Hey Man, I really like all the info. You provide on this channel about Volvo’s, I’ve learned stuff about my car I never knew, and I love my Volvo s80! 👍🏻🔥
@@drivelife.channel devastating news - my 2006 C70 doesn’t have that “ hidden “ lock above the number plate for the boot . I can’t open my boot at all . Any tips ?
Nice tips!! I have keyless entry so when i want the car on and locked, i simply take down the window, close the door, push the lock button on the inside of the door and finally take up the window😁
Yes I did thank-you! it seems that at some point some cars have had a software update which changes the settings, not sure if mine has it or yours does 🤣
To lock the doors while the engine is running I would wind down the window before exiting the car, then once I'm out of the car and door closed, I would press the inside lock button through the window, then pull the driver's window switch all the way up for the window to automatically wind up completely. To get into the car later, I would just grab the handle (newer volvo with keyless entry) or use the key (for older volvo without keyless entry).
well…..I was so hoping i could starr my car this morning with just the key and that seems to not be possible. This is not good. but I now know how to allow transmission to ho to neutral for the tow at least. Thanks!!
Any idea how to unlock the boot with the key? I think the boot wiring loom has got a split in it so the key fob / boot release buttons won’t work and I can’t now open my boot.
Yes, take the key blade out and look under the chrome trump where the handle is. Along there will be a rubber cap that you can remove and use the key to open the boot :)
I bought mine off Lazada and did have to pay a workshop to do it during my service. Was way too much effort for DIY as I was worried of snapping the vent even further without the right tools.
So many clever little features on these cars. I took my V70 on its first run down to Cornwall, thank god I bought an estate. It was filled to capacity.
@@drivelife.channel Of course, checked the tyre pressures & fluids, topped of the tank (ouch) as each bar is basically £20 at current prices. Effortless cruise & no aches or pains when we arrived. Very impressed with it.
My car keys pop out just like yours does but it doesn't have a keyhole to unlock it in case the battery dies. Is it hidden somewhere? Because the only place that it plugs into is the glovebox.
No. But the fob doesn't require a battery for that to work. If the car has power, it will start. The battery is only for the remote functions. It will tell you the fob has low battery if you do.
Great info. My car battery died. After jump starting the car, the key fob stopped locking/unlocking the doors. What could be the issue? I have a 2011 Volvo V60
Forgot to mention same key do the rear door child safety locks, and airbag on of, overall nice video😉
Of course!
Nice one didn’t know about the transmission one and boot access. Cheers

Glad to help!
Hey , new sub here from Quebec ! 😊
Wow! Thanks. Mate, so many hidden features
Hi thanks for this you could be a lifesaver ! Is a 2006 C70 likely to have that hidden lock to access the boot with the key blade too ?
Absolutely:)
Thanks buddy much appreciated . I’ll get on to it tomorrow . I think the solanoid must be gone for the bit that key fob operates 💁♂️

Didn't know about the boot one. Did you get my reply on main beam feature ?

Thanks. I've been wanting a way to leave my car running, and locked, in the summer when I pop into a store real quick

@@drivelife.channel cheers. I didn’t think it would work as the looms knackered but it did! I’ll have to track down a new look. Cheers
What year is your s-80? And what package? Is it fully loaded? Because you may be missing a really cool one
Do you happen to know how to change the aircon vent tabs? Got a replacement off Lazada but workshop wants to charge a leg for the facor

How did it perform? faultless I imagine ;)

Please does the Volvo S80 2008 version connect to the Bluetooth of a phone
Also, can be used to unlock the seatbelts if they got stuck.
Thank you!!!
So if I disengage the transmission and someone tries to steal the car. Would they be able to override this through the ECU?
I have the xc60, and was wanting to know if you can start the car with the key.
No. You need you need the key fob. Dont lose it. Almost $500.00 at the dealership. Another screw job courtesy of Volvo

It will have a cover that is removable on the back of the door handle :)
1:10 This lock could be picked. Btw

My V60 will continue to run if I remove the key fob from the slot.
Same here (xc70 my16)
The only annoying thing with locking the glove compartment is it disables my rear wagon door on my xc70
@@drew4561this is a useful feature for the sedans but doesn’t make any sense on the wagons lmao

Anything?
Are you seriously telling people that keys can lock and unlock doors???
Ok awesome, I can use that‼️👏🇺🇸🤣
When you lock the glove box it also locks the trunk too
The locking the car while warming is true, but these cars auto lock when proximity sensor sees key is around 30ft or less from car.
lol at first i thougt iti is "Jean-Pierre van Rossem" whos talking ;:)
If thieves want to get in you're locked glove box they just rip the glove box door off causing more damage to your dash.
When you lock gloves box, trunk also locks, and car shows it in dash
If you turn it all the way, like he did, and if it's installed (installed it on mine last year) 🙂
It should lock normally with a quarter-ish turn.
Come in handy with dead battery so you can get in
Unfortunately my car don't have any key slots for physical keys 🙄.
About the boot you can access it by pulling the back seats down from inside the car so valuables are safe 😂😂😂
Pet hate is the wrong colour caps on number plates don’t look good and I have had this on my Bentley not good look
That car is filthy.
If you say "you guys" once more, I will growl.
