Someone else pointed out that the one Sammy has is an older version of Randy. If you look at his mouth it's less stiff on the lower jaw where recent Randy has a much more firm form to his mouth comparatively. So I tend to believe that person that the current Randy is a new and improved and this is an earlier version that Sammy has for the skit.

Originally they would stick around to meet people after the shows and you would meet the puppeteer and if yoy asked he would talk to you with Randy but as time went on he started wearing a mask and in the last few years I was able to make it to shows he stayed under the desk performing Randy
For the ppl who think this is real/dont get it randy and sam were both there that's why it seems like Sam's is doing rands is Sam's controlling fake Randy's puppet and real randy does the voice
As someone who’s not Australian, The Randy and Sammy J part of Randy’s career seems to be the golden age. A lot less deep than what Randy will come to make on his own but so fucking solid it’s unbelievably underrated.
I was genuinely disappointed when that little man popped out then just as i realised that is not his voice the little purple 💩 popped up and now I know ide rather not know.
I knew it was a ruse when he called himself a ventriloquist, since there’s a distinct manner of speaking used in ventriloquy and I never heard it from Randy before.

I just found out that Randy is coming to the theatre I work at. And now I'm terrified to meet the man behind the felt.

Actually, if you look closely at the first puppet, his lips don’t entirely match with what he’s saying. This means Sammy is controlling the puppet.

There's a way that puppeteers manipulate the little arm sticks with one hand in order to make the puppet come to life, it's not easy hahaha
