Excellent! On one window the auto up and down didn’t work like the rest. I almost bought a new control module and was looking for videos on how to replace it, until this video came up. Then I went to the car and held up for 2 seconds on the faulty window until it clicked and it now works flawlessly. Literally a 2-second fix. Thank you! You just saved me a bunch of time and money.
THANK YOU!!! It worked like a charm! This has been bugging me for a few months. I keep telling myself to check my manual or look this up as soon as I get home, but I forget when I walk in the door. This was really too easy! Thank you!!
After a low battery issue, my left window won't lift into the rubbers after closing the door (volvo c70 2011). This solution recovers the setting of the window. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about this trick.😊😊😊
What a great tip and so simple to fix. Just stuck my sandals on to nip out and try that .. yeah. Love delving through your p3 archives. you've already help me with so many things... cheers my friend ;)
Thank you. Just had my 2017 xc60 at the dealership for a service job and the windows were messed up after. Thanks for this video--easy fix (if you know what to do)!
I'll go and try this in a moment. This is the first RUclips Video that actually shows the right age and model for my V70. It's also the problem I'm having! Thank you!
Stop a lot of friction on the window going up and down by spraying some lubricant with silicone in the window tracks. They will slide must easier. Also to save underneath the car spray the same on all rubber bushings and axle boots. Spray strut rubber gaskets. Keeps from drying out and splitting open. Always keep hinges and locks lubricants. Spray rubber door gaskets to stop sticking in cold snowy weather. Always keep sunroof tracks clean and lubricated. Works great. Now get under that car and have some fun. Full spray ahead.😁
So heres an interesting one. 2010 Volvo S80 V8, drivers side window buttons only work when the door is open. When the door closes they do not work. Haven’t dove into troubleshooting yet, only internet searches so far. I’ll check wire harness between door and car to see if its a faulty wire I guess but maybe try disconnecting battery first and steps in this video. UPDATE: looked at it closer and its just an issue with the door wire harness. Hopefully I can easily fix. Wear and tear from opening and closing door thousands of times. UPDATE 2: removed the door and repaired the broken wire.
thank you for the advice, worked a treat, my rear passenger window doesn't open from the drivers controls or from the rear passenger door control, do you know why this may be?
I have the same problem and also the lights on the windows buttons also goes off when the window not working. I will try this though. Thank you for sharing this video.
@@drivelife.channel if my window won’t work sometimes should I try this hack? It’s a p3 with little to no ware on any seat but driver so I think the membrane that the switch is activating could be worn out after 11yrs.
hi mate thank you so much for this video. I have the same interior model. but really struggling to find help to take the panels off? any help much appreciated. thanks fraser
hey thanks for the heads up. got the door panel off, but the aluminium panel behind it is now the problem, think my window mechanism has a bent arm , maybe? took all 8mm bolts out and window motor, but it didnt come away? seems rivets to the arm itself are holding it on? maybe I need to release something else? have pics but not sure how to post here. any help very very much appreciated.
Sadly this didn't work for me. The window slows down half way up, then drops back down. By holding the window button, you can get it past this point and then it speeds up again. Any ideas of the problem or resolution? Many thanks.
Did you ever sort this Jim? Mine does this too. I believe the window is raising at a slight angle, this is causing it to bind which triggers the anti-pinch safety feature and it goes back down. I can test this by encouraging the window straight with my hand - it then raises nicely. I can’t find a solution anywhere, so I’m getting ready to take the door apart and have a look.
I'm afraid this was too easy for me...😔 my driver window goes up to about 1/3 and comes back down in auto... it goes up all the way in manual but there's a bit of drag at that point so it might be the track I guess... oh well... good video anyway!

Dame here. Tried the fix, but it never clicks. :/

Try clearing out the tracks that the window follows :)
Didn't work. Window goes 3/4 of the way up then goes back down. If I then hold the button up it closes all the way.
I tried this, and now my window won't go down at all 🙈
Didn't work on my passenger window
My window will ot work at all
I wish this worked for me😕
We just changed the glass and now the window won't go down.
It doesn't work
Fucking beautiful easy fix💯💯💯
Thank you! 👍
