  • Also known as "Koing Drosselbert", King Thrushbeard tells the story of a beautiful princess whose pride and haughtiness lead to her eventual repentance.
    The story was written by Germany's famous fairytale authors, the Brothers Grimm, and has been adapted in such works as Shakespeare's classic 'The Taming of the Shrew'.

      I think he was pretty mean. Living as a poor person is one thing but messing with the pots that she sells so you two can eat and then scolding her for it is pretty low! Did he really think a princess would know how to do anything other than princess stuff yet he asks her to do stuff that she has no clue how to do?!

    I believe she's proud and haughty because her arrogant father won't stop treating his daughter like a dog and her vanity behaviour is just an act she's been using to make all of those foolish jerks to go away cuz she knew they're marry her for her face.

    why is there so many stories similar to this one? there's one in Celtic mythology, in that one she complains about the kings beard, and her father was in on it. He was also nicer to the princess unlike the guy in this story.

    There is no lesson to learn from this, but it is a fun story. Especially if you close your eyes and imagine it is the actors from Seinfeld. Jerry is Thrushbeard, Elaine is the princess, Kramer is the king and Newman is the beggar

      +Mola Bana that was also king thrushbeard, disguised as her father

    • @PrincessDreamActress
      @PrincessDreamActress 8 лет назад +3

      No it wasn't. Her father was just irritated at his daughter's arrogance. It's a different king entirely for the character Thrushbeard. But Thrushbeard did disguise himself as a minstrel and as a knight later on in the story destroying pots.

      RayZerno Oh apologies. You can't tell if it's sarcasm or not if it's posted online. I've read folktales so I'm pretty decent at this stuff.
