad👊
The war eagle heavy finesse jig is "ONE FISH CATCHING LIL' SON-OF-A-GUN!". Sometime, you need to try the strike king rage chunk (especially for smallmouth) they dont mind the added action in the wintertime. I've used it for years with great success on Cumberland and Dale Hollow.
I’d never heard of the Omega Salvation jig till this video. Picked up some. It’s the real deal. This thing is amazing. I put in the comments of my purchase that I heard about it from the man BassGeek. Thanks Hank.
The war eagle ball head jig is awesome. Especially since they come in a 2 pack at the same price or less than other jigs. I like them better than the ball n out jig. Better skirts with near identical design and you get 2 for price of on buckeye jig.
I’ve been using the Omega jigs and loving them and how they stand up, plus they have great colors and quality ✊ Happy Holidays Hank to you and your family 🙏
Really enjoy your teaching videos. On the water showing how it's done. I've also used wobble heads with plastic crawdad imitations and had pretty good sucess.
going to have to pick up some Omega jigs, I like how the hook stands up, the jigs I have been using do not looks like they would give a much better hook up ratio, once again you hit it out of the park always learn something new.
Here in Missouri when the water temperature is below 40 degrees I use a finesse jig with a zoom fat albert twin tail grub I drag it slowly on the bottom similar to the way you fish a Carolina rig
@@BassGeek No sir it's me who's grateful I hope everyone drowns you in thanks and one day you make it to Cali or AZ so you could maybe knock some of that knowledge into this dinosaur brain and as always YOU ROCK 🤘🎣💙
I love watching the videos! Unfortunately I’m watching for tips on winter fishing for bass and your winter fishing looks like my fall fishing. I have snow and even some ice on the water. Can you make a video for water temps under 40° please???
This is a video I will be watching again and again. Great info and tips man. I love jig fishing, favorite by far. 1/4 to 3/8 from the bank depending on lake/pond depth. Add a trailer and let's go! And yes, point proven. Nice catch on camera Hank. You rock big guy! 🤘🥶🎣🎄 #100percentwatchsquad
#100percentwatchsquad Love that you have riprap that eats jigs and small plastics I’m going to have to save these tips for ice out. The bass are playing hide and seek right now
I'm a cheapskate when it comes to jigs. I'm mainly using strike king bitsy bugs/flips for finesse, dobyns football jigs as the next step up in size and trashmasters for a bigger jig
Great video Hank as usual, bonus caught a fish while doing a demo! Got my shirt love it can wait to sport it around here in southern Indiana. Merry Christmas sir. #100percentwatchsquad
Hey Hank, I noticed on the Zoom Super Chunk you rig the fat side up where as some pro's rig it fat side down. Randy Blaukat from Intuitive Angling did a whole video about the Zoom Super Chunk and how he rigs it fat side down. What are your thoughts?
I do it based on the time of year and the profile I want the bait to give. During the winter crawdads that are dying tend to keep appendages tight to the body and lay on the bottom. Not in the defensive potion. As it warms that changes. Or are we all just overthinking it and it doesn’t really matter? 😂
Great video hank. I’ve not tried fluorocarbon in a while but I found it was brittle and stiff very hard to throw on my spinning maybe k9 is better keep up the good work #100%watchsquad!!!
There just ain't nothing like the fluid action of a good PORK CHUNK in winter. Altough, these days, you gotta buy 3 bottles just to get one GOOD pork frog! Also, on any beaver style bait, I like to leave the tentacles together, especially in winter. My reasons for this are twofold. 1st, it gives less action, closer mimicking crawfish in cold water. More importantly, when left intact, it closer resembles a FLEEING craw's FOLDED UP claws, rather than it's fighting stance. I discovered this while cleaning a fish in Florida. This fish had eaten a shiner, a frog, and a crawfish. I put these aside as I cleaned 3 small bass (per the pond owner's request). As I looked at that (still intact) craw, I realized that he was folded up, as if fleeing. I started leaving my (hematoma, always!) beaver's tentacles together and, man, has that made all the difference! It works, especially in cold water. 👍🏼
Yeah I agree just depends on water this rodents when you take the extra appendage off even when ya separate the claws they come together when moved and over lap
whats the deal with that jig the finese one that had the plastic standing up... ive never seen a jig set the bait in that position. ive used swim jigs, jigs w rattles, hybrid jigs (flat bottom jigs) i want to know more about that jig that stands the bait up
The jig is a great tool to fish with unlock you said it does get big bites. I have one question where is the new boat hope all is good with it How do you trim up your jigs do you trim the finished jigs as well? #100%watchclub
Oh Yeah everything is going great. I should have it sometime around Feb. That is a great short. I do at times and I don't at others. Right now I don't trim them. Summer I do. If I'm around Large mouth I won't even trim my weed guard unless it's really long. I fan it instead to keep it from rolling to the hook. Smallmouth sometimes you have to trim the weed guard.
Not a whole lot better than a bulky jig with a chunk trailer. I like the zoom super chunk on a strike king premier pro jig. It has a big rattle and even dragging it makes alot of commotion.
@@BassGeek the rattle on the Denny brauer pro jig from strike king is a favorite of mine. It’s a big chamber so it rattles loud and pretty easily too. Cheap jigs for the quality too
Thanks for the tips. They are helpful as always. You need to come to norris lake TN and show me some one on one tips here on my home pond it would be great. #100percentwatchsquad

I like a twin tail myself. We don't see temps below 40 much here. I like a good football jig out deep for that also.
I'm new this year to Bass winter fishing. Love this video and the golden tips. Thanks.
Thank you I have a ton of winter fishing videos

@@BassDudeFishn I’m with ya though I do it all the time
What's a good time of year is the hellraizer
My honest opinion is that thing looks like a gimmick. However It would be post spawn and summer. The same time a buzzbait would be great.
