Not one of the Mussorgsky pieces you played is entirely by him though. The exhibition is orchestrated by Ravel and the bald mountain heavily edited (arguably to its detriment) by Rimsky-Korsakov
I think Bach's works on lute are not very well known. But as he composed no trumpet concerto - and this piece was clearly not the 2nd Brandenburg Concerto - I got Bach good.
First one of #6 sounds very similar to the tune that was famously used by Nokia with a slight adjustment. That threw me completely since i know that it wasn't Bach. Only 5/10 this time
1/10. How do the people who are getting 7-10/10 do it? I've only been listening to classical for about a year and a half now, and I mostly enjoy late romanticism/modernist. How long until I'm actually cultured??
It seems to me that there is little point in worrying about the high or low results of other people. It is important that you find it interesting, even if the grades are low at first))
7/10. Not very good on J Strauss II and Wagner fooled me. Can't believe I got Bruckner wrong - I consoled myself by revelling in the glorious symphonic ending (which I did know).
Most viewers have problems with Strauss II in every quiz)) And yes .. I specially put the ending of the 4th symphony at number 3 so that We could listen to it longer))
@@ukdavepianoman I could be wrong, but I think I took this ending from this video ruclips.net/video/U8U3ho-nlFk/видео.html Vienna Philharmonic, Herbert Blomstedt.
Of course, I deliberately made Ravel an imposter to Mussorgsky to try to confuse the audience a little. Glad you appreciated it! But still, the composer No. 7 was Mussorgsky, not Ravel))
7/10. I liked what you did with the Strauss one, pitting father against son.
7/10. Should have had one more, but still pretty good, I'd say.
7/10: I got fooled a few times but I didn't fall in the Strauss trap.
Thanks for another fun quiz. I got 7/10
This was difficult for me, only guessed Bach and Strauss. But very interesting again!
Not one of the Mussorgsky pieces you played is entirely by him though. The exhibition is orchestrated by Ravel and the bald mountain heavily edited (arguably to its detriment) by Rimsky-Korsakov
5/10 for me. Fairly happy with that as I didn't recognise many of the works in this quiz.
9/10 Only missed Strauss II
Ravel did arrangements for Mussorgsky. That was clever, Dimitri.
Thank you. There was nothing special about mixing Ravel and Mussorgsky. It wasn't hard to come up with))
8/10. I always fail in blind tests when there's some Bruckner!
Without difficulties, passing quizzes would not be so interesting. Well, I don’t add Brückner very often))
6/10 for the 3rd time in a row medium level. I'm not ready for the expert level to say the least !
Thanks for the result. I’ll try to do a few simple tasks at a difficult level so that everyone will be interested. Let's see how it turns out))
10/10. This time is easy.
Congratulations, I hope the next part will give you at least minimal difficulties))
I got a 9, thanks to the Strauss I and II paradox.
As it turned out in this quiz, Strauss I, II and R confused the listeners the most))
9.5/10. I refuse to take off a full point for not getting Johann Strauss I vs. II. 🤣
I also thought about putting Richard Strauss as an imposter, but it would have been very easy to guess him))
I was wondering when they were going to do this.
Amazingly, that was the first one I got right😂
9/10! I got the Bach wrong. I'm amazed at myself!
The same. I too confused first Bach with Dowland
Congratulations. An excellent result, but I thought that listeners would say that this is too difficult for the Medium))
@@adiosmusictest Wrong: the Mussorgsky question was child-play for me. Only Ravel, Holst, Puccini and Tchaikovsky would use choirs without words.
@@guidosarpero6263I thought the first Bach one was the track Nokia used at first.

This was harder than I thought in some places but worth hearing every second! Thank you.
Blessings and peace sir
Thank you for your feedback too.
9/10 Chopin tripped me, some others were lucky guesses but most I actually knew. I even knew beforehand which pieces by Mussorgsky would be there.
to be fair Field really sounded like... chopin
but the other 2 being the concertos 1 and 2, it became easy
Chopin was heavily inspired by Field (John Field composed the original Nocturnes) so that's fair

Only 5/10 this time
Thanks for your feedback. You meant the Gran Vals of Tárrega, but it wasn’t him))

9/10 but only recognised one of the ‘wrong’ pieces, the Heldenleben!
Indeed, here R. Strauss is more like Wagner than Rienzi)) Otherwise, you did a good job.

Technically, the odd one out is Night on Bald Mountain too because you chose the Ravel orchestration of Pictures!
Of course, I deliberately made Ravel an imposter to Mussorgsky to try to confuse the audience a little. Glad you appreciated it! But still, the composer No. 7 was Mussorgsky, not Ravel))
Should #7 have been "Ravel" instead of "Mussorgsky"? Two were by Ravel?
Wasn't it also the RK orchestration of Bald mountain?
@@listerofsmeg884 The common version of Night on Bald Mountain is Rimsky-Korsakov’s.
10/10!
Amazing. And in general, the results of the audience pleasantly surprise me))
Just 4/10 this time.
