The Painkiller at the Dunn's Rum Club was absolutely amazing. The staff there was amazing. Blum was my other favorite place. The whole resort was definitely next level, and I think it is now my favorite Jamaica resort. While the beach is smaller than Mobay, it is so much nicer. We are usually pool people but spent the entire day at the beach the day we saw you. I can't wait to go back!
My husband and I went to this same resort the first week of September and we had an amazing time. It was our first post pandemic vacation. We stayed in one of the Rondovals and left us speechless when we first saw it. I agree with you on the distance and definitely needing to stay a week so you don’t lose out on time for traveling. We were there for only four days and immediately knew once we arrived it wasn’t long enough. We had such a wonderful trip we decided to delay our Alaska cruise and booked a return trip here for a week and one to Curaçao. We absolutely loved this resort. It had the perfect aesthetic and vibe. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming.
That is exactly how we felt- was 100% not enough time and we need to go back! It was such a beautiful resort!! Also you will love curaçao and love Alaska!! Great vacation choices!!
❤ love this review. Would love to pick your brain on what your top 5 adults only all inclusive resorts are? We went to excellence riviera Cancun last year and were blown away by the service and food
Thanx for taking the time your input is great we go to mbj about 5 times a year and mco-mbj direct on jetblue gets in at 7.40am!!!!!!!! Really looking forward to trying this resort soon Can you walk on the beach past the RUI? or just the other way ?? Thanx again
Thanks for the review. We are excited to go in March 2025. So happy to hear that they have ample seating/umbrellas because I am fair skinned and we are very sick of the Sandals scramble! We never get a Butler because my husband and I are private ‘do it yourselfers,’ did you feel it was difficult to get the dinner reservations you wanted? Lastly, do you feel it would be worth arranging private transfer from the airport? Neither my husband nor I suffer from motion sickness, but I would definitely prefer not to be stuck on a shuttle with people who do!
Thanks for watching! We had no problem with reservations, especially because only 2 restaurants needed them! This drive was very smooth and hugged the coast so odds of someone being motion sick is low compared to the drive to South Coast or in St Lucia for example! But you can add private transportation!
We were there the last week of August, and it was our second favorite Sandals after Royal Barbados too (we have been to or stayed at all of the others except Curacao). Once the Royal side opens (we will go back then), it should fill in all of the gaps in terms of things to do, a bigger beach and additional dining options (steakhouse, seafood, ice cream & desert place, plus some other upscale food) that elevates Barbados above this resort. We stayed in the Mammee Building in a 6th floor Oceanview Club Level Suite (OCL), and we were really happy with it - it may be an older building, but inside was 100% new and Sandals modern and from the balcony we had a great view of the beach/ocean (we always stay in a room with a beach view - we don't care how nice other rooms like the rondovals may be - if we can't see and hear the ocean, we will not stay there) and the full resort.
That is exactly how we felt about this resort!! Thank you for sharing!!! Definitely missed a steakhouse but think there will be one next door for sure. This was such a beautiful place!!!
How is the water and beach? And you mentioned the drive from the airport being long. That's one thing I hated about going to Negril. There is a new airport in Ocho Rios. Isn't that closer to Dunn's River? Thanks!
@@jj5645jt that new airport is closer, but it’s usually still easier/cheaper to fly to MBJ for most people. This was a nice drive, along the ocean, and not windy like other resorts such as south coast. Beach was great but small, will be larger when new resort opens next door. We loved the pools!

It was so nice chatting with you!!! The pics you posted of your room were amazing! We absolutely loved the resort- have to do back when Royal opens!
My husband, myself and another couple are going there for 7 days in Feb 2024. Love your review and am even more excited about our trip. Thanks!❤
Wishing you all a wonderful trip! Thanks for watching!!

We actually stick with Sandals so wouldn’t be able to compare!

Right now it’s blocked by a pier so you can’t get passed it.

I like the sounds of Jamaican vibe they are introducing!
Same!!
Which pool is the quiet pool?
The one with the swim up bar!
Do they offer transfers to any other resort?
Yes to Ochi!
@@ACoupleTravelers trying to figure out which resort is best to stay so I can visit others
@@opalwade5332 would def recommend staying at Dunn’s over Ochi!
@@ACoupleTravelers yea? Ok it seemed pricey but ok thanks for the response
@@opalwade5332 it is 20x better/nicer. Look for a 777 promotion for Dunn’s River!
