Thanks guys!these tutorials are EVERYRHING to me,you helped me aprove in skating, made me more comfy with myself and mu skates, theese videos are life savers❤️❤️🥰🥰✨✨
can you pleeease make an skating aftercare video with guided stretches!! i have been looking up lower back stretches on YT and using a lot of bengay but i would love to do a cool down/ stretch session along with a video.
Hi! I've been trying to learn turn around toe stops and can't seem to get myself to roll backwards after doing the transition. Do you have any tips? Thank you!!
That was an awesome video!! I’ve been skating for a few months. Im still learning the best way to stop while going fast. I’ve found stopping going backwards is much easier to use your toe stops! I need a better lesson on the t stop! Im going to see if you’ve done one! It seem impossible to use the outside of your back 2 wheels. Thanks again for the tips! Melissa
That's precisely the question that I had. Hopefully, we get answered! My ankles are super tight and don't want to open up when I am turning. That's my issue. :-) Hopefully there is a solution.
Plies absolutely to build strength, and seated glute stretch/pigeon pose is nice for the stretch so it doesn't get tight and seize when you're out, I loooove that stretch! Bound ankle pose is probably the one you're looking for, for gradual hip opening, if you keep it up you'll go a little lower each time, just be patient with yourself! It's not always about pushing, often it's relaxing or engaging certain muscles you might not have thought of. Also cyclist stretches really feel amazing for heaps of my skating muscles, they must use similar groups. I have to say I'm no expert but I hope this helps you look down the right path.
The "waitress" movement really helps! Before watching this video, I was trying to point backward with an extended arm to open my shoulder. Pointing sort of works, but I am able to rotate my shoulder without my body following the movement. The waitress keeps my elbow tucked into my body so my shoulder and chest are forced to follow. Great tip :)
UGH! 45 years of skating, still can't get that "waitress" turn. I give. I'm going to be stuck on jump turns forever. Oh well. I guess there are worse things I could be stuck on...right? LOL
Love this tutorial thank you so much! I have a question though, when you're going faster is there a certain speed where this becomes impossible? I want to be able to hill bomb and then turn around so I can stop fast if I can, or if I have to. Are there any other techniques to turn around when you're going faster? Thank you!
At faster speeds, you will want to do a 180 jump to the backwards stopping position. This will prevent your feet sweeping out from under you if you were to do the method of turning without your feet leaving the ground. Hope this helps :)
Probably my fav transition toe stop video!
I seriously love Abominatrix’s demo and explanations. I keep falling on my wrists bc I can’t stop and I get nervous. This is a critical skill. ❤️
lol this was helpful, but keeping the camera focused on Abominatrix' feet would've been even more helpful
Ugh, come on camera person, we need to see her feet during the turn. That's the biggest thing I'm trying to learn...

i’m in the middle of skating but i’m sitting in the grass just to watch this ahaha
yes i wanted to see her feet and rewatch parts but it never fully focused on her feet

Thanks for the tips! I am working to get my turns to look more graceful and I am sure they will help!
Thank you for these videos really appreciate it ❤️
This was very helpful! Thank you very much!🙌🥳

This really helps me thanks guys
Is there stretches or exercises to help me get to the spread eagle position when doing a turnaround toe stop?

Doing plies /demi plies has helped me with turning out my feet. You could try those

You are wonderful to watch.

I call it the 'HEE HEE'
Thanks for making this!
The step-by-step makes sense but would love to see full speed examples as well
yeppp this is when shit goes down haha
I’ve been practicing both my good and bad side because I wanna try to strengthen my bad side to be as good as my good side 😂.
UGH! 45 years of skating, still can't get that "waitress" turn. I give. I'm going to be stuck on jump turns forever. Oh well. I guess there are worse things I could be stuck on...right? LOL
That is totally my bf...he jump turns like 90% of the time! And is better at skating backwards! He used to play street hockey as a teenager....
Maybe look for tutorials about 180 turns, mohawk turns, etc.
Thats the more offical term for the turn hehe
