I'd say the real winner here is the Ford Figo 1.5D . Especially the 2020-2021 models with all the bells and whistles. That Engine and chassis. Handling. Cost of Ownership equal or even Less than a petrol counterpart and rival. More fuel Economy. So much Torque. What more do you want ?

I own both polo and figo, and figo has better handling, better steering feel, feedback, accuracy, better chassis, and tdci engine is a gem. Its faster than more powerful polo gt TDI. Polo is overrated in India, and figo is underrated.

Yes i agree that i have more variety of mods available for my polo because it sells in like almost every country but theres a thing called money 💰🤑 which polo isnt worth it. See the nex gen polo it comes with 1.5 petrol from troc making 150hps stocks. It will come to India soon until then these old polos just aren't worth it. Spending so much to make 170hps and still for the same price u will get 190hp polo(with stage 1 simple cheap tune) and i think it will cost 15 lakhs max in india.

I own a Tata Altroz diesel and recently booked the new safari too and I have done almost 50000 kms on my altroz... nor does my car have any rattles nor does it have any loose body parts.. Its much more refined than I first brought this beauty. So the car your driving must been abused badly.... Don't blindly give comments on Tata....
Can I ask you about the ground clearance of the altroz? Its 165mm GC looks low compared to the competition. I'm asking this BCOS I own a first gen figo which was known for its GC issues with its 168mm GC. I have this GC anxiety with my figo as I have faced issues with it. Im thinking of buying altroz. But GC is little concerning.
Really space let's polo down 🙄 it is very cramped even my old santro has 5% more legroom . I am 6 feet & when my friend 5.10 sits there is zero legroom for me . Polo is litrally 2 seater for adults. Only kids r comfortable at back .
I have driven nios from dibrugarh(Assam) to muzaffarpur (Bihar) 1350 kms. in 24 hrs. But I found no problem in driving. The comfort level was supperb at this price level.I did not feel tired in driving and got mileage of almost 20kmpl

The problem with these comparisons is that you should compare like for likes, for example cars around the same price or varients with similar features then we can understand which proposition is the better, but taking the highest varient of each and comparing doesn't do justice -my opinion

Honestly a turbo engined car will be more expensive upfront, less fuel efficient, and will be overall costly in the long run. Most cars run below 60kmph all day long. And for that a turbo powered car is unnecessary! Especially when we factor in the extra stuff that needs to be done to keep the turbo powered car in its top shape!
But our government taxes cars with greater displacement more, so the manufacturers have to give a turbo engine if they want to increase the power. Had our taxation not been so stupid, they could've just increased the displacement.

I own a Baleno and a Nexon. I just have to do the basic periodic maintenance on the Baleno. Nothing fails. Everything works as it is supposed to! Now coming to the Nexon! I have had issues with engine oil leaking, coolant leaking, windshield cleaner tank leaking, fuel leaking, the knob to change the driving modes failing, doors not shutting properly, engine warning lights coming off every now and then, AC failing and more in a 2 year old car. I will never buy a Tata again. It's better to drive a car that doesn't strand you on a strange land than to drive a car that has got 5* safety rating and get stranded because of poor quality products. The built quality of Suzuki cars are excellent. Safety and build quality are two different things.

I drove Manza for 1.27 Lakhs kms and have taken it to service center at least 120+ times. My cousin's tiago is rock stable on higher speed and easy to drive but failed twice on ghat roads. So the point is proven engine plus better service network makes Maruti a great choice. No doubt Ford and Fiat in Diesel compartment are superior ones. Polo TSI has unmatched engine dynamics. Hyundai is an all rounder package similar to Maruti.

The polo TDI was an absolute beast. No car in its segment was even close to that 250Nm engine. But now, the TSI seems vaguely overpriced. And it is impractical with less space in the cabin and boot. And don't forget the maintenance, which will surely lighten your wallet!

I drove the figo tdci once, it has very good pull but its clutch, gearshifts are hard, considering i already driven altroz. So overall, the betterment is of altroz diesel with better sturdy and solid build, designs, features, vfm, features, safety, etc.

@@pranavp386 true, and i drove the current gen swift for 400kms before buying my figo diesel 2019. And i also own Volkswagen Polo 1.2 tsi 2018. New gen swift is just isnt worth it. Old was amazing
The clusters inside the cabin of Polo is so simple and prominent that it really visualize so neat and it specially it is not clatter apart.

17:07 I own both polo 2018 1.2 tsi and Figo 1.5 diesel but Figo has better handling no doubt, the polo's steering feels awkward. Also chassis of figo feels better, but yeah polo has better build quality

The polo TDI was an absolute beast. No car in its segment was even close to that 250Nm engine.
But now, the TSI seems vaguely overpriced. And it is impractical with less space in the cabin and boot. And don't forget the maintenance, which will surely lighten your wallet!

I drove the figo tdci once, it has very good pull but its clutch, gearshifts are hard, considering i already driven altroz. So overall, the betterment is of altroz diesel with better sturdy and solid build, designs, features, vfm, features, safety, etc.
