Yoko Shimomura has such a great and instantly recognizable style. I made an imagined KH4 style boss theme inspired by the series/Shimomura which I think would interest those that like Kingdom Hearts music.

Honestly i wish Nomura would just make Versus/Verum Rex as its own standalone game, playing a darker FF style game with Yozora as the main character would be godlike. But I guess we'll see where KH4 takes us
@@germgoblin5313 I really do think he's trying his best to take KH and break away with it despite the Disney overlords sinking their talons into every decision he makes. If you compare the KH1 game and tone/atmosphere with 3 and the secret movie, it's entirely different.
@@germgoblin5313 the whole point of why i loved kingdom hearts was because of Sora Donald and Goofy. Honestly I love the trio. Donald refusing to let Sora have his way. Goofy being the dad of the group. It feels like an authentic friendship that makes me wish Square owned Donald duck and Goofy. Them doing verum rex will basically just be final fantasy and you know it. Disney sucks but nomura knows how to write the characters. Hell it’s probably the issue with nomura right now. Disney lost so much money in 2022 that the ceo got fired. I guarantee they are waiting to fuck with kh4 for some money.

@@rhapsodyrascal4698 there were quite a few gems, such as Oscurita xehanort, edge of existence, yozora, and all the data fight themes. Though I think yozora and edge of existence were yoko

@Trace Macmillan all of the tracks you mentioned were all done by Yoko, but the final boss, as well as several other tracks, were done by Ishimoto. It throws off the soundtrack's consistency as Shimomoura uses live recorded instruments, and Ishimoto uses software recorded instruments. It can get pretty jarring sometimes.
The last part of the song really has a star wars vibe in it

The arranger Natsumi Kameoka did a really great job at creating this track from Shimomura's composition. She's becoming a prominent orchestrator.

I can imagine Sora, Riku, Yozora, Noctis, and possibly his gang (Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis) fighting all together to save Quadratum/Insomnia from the dark forces within this reality, while also meeting the big bad for this version's Xehanort saga. I WANT TO PLAY KINGDOM HEARTS 4 SO BADLY!!!!!!!

Nomura really has his preferences. It sounds similar to Sommus of FF XV, one of the best music pieces I've ever heard

-nomuras entire past with vsxiii and how quadrantum plot seems to be revolving around it

Thats how i am with every game im excited for. Like Final Fantasy 16, im really excited for that game to experience the story and gameplay. But most of all, the music. I cant wait to hear the music and take it and hear the music in context and then listening to the soundtrack on playlists i make. Very excited for that and KH4 and even missing link

I say that the reason this Darkside seems so powerful compared to the others is that this World is an earth-analogue, and seemingly, none of the Disney/FF worlds have any regular mundane evils, like having to prioritize bills over fun.

It’s been over 2 years and it has been completely radio silent on this game’s progress as of the time of me writing this…I know they’re working hard to give us the best possible game they can, but man, when I hear this music, I can’t help but get a little antsy and eager to see what else this game has in store for us. Yoko Shimomura remains undefeated, and I know she’s gonna give us another phenomenal soundtrack in KH4.

Has Yoko shimomura ever commented on when in development she typically kinda starts working. I'd imagine scripts are done and alot of the art maybe (concept art and some designs not graphics specifically)
I assume without knowing just because I would imagine she needs to find the tone and style for scenes, characters worlds etc to make the tracks

The first few seconds sounds much more like Somnus Ultima or collecting the royal arms then it does Versus XIII what only had the main version of Somnus, I mean its the same motif but it sounds completely different
